  1. Anyone got the results for the trial? heard it was good, couple of retirements from our lads due to injuries, the rest rode well though and really enjoyed it
  2. First is still plenty long enough but second is much more usable even on tight turns and short blast up hills where first has always been the order of the day. Well pleased with it today and really glad I bought a Renthal chain over the Iris, one of our lads bust a new Iris today on top of a rock step, high up a climb as well at the East Yorks. Also heard a few others busting there as well over the two days, is there a problem with them?
  3. Pete, just what I thought, a tenner to process the licence, make the thing, send it out with the book, does nt add up really does it. Alot of people say the ACU dont do enough for the sport but it looks like we are ourselves not helping to fund it, no funds no help surely. On the point of Road Racing not sure how that covers much buy itself for the
  4. Mines abit like that, few others as well but never bothered me. May be the clutch dragging abit if your engaging with one finger, usually fine if you pull the clutch right in to the bars
  5. Cecil, thats a bit lean, try 75ml - 80ml in 5 litres of Petrol. ie 1.5%, 12.5 ml per litre is only 1.25%, few mates run at 1.25% but I think its pushing it abit.
  6. Great explanation of how things work at the ACU John, enlightend me for one. Can you give a run down of what happens to all the tenners that go into the kitty via the licence and how the money is distributed back into the sport and what for.

    Factory Parts

Anyone bought and tried one of these Factory add-ons from Beta? Says on their site the following 27 mm piston, allows major obstacles to be surmounted from a standing start. I like the sound of that!!!!!
  8. Seems abit rich 2% fuel/oil mix, what does your book say?, has the new filter got too much oil on it as well? I run the Beta at 1.3-1.5% using Repsol or TTS
  9. They should be allowed to stop in my opinion, saves any arguments with observers and most do it anyway and get away with it. Also how are youth riders going to learn the FIM rules if they have to keep going in a section in the UK and then be allowed to stop in the World, makes for a different style and approach to sections. Like to see all adults stopping too if possible, old I know and probably been done a 100 times on here but some of us over 40's need abit of a blow sometimes in a section
  10. Same here mate, few years ago with a Gasser, still have nt come across it yet? lucky I had a spare one

    Beta Rev 3 07

Lee, nice one , dont hype it up too much though mate or I'll be down the bank begging again Monday
  13. Heath, not the one you wanted but still a classic, may be on this site somehwere though (the car one) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yzhlAQgv7kE
  14. Not sure of the Techno carb but once off spray the outside of the carb with cleaner if there is any muck on it, this will save more crap getting into the carb once dismantled. Remove the float bowl carefully and turn the top part of the carb body upside down on the bench. Make sure the float chamber/floats etc are clean and spray with carby cleaner, remove the drain plug and blow everything out with the air line. Next bit if you have nt done one before (main Carb body) dont go pulling bits off without making sure you know where they go back. The pilot jet will need cleaning and main jet along with fuel shut off needle which I think is the cause of your problem. Remove all three making sure you know where they go back, spray all the jets with cleaner and thoroughly blow out with the air line, make sure you dont fling the pilot jet the other end of the shed whilst blowing it out as it will take you 6 hours to find it. Spray the inside of the carb body and jet holes/passageways opposite to fuel flow if possible and blow everything through will the air line. Refit the jets and needle and then attatch the fuel line to the carb body, dont put the float chamber on yet. Hold the carb level as it would be on the bike and hold the float tangs up so it allows the fuel needle to close, switch the fuel tap on, if fuel is still coming out the needle may be badly worn or not seating correctly due to dirt etc. If no fuel leaks take the pipe off and re fit the float chamber and carb back on.
  15. Jonno, either the floats are stuck, may be able to release them by tapping the float bowl gently or the petrol/shut off needle is dirty or again stuck. You will have to clean it all out thoroughly to be sure, 20 min job best with an air line

    Rev 3 Gearing

Been wanting to lower the gearing abit the rev3 during the past few weeks. The gearing is very good on the beta all the way through but I would prefer to use 2nd a little more in the streams and for short blasts up hills. First is so long you tend to ride just about everything in it and hooking up second seems a bit fast on most stuff and difficult to ride tight turns without clutching. Got a 43 tooth Talon rear last week along with a 50 link Renthal chain to do the job, was expecting to have to knock a link out but the 50 fits straight on and gives a 20-25mm clearance from the swing arm which will be a great help in the coming mud trials. Will be giving it a good run tomorrow for most of the day so hoping it will make a change for the better and post what I thought of it.
  17. Hell Ron, why did you write all that, cant afford a new one this year, please edit the post and say it is sh**e and not worth buying, will make me feel better
  18. Will do mate, annoying problem more than anything though
  19. Meant up there in general you getting Pedantic in your age Andy
  20. AJ, recon this post has ****** your SSDT entry for the next couple of years
  21. Heath, you old softy, got to say though probably viewed more pics of Barry than any other rider in the past few months Past, Tarres and Bosis Present Ralph and Dad, could nt imagine not riding with these two comedians, keeps me riding and laughing and hopefully staying young in the mind
  22. AJ, dont let that put you off, all the clubs I have dealt with are always very freindly and go out of their way to help new riders. Heard of this type of thing in MX but not trials, good old bunch the trials community you going to name and shame mate?
  23. Cheers Rob, filter, silencer all good, done plug chops as well all seems fine. Bike runs reallly nice could nt be better but will just blow a plug all of a sudden?
  24. Been a tough year work wise, long days and pretty much every Saturday including a few Sundays as well. Work for the past couple of weeks has been much calmer and have more time to do things I want too with the family and not feeling constantly tired all the time..Had a second Tax bill in August that I am still convinced got mixed up with Mick Jaggers so no new bike this year . Thought this morning, don
