    Helmet fit?

The jitsie HT2 XXL was a good fit size wise, but there were a couple of small pressure pinch points, which I knew were going to give me grief after wearing the helmet for some time. So I’ve done a terrible thing and shaved a bit of the foam back to relieve the pressure point. I understand that this isn’t great practice, but the helmet know fits comfortably, and to be honest at my level of riding, shouldn’t significantly impact the integrity of the helmet.
  2. What are the numberplate options for a modern trials bike?
  3. Just to finish this thread off, I’ve used the loom which Sportswayer mentions above. Fits a treat and does the job. Headlight mounted and running.
  4. An interesting read, and I can see where he’s going with the idea - but I can’t help but think - why not go out and buy a CRF250?!?!
  5. sportsawyer, bang on. Thank you. I’ll give it a go this weekend. cheers Boner.

    Helmet fit?

Thanks for the replies. I’m going to stick with the HT2. I’m sure it’s just that new helmet feeling, and I’m sure I’ll get used to it after a while. Boner.

    Helmet fit?

Thanks for the in depth reply. Agreed about road lids, and I’ve always spent a great deal of time trying to find the best lid. I’ve picked up a Jitsie HT2, it fits very well, but I’m surprised it sits so high on the forehead. I’ll measure it again in the morning. Thanks.

    Helmet fit?

How should a trials helmet fit on your forehead? I’ve only been used to road full face lids, and my new Jitsie feels like it’s sitting rather high up on my forehead! Is this a thing? Cheers Boner.
  9. Bought the 46 fits snugly, but think a 47 would be comfier. Returning for one size up.
  10. Thanks Maxwell. It’s a L31 4ED, so has the map switch. Having inspected the loom again, I can see where I could splice it into, but I’d rather not start bu99eribg around with the loom... I think I might shelve the idea for the minute and run a number plate instead, and wear a head torch whilst practicing in the dark! Thanks for your input though. Boner
  11. Could someone tell me how (or where) the 4RT headlight plugs in? I’ve read about it being spliced into the map switch, which sounds a bit scary, and slightly unnecessary seeing as Honda supply it with plugs ready to hook up... Thanks Boner.
  12. I use Harpic Power Plus toilet cleaner... Heard about it years ago, and was very sceptical... but gave it a go... bloody magic! Paint it on... wiggle it about with a brush, leave for 5 mins - hose off. Exhaust looks like new! Used on Akrapovic titanium headers, no drama.
  13. Thanks Maxwell. A job for the weekend I think.
  14. Thank you for the in-depth explanation Maxwell. To be honest, it sounds a bit of a pain if left on. I’ll chew it over. Thanks Matt.
  15. Could someone tell me where the headlight switch for the 4RT should be positioned? Do I have to buy a switch holder thingamie too? thanks.
  16. Thanks people. I’ll go for a pair of 46, and see if Cinderella can go to the ball. Cheers Boner.
  17. Could someone tell me how Gaerne boots measure up? I wear a size 46 shoe. Do I need to go up a boot size? Thanks.
  18. Thanks for the replies. I’ll call a few dealers to see what demos are available.
  19. In threads which discuss what new bike to get, more or less everyone suggests go out and try them to decide, which I totally understand and agree with. But, my question is where am I able to try out these bikes?!? Thanks - Boner
  20. Not yet... got to buy a bike first!
  21. Morning, and welcome. just been having a look at a few YouTube clips of Fry’s Bottom. Looks an excellent venue. Enjoy!
  22. True. And I don’t want to descend into the towbar topic, as it’s been covered here many times... I’m just in the market for a new bike and trying to figure out which best suits my requirements... thanks for the input.
  23. Thanks for the replies, and yes getting my bike to events IS part of my selection criteria...
  24. Looking into the weights of various bikes (250-300cc) Who makes the lightest bike? - I’ve already figured out the Mont is a bit too porky! * thinking of a light bike to hang on a Dave Cooper rack. Need to come in under 75kg (inc rack) for vertical towbar load. Cheers Boner.
  25. Thank you for all the replies. Typically, I had been considering a 4rt! Perhaps I should buy the neighbours ear defenders for Christmas! cheers Boner
