  1. TC_auction_list.pdf Find attached the latest update on the Charity Auction lot list. I'm hoping that this list will continue to grow pretty quickly now as the event nears but obvioulsy there will be a lot of stuff that only turns up on the day. I'm taking bids now if you can't make the event and want to get your hands on some nice or exclusive gear email me at charityauction AT trialscentral.com This is the latest offering from Rob McElnea.
  2. I agree with Copey for a change here. It would be good to see him at the SSDT in 2011. This is a tough event and different from anything he's probably ridden before but its a laid back week of riding if that's the way you approach it. Just look at Caby. He came over with mates rode very well but for fun and seemed to enjoy it. Its a week he'd never forget. The culture change would be easy as would most of the language but I'd have to say the local culture if that's what you'd call in Fort William is still very different even for me and I'm from the north east of scotland. How about the US dream team Copey, Ishy and Pat. Dream for Copey and Ishy, nightmare for Pat.
  3. Very nice riding and video production Sam.
  4. Lies, damned lies, and statistics as the saying goes. I'm not trying to take anything away from the amazing figures but Mount Everest is 29029 ft high. You dont climb it from sea level but even from Lukla in Nepal (where most start) its 19679 ft to the sumit. The elevation gained and lost during six day week would be enough for an accent and decent and almost another accent from base camp to the summit as its 12000 ft from base camp to the summit. I've checked the maps and worry about fuel stops however.
  5. Vince Your PM inbox is full!
  6. Probably will be but it depends on how the whole final product comes together. We've got lots of good 5's in the can but I don't think any of your are spectacular enough.
  7. Glad it worked. You've done it exactly as I would have. Spoke end and rim taps.
  8. THREE NEW ADDITIONS TO THE CHARITY AUCTION BELOW. ADDITION 1 Trials UK has great pleasure in announcing its contribution to the extremely worthwhile charity event being held by Trials Central at the forthcoming World Championship Trial on the Ben. We have been in talks with the World no.4 Indoor Champion, and current World no.6 Outdoor Champion, and current British Champion, James Dabill, about helping us provide a prize that will be great to raise money with. James and Trials UK have a special interest in helping with Charities that involve Cancer and also Children, and would like to offer a youth rider, and his Dad/Mum, a day to remember for them both. This consists of:- 1 Arrive at the Trials UK store in Leeds, on the morning to be arranged, where the lucky winner will meet James Dabill for coffee and a chat. 2 Following that you will then be able to spend the
  9. Old mixture post I provided a handy chart a few years back on the above link. Post No 8
  10. I let it set first. If its leaking at all the air path will remain during and after the drying process. I don't think you need to leave it to dry completely though. Oh, heat help the drying process too if your in a hurry.
  11. No miracle but works everytime. Clean the rim and tape well then apply silicon compound (bathroom sealer) round the rim over the spokes then fit the tape. If and when you take it off the silicon comes with it or can be rubbed off by hand. Simples
  12. Perce. That was the exact answer I was looking for though 'touch wood' a little unfair.
  13. If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen. You came on here offering questionable advice to world championship riders, teams and manufacturers but were unable or unwilling to support or answer some of the questions put to you. These are public forums read by all of the above and many appear to find the advice of a non trials riding onlooker with little or no experiance of modern trials bikes or riding an event such as the SSDT needs further backup and explaination. It's easy to give advice after the fact but I wonder if you would have offered your coil advice before knowing that the coil was at fault on Doug's bike. If I'm wrong and your really know what your talking about I'll be the first to appologies. What tools and spares would you recommend I carry on a long distance trial for a 2009 Gas Gas 300 Pro?
  14. Just the pleasure of knowing you took a part in helping an up and coming world championship rider.
  15. It may be worth changing out the regulator first. I've had two of these fail in the past on a 2004 and 2006 pro. Both times I appeared to be getting an output but obvioulsy not enough under load.
  16. As the Trialscentral.com build up starts for the UK world rounds in June I thought I'd move this post here. The auction list is not building as fast as I'd like but I did pick up a few things in Fort William last week and got a good few promises from the main distributors. I'll hopefully be able to up date the list soon with some more unique items including a very special one on one training day with James Dabill.
  17. Robert, Answer my question please. What bike do you ride now and which bikes did you have coil faults on?
  18. Robert, Do you ride a trials bike? If so which make and model. I've never heard of a coil going in a trial and don't know anyone who carries a spare one (though I'm sure some will). Beta's have in the past had electrical problems with stators and almost everyone here would have changed that first on loss of spark on a beta. You say you've had a few go in the past and I'm wondering what you're riding. Is that the bio diesel bike you designed last year. if so there shouldn't be a coil at all so why carry a spare?
  19. Right, I'm back home with all the footage. I'll be editing it down over the coming weeks and should have the DVD complete and available soon after. Keep an eye out here for more news. Again this year this will be a non profit making enterprise with prices covering only production cost and P&P.

    Thanks

Video editing is a bit rough and ready at the moment but will get a lot better once we're home. Hope you enjoy it though. More online soon.
  21. Gay rights - Everyone has their rights. Surely your sexual orientation has nothing to do with rights. Abortion - Never needed one and dont expect I ever will so no strong opinions. Just finished listening to a debate about it in Scotland as all parties agree that Scottish population is dropping (nothing to do with abortion) so we need immigrants. This will need controlling but I've no problem with immigrants who come over and embrace our society, add the the great mix of Scotland, work and pay their taxes. Free loaders on our welfare immigrant or not are not welcome.
