  1. bit like me saying i dont see the point of ice hockey where Half a dozen (?) blokes dress up like tellytubbies and then fight each other every 5 minutes when things dont go their way ? one mans noise.....is another mans music
  2. Can't speak for everyone but i just don't believe that (the majority) of us were sucked in by the media's hype. We just wanted to win..simple as that. If the scots want to take the pi$$ then fine...i happy knowing that my national team is better than Angola...not something you could say in scotland though? I used to cheer on wales, Ni and the other lot but have to be honest this times has got up my nose so i'll play by the scottish rules instead What you should'nt confuse is the desire or hope to do well for the the arrogance of thinking or believing we were going to win my tenpennath for what its worth
  3. I'll try that steady thank you r2wtrials i've pm'd yer mate
  4. I'm looking for an owners manual for a 02 Gas Gas TXT 280 can anyone help or point me in the right direction?
  5. There doesn't seem to be anything on uk tv these days, i keep checking eurosport and motors tv but there isn't much at all. Anyone know of anything? ooops probably in the wrong section this so apologies in advance...doh!
  6. thats an awful long time to be holding your tongue old chap...have one of these
  7. like you say mike not exactly comprehensive but handy all the same
  8. wehaay...finally got some wheels.....now the proud owner of a 280 TXT gasser, so i should be giving it a kick of the ball soon. soon to be seen falling flat on his ar$e in a riverbed somewhere near you
  9. Not at all. I've been in this funny little place called Japan then straight back into real life job. That's me literally just back home. It's being worked on in the background. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> ooops sorry if that touched a nerve andy...was meant to be banter more than a jibe.....i'll get me coat
  10. I'm presuming this good idea is dying on its a*** is it?
  11. I think a beginners section would be a great idea because its not that easy to get info if youre a newbie. I've had to chuck myself round quarries in rochdale and swamps near preston talking to people to get info fine if youre the talkative kind like me but no use if your not so forward.. I too have ridden road bikes for 20 odd years and done all the track days ,TT course, Mad sunday and could happily share all that info / experience....however...i have no idea WHATSOVER about tyre pressures, flag marking system (seems to be different every furkin trial i go to! ), correct doses of 2 stroke oil , acu licence etc. As has been said , i'm presuming the sport needs people like me who are newbie's and looking to get into the sport, so anything that helps us getting started would be a good idea. I've no hard and fast idea's on the format.. just whatevers easiest for the author. my tenpenn'th for what its worth
  12. Could'nt agree more. The steam racket is an absolute rip off and gets worse every year. They have a booking system that makes punjabi railways look cutting edge and the service is diabolical. Last year cost 3 of us damn near
  13. oh yes...that sounds good..would you change the clutch or stick with the original!!
  14. The Observers decision IS final and no-one can overturn that decision unless it concerns the mis-interpretation of the rules (ie if a stop merits a five or a one) If an observer says they saw two dabs then two is the score regardless of any official protests. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> i agree with that scorpa3.....my main point is the rugby one where the ref isn't even questioned, the lads just stand there and take the decision good or bad. Contrast that with proffessional football which most kids/adults/grumpy old men & women get to see numerous times a week and that for me sets the tone for what we do. I'll get off me soapbox and go and have a lie down in a darkened room!
  15. Does anyone know of anywhere that sells second hand kit...boots, helmets etc...or am i best just surfing the dreaded flea bay?
  16. Strewth...that got a response .Its a shame that both bit the dust as i would have thought there was capacity in the market for at least one glossy monthly YOU HAVE USED WORDS OR A PHRASE WHICH ARE NOT PERMITTED ON THIS WEBSITE. PLEASE DELETE YOUR POST/TOPIC. DO NOT TRY TO CIRCUMVENT THE FILTERS IN PLACE ON THIS WEBSITE. I mean if you compare it with road bikes (ok bigger catchment there) there are numerous monthly titles to pick from. A scan round my local WH Smith's will give you canal boats, model railways, shooting, classic cars and all manner of different interests all around similiar levels as trials yet they manage to maintain more than one publication per month.
  17. Is that trialsworld magazine still going or did it drop off the radar?
  18. should be like rugby...ref's decision is final. Or if youre that miffed appeal to clerk of the course or whatever the equivalent is I watched a pre 65 at skyrakes last year and every rider thanked the observer as they exited the section...now thats how it should be
  19. I'd change your dealer mate.....and then tell him what a laugh youre having spending your hard earned cash elsewhere!
  20. Ah now thats classy you can take the boy out of yorkshire...but you can't take yorkshire out of the boy! glad to see it wasn't snowing for once or when i last went it was hailstones coming at you like airgun pellets!
  21. thats a really good website...just wish i'd done spanish instead of french when i was at school eh?
  22. thanks folks mucho helpful erm pems dabber?
  23. Thats great thanks folks. So thats the trials sorted. I've contact details for lancs county. Who do i need to talk to at darwen or bolton? shops anyone? out of 255 views (excluding our friends from across the pond) someone must have bought something somewhere in lancashire any idea's folks? KB racing in leyland comes up on the gasgas website....anyone got any experience of them? again any help much appreciated cheers jez.
  24. Thats GOT to be trick photography surely? either that or he's currently having the bars surgically removed!
  25. Hello folks as you will no doubt see from the user name i'm originally from sheffield but now exiled due to marriage and kids in deepest darkest lancashire (oh the shame on the family name! ) well in Lytham st.annes to be precise. Now lytham is nice enough but it is to trials what my granny is to downhill skiing! I've spent a few hours reading this and many other sites and it would appear that i need to do a few things to get started....namely find a club and try a few bikes So there in lies the problem. Lytham is about 5 miles from blackpool and 12 or so from preston. With a bit of head stratching i've worked out that the local clubs seem to be Bolton, Lancs county or Darwen all broadly within a 40 to 50 miles trip from here which is the best for a skilless newbie like myself? anyone post on here from any of those clubs that could point me in the right direction or help me out with advice/pointers etc? Where's my nearest shop for bikes and kit etc? so thats me folks...sorry for the long and rambling post....any info and advice that you can give me would be greatly appreciated cheers
