Tymono Bashplate
Most TY Mono have serious magnesium corrosion to the bottom of both flywheel and clutch covers. I am sure that this is because bashplates are never removed to clean the build up of crud that accumulates under the motor.

Wheels To Fit Ty250 Mono. Are There Others Out There?
I would imagine with some mods to the swing arm locating lug you should be able to get something of a similar period to fit, although you will have the same corrosion issues as the standard TY wheel, so may cost the same at the end of the day. Second hand swinging arms are cheap enough so you could do some experimenting. How much are you being quoted for a wheel build on your talon hub, you should be able to get a rim and spokes for £150 + £70 for the build. If you had an original TY hub it would cost more as the Z spokes are more expensive than traditional spokes.

Ty250R Mono Drum Brakes...useful,effective Mods?
Bin the drum brake and swap for a Pinky front end with AJP 4 pot calliper (fits straight onto the Yam fork leg). Makes a massive difference.

Ty Mono Oils
The clutch cover has the transmission oil capacity stamped on it. View the user manual online at http://northover.com/Bike/YamahaTYManual.htm

Ty250 Mono Rear Wheels.
Hi Rob You would be better having a new wheel made up around your Talon hub. The standard mono rear wheel uses Z spokes which are becoming increasingly harder and more expensive to find. Most second hand mono wheels have some degree of rim corrosion and you will probably end up having to rebuild anyway.

Alloy Tank For Ty Mono
Only alloy tanks I have seen for the mono was a high capacity one which I assume was for long distance trials, think they are quite rare although I do know where there is one that maybe for sale. Standard mono tanks are either steel (s model) or plastic (r model).

Ty Mono Tank Cover?
Yes i've got one too - very good value and really smartens the bike up, appeared a bit flimsy but once fitted seems up to the job and the tank and frame stiffen it up quite a bit.

Ty 250 Mono
Plastic tank will fit on all mono frames regardless of whether it originally had a steel one. S and N (i think) models had the steel tank and the R and Pinky version had steel. Finding a really good plastic tank is hard work - last NOS one I saw was £250.
