  1. Where's the bike? Double cleans are easy without a bike assuming marks are lost for falling over and it does look dry.
  2. Yep and I'm not hiding it. I'm a socially conscious liberal nationalist.
  3. > If a conservative reads this, he'll forward it so his friends can have > a good laugh. > A liberal will delete it because he's "offended". > Mark As you know full well politics the UK are not so easily split in to the two camps seperating main stream US parties of conservative and liberal. For others out with the UK we have three main parties conservative, liberal and socialist (with many other minority parties). My reply was as Tim says just a bit of fun as you left me only two options for response. Forward or delete. Since I couldn't really foward it as I'm not a conservative I would have to delete it. I did consider deleting it in fun but with it deleted the joke would be lost on anyone who haven't had a chance to read it yet. I hope I didn't offend you but thanks for the links anyway they were fun. Watching and listening to the deliverance in the run up to the SSDT is better timing than you will ever know, eh Andy?
  4. Robert You could try contacting the SSDT office regarding your cinema. They are doing more event promotion this year and may be interested.
  5. Robert, Thanks for the offer. We do have HD equipment but find it easier for most viewers to supply a SD final product. HD is more labour intensive and one of the key aims is to get footage out to the pubs within a hour or so of filming each day. We have a relationship with the SSDT committee that is quite limited in passes and I doubt they would agree to expanding this. We are very luck to get the access we do. Our filming and supply of footage is a hobby and doesn't even cover our bar bills so there would be nothing in it for you either. To be honest I think we get the general feel of the week pretty well the way we do it and only publish a tiny percentage of the footage we get so additional footage brings more hastle than benifit. Sorry but I like the laid back way we currently work and can't face turning this it to more of a monster than it already is. I think you'd be disappointed at how unprofessional Matt and I are too.
  6. Interesting, I'd concider myself more liberal than conservative (by the UK meaning) and have moderator rights to these forums. Should I delete the post?
  7. They roll up in to their bases, exhibition style. Come on you know you want one.
  8. Find below the initial list of Charity Auction items. This list is expected to grow significantly over the coming few weeks so I'll update it regularly. You can now start bidding by email to charityauction AT trialscentral.com. Future updates will also show the current highest bid if any. TC_auction_list.pdf Attention dealers. I'm still disappointed by the donation rate from you guys. This is a great opportunity to promote your company on the front page of trialscentral.com please contact me at the above email address if you want to take advantage. John
  9. If your tyres have a E marking your fine full stop. There is no need to remove the for competition use only. On the Michelin it also clearly states that this is only for the USA and Canada. I once had a problem with an MOT and resorted to phoning Michelin UK. They sent me and the tester a fax showing the type approval and road legality outwith the USA and Canada. If the tyres stay not for road use you may be better to buy a Michelin or remove the writing or simpler take the bike to a friendlier tester. I found one guy who was going to fail me because the seat was not suitable. I think my laughing hard made him change his mind.
  10. How's this for a little something special. These banners were donated by the FIM after being used at the Sheffield indoor. Jake Miller arranged this and is going to get them signed by the riders. This list of lots is starting to grow but there is still plenty of room for more. I'll post the list after the SSDT this year where I hope to tie people down a little more. Online bidding will then start too. These banners will be unique and become future collectables.

    Hey Fat Lad !

More next week according to some forecasts.
  12. Thanks Mark, Contributions from across the pond are more than welcome. Shame folks in the UK don't seem so keen
  13. OK, I'm posting again just to get this back up at the top. No apologies either. This is a good cause and will be a great addition to a special night out. Only a small number of the dealers I've contacted have come up with offers and a few TC forums members. Come one folks if you have a trials related business you need to grab this promotional opportunity NOW. Just look at the front page 'Party on the Ben' banner. You name could be there too.
  14. Also remember to get some mineral brake and clutch fluid. The clutch on new bikes is mineral oil only unless you change the seals.
  15. A good quality easy out is all that will work and since you know its very tight a lot of heat right on the remaining part without heating the cylinder too much. I cannot over emphasise the good quality part of the above statement. You will get easyouts that look like taps with a reverse thread but a lot of these are poorly made and seldom work in my experience. They could leave you with few options other than drill and tap a new hole. Maybe a very good set would work but I find the best type are the tapered square edge type that a good hardware shop should have. These look like a tapered square rod about the size of a drill bit with a machine tool stepped edge. All you do is drill a pilot hole and hammer the extractor in. It bites the edge of the hole and you fit a spanner or socket to the end and screw it out with lots of heat. Never had one fail yet. Square stud extractor The art of extraction
  16. Swapping bikes is always going to take time even if its the same manufacturer. A change of manufacturer just makes it taka a little longer for us run of the mill riders anyway. I can't see any tips being very useful just get out and ride as much as possible ; before the stator packs in
  17. I think you've surprised more that are admitting to it. Look as the view count.

    Ssdt Route

its snowing again across most of Scotland today and forcast for a few days yet.
  19. I bought a pair of diadora Stones last year and they are the most comfortable boots I've ever worn. I wouldn't buy them again though as they offer as much water proofing as a tea bag. I wear SealSkinz socks that are waterproof but still don't like the feeling of the water sloshing about my feet. They don't offer much ankle protection either. Gaerne Oil leather next time. I've had two pairs of these before and they last and stay waterproof a long time.
  20. I agree it needs bleeding. I was only really commenting on the dead ending in my post. Reverse bleed it as described above its easy. I use a small brake fluid bottle with a short length of small hose forced very tightly in through a hole in the top. This seals very well and give a much larger volume to push the fluid through with. Just fit the hose to the nipple open it and squeeze the bottle until all the bubbles stop flowing or you've pushed through a good volume of fluid. A rag wrapped round the bars beside the master cylinder catches all the over flow. Job done. I've used the same bottle for years now just filling it with fresh fluid from time to time. I'm told it goes off if you leave it too long. It's always in my tool bag and I fixed someones front brake at a trial only yesterday with it.
  21. If you mean the level stops when pulled in before it reaches the bars its probably due to you adjusting the screw all the way in. This causes the piston to bottom out before the lavel reaches the bars.
  22. For basic learning it doesn't matter much but you'll soon start thinking the bike is hold you back (even though it may not be). I'd go for condition over age too but as new as you can afford. The bikes from the mid to late nineties on are all pretty good, but try if you can to get in to to this century.
  23. We are looking for observers for this event. If you have a mate free please encourage them to come along and get close to the action. Craiglash is a great venue with some spectacular looking sections.
