    Float Directions

Tried every which way around, and it's still flooding. Have hooked the arms over and under, and tried the floats both ways up! In simpleton terms, should the float pins be at the bottom of the bowl or up the top? Then does the float arm sit under or over the pins??? Cheers Boner.

    Float Directions

Thank you chaps - sounds like I've put something in upside down or back to front. Will pull it apart again and have a look. Cheers - Boner.

    Float Directions

Guys have just stripped and cleaned my carb - stuck it back together and turned the fuel back on... ...which ended up on the garage floor as it flooded out of the air vent pipes! Bu99er!Just been searching the forum and found this exploded diagram of the 315R carburetor. http://www.apexmotosports.com/montesa%20pa...20book/e-10.htm Noticed that the floats are set in opposite directions - is this correct, and if I had installed them both in the same direction, would this explain my spillage? Cheers - Boner.
  4. Guys, got a CR500 tucked away in the garage which needs a little TLC. Does anyone know of any good specialists in the South West area? Cheers - Boner.
  5. Just ripped the silencer off my '04 315. Any idea where I can get a new one from? Cheers - Boner.

    Sticking Carb

Thanks guys, took the carb apart last night and found that the slide did indeed have slight scoring... so cleaned that up. If it persists, I'll order a new part for GG. Shame they're made of crappy plastic really... Anywho - stripped the carb, cleaned it, checked cables etc. - all fine. Put it all back together and got kicking - NOTHING! Got fed up andwent to bed! Had another stab at it tonight, and again nothing... got REALLY pi55ed off with the bike and gave it a good kicking (on the kick start that is) and hey presto - she sprang to life. Ran her for a few minutes, stopped her and restarted - no problems. So haven't got a clue what was wrong, or indeed what I did (if anything) to fix it. Bikes... Cheers - Boner.

    Sticking Carb

Just a quick one... Would the posibility of sticking carb on my Gaser, lead to starting difficulties? Noticed the revs sticking on Saturday, later dropped the bike - then it refused to start. Have shut off the fule, removed and dried (and checked) the spark - all seems fine... What next? Cheers - Boner.
  8. Yo Yo, bang this: 50.761599,-2.058649 into Google maps. It's a farm on the righht hand side going from Poole to Syurminster Marshall. Cheers - Boner.
  9. Yeah - love it... but it has to go. So have been looking around at Audi A6, BMW 530, V-Class Mercs etc etc. Something that's good for living with - but can handle a bit of weight for towing purposes. So need a big heavy car/van thing... Boner.
  10. Well I already have a Toyota Landcruiser VX (4.2 TD). Which does the job beautifully - but it's kind of thirsty as an everyday car for doing the school run, going to Tesco etc. Need something more ecconomical that can hadle pulling 2 - 2.5 tonnes. Any ideas welcome... Cheers - Boner.
  11. Guys, thinking about buying a Vito / V-Class Merc. Need to tow about two tonnes with this vehicle (wife's horse and trailer). Has anyone out there any experience of towing with one of these, and if so are they any good for the job? Cheers - Boner.
  12. Can anyone out there explain to me how to measure a bolt and give it's correct technical name, so that when I phone up to order some I don't sound a complete tit - and that i actually end up with what I need. Thanks - Boner.
  13. nicbrrghs, how does sandpits work? Have driven by a few times on my to and from Poole, but as yet, haven't dropped in. Do you park up and pay at the farm house or what? Cheers - Boner.
  14. Try some Technosel from BVM: http://www.bvm-moto.co.uk/workshop.htm#technosel Has stood up to a good beating on my bike. Cheers - Boner.

    Txt50 Gearing

Thanks for that Paul. Going to finish off the mods this weekend, and hopefully transform the bike! Cheers - Boner.
  16. Don't know if they are in stock or not but they quoted me: 1 x TR370 (415) x 60T - Rear Talon sprocket -
  17. Likewise, just waiting for a delivery from Talon! I'm going to try a 60T:9T configuration first, see how it performs, then start with the back sprocket if needs be! Will let you know how I get on. Cheers - Boner.
  18. Yep, it's the TXT50 Boy. Currently running at 60T:10T. How do you find that 54T:9T set up Tom? Don't know about your lads bike, but ours hasn't got enough grunt off the bottom end for up-hill work, and spins up too fast on down-hill. Just trying to find a good compromise. Sounds like the 9 tooth front srpoket might do the job... cheers - Boner.
  19. One tooth off the front it is then. Thanks for the input chaps. Cheers - Boner.
  20. Guys can someone set me straight about loosing (or adding teeth) on sprockets. Are you better loosing teeth off the front sprocket or the back sproket to slow things down? What happens is I loose one or two off both? Cheers - Boner.

    Praise Be...

No not yet... my lads got enough on his mind without worrying about using the clutch! Brakes would be a good strating point!!! Seems to have mastered the throttle well enough though! I'm sure if you dropped Factory Kev a line, he'd share his thoughts on converting to maunal. Cheers - Boner.

    Praise Be...

Thought that I'd chuck a quick post up to say Praise be to Gas Gas for their customer support for my lads TXT50. Have just been dealing with tchnical and parts and they've been bloody marvellous! Swift replies on the email to technical enquiries and parts out today on an order placed a couple of minutes ago. If I'd known they were this good I might have brought one myself... let's hope Montesa offer the same service... Boner.

    Txt50 Gearing

All the mods, are those that I have read on here. Just figured that whilst the bike was in bits, I'd get those jobs done. Clutch is
  24. Totally understand what the guys are saying above... BUT... I use MX boots, and find them fine. I'm sure if I tried trials boots I'd love them. But if you've already got a pair of boots that do the job, is it really worth going out and blowing
