  1. yes the stock petrol cap isn't worth a Toss get the aluminium one and save yourself the hassle...
  2. The fit is very good on both elbow and knee, there is a sizing chart to go off, I'm 6ft and 90kg just regular I guess... if you stick to the measurement guides I think you will be fine.
  3. Well just a quick update on the Jitsie protective stuff, "She that must be obeyed" actually did as she was told for once and got me the right gear...what's even more surprising is it's also the right size... I ended up getting the elbow protectors and the long knee/Shin Protectors, very impressed with them comfy to wear and can't tell your riding with them on...I'm only a dolloper but yes I'd buy them again for sure. Great bit of Kit.
  4. With reference to the 2019 Beta I decided this time it was time for a new bike, the last one i had was a Beta 270 '06 which was absolutely bullet proof after all the mods had been done to it. I was in a similar position I thought I fancied a change maybe a Vertigo Maybe a TRS in the end I decided on another Beta purely because it's all I've ever ridden as an adult and not had many problems with them at all. (apart from the easy fixes) and while I don't mind working on bikes I'd rather be riding them. The first times I took it out I loved it, felt silky smooth but maybe that was going down to a 250...then I went through a stage of "am I chopping it back in and trying aTRS" reasons being i don't like it when things don't work as they should... 1). Petrol Cap was pathetic (was too tight in the threads) 2). Gear Shift Dropped off ( the tightening bolt didn't clamp it onto the spindle, so had to alter that) 3). crap Clutch 4). fuel tap tight to turn 5). choke bad to turn on and off with my fat fingers While these are admittedly small things the length of time this model has been out I was disappointed with it. To try and address the clutch problem slightly without doing Dan's mods on the first oil change I put some Putoline GP10 in it The first time out it jumped out of 2nd gear on me...that was it I was selling it ! I've since gone back to the manufacturers recommended oil, and bought an aftermarket fuel cap...up to now it's not jumped out of second gear after about 18 hrs use, I can actually put petrol in it... and i'm back in the happy zone.
  5. Fajardo said he wasn't competing does anyone know the line up ?
  6. Yes I get it shouldn't find neutral easily when in gear I was just comparing it to my old 06 which never came out of gear but was a lot easier to find neutral on. I did toy with the oil Idea after its first oil change I put Putoline GP10 in it, I've ordered some of the recommended in the manual and will try that to compare it Yes the Petrol Cap is a chuffin Joke...
  7. It's behaved today and stayed in gear, it definitely feels like a challenge trying to find neutral and the petrol cap does me in, that had me cossing a fair bit ?
  8. ah ok cheers guys i'll drop a hint to earache about christmas is coming and see if she takes the hint ?
  9. Has anyone tried the jitsie protective gear and what's it like to ride in ? Thanks in advance Mick
  10. I've got a 2019 been out a few times on it and today it came out of 2nd on its own a few times....after coming off an 06 that was absolutely bullet proof i'm starting to wish i'd tried a different brand...
  11. yes the petrol caps are still ***** on the 2019...pathetic
  12. I didn't want to road register my 2019 Evo 250, which was the sticking point with Carol Nash and the fact that the advisers said something different every time I spoke to them..yes we can insure it...no we can't insure it...we can only insure upto 5K..we can't insure it unless it's the full amount of the cost of the bike...blah..blah. I got fixed up with MSM for £181.32 which I thought was a good price, I'd to send in photo's of the Ground anchors and chains I used as that was part of the conditions, it's covered for fire & theft and also in transit. I guess the usual where you live etc affects the quotes..
  13. Thanks Gasserguy, yes great company to deal with made Carole Nash look like Amateurs...
  14. Hi Everyone, Just got off the phone from Carole Nash and they're saying that they won't insure any trials bike worth over 5 Grand, and the bikes got to be road registered to put it under a motorbike policy. Anyone use any other off road Insurance companies.. Thanks in advance
