Eiger, looks like we will be doing the Mac trial so hopefully see you there. Yours was the slippy waterfall I made sure I got up on the first lap, remember the bloke who stuck it in 3rd and went 6 feet above it and fell off just past the end cards due to the excessive launch
-
Ralph, your feet kept jumping off the pegs every time you went past the burger van and the arm pump was holding 6 sausage and egg babs most of the day. But seriously though if you want to flick about and hop have the suspension abit harder and more rebound, rocks/streams etc slack it off and less rebound and stick the flywheel weight back on if possible to calm the motor down. Like Ralph said you have to compromise abit.
-
Pretty much the same here, very quick return and the email confirmation of postage
-
Ralph! had a dab every time the forks moved ? your bloody front wheel dont touch the floor most of the time, 4 hours back wheel hopping today only time it touched the floor was when you filled the bike up and scoffed them Ginsters down.
Trials like the Reeth are in our lots opinion are just right, long way for us to travel to come and compete up North but we prefer these trials to our local southern types even though the terrain is a little alien to us. The Hipwell trial me and Ralph did last Sunday was just about right, maybe could have been a little harder in places and maybe should have done the hard route in the end but a few of the sections were a little beyond us. Did nt hop the back wheel once or the front and no need to stop in any of the sections which down here you have to be able to do really well in the Expert class.
Reeth 3 day is a challenge without having any Geoff Capes moments, would'nt bother with the journey if you went around for 20 over the three days, dont see much point in ever having just abit of a ride round at a trial, if its too easy do the hard route, if its too hard practice more or dont enter these types of trials.
-
Eddy, surely thats the whole point, keep the bike good for the next owner. Going to struggle with price if the bikes well knocked about so buying protectors where possible are a great idea and makes the bike look like it has nt done much on the resale.
-
Neveready, yer 1-2-3-4-5-6-7- and 8 I think, and the second day will have to find a really good hiding place this time
-
Was that the second camel Ralph or the first? yer looked like a big dog with a long neck, odd thing to see in the middle of nowhere, Caber,Ryan, Dad and Ian, you lads missed a great trial, would have been good practice for east Yorks, Ralph will whoop you now

What a cracking trial today, big thanks to the club and all the hard work that obviously went in to it. Definately be doing next years event and probably a few more the club holds in the year. Great bits of land and all the sections very rideable for us Southerners who come out in a rash and cold sweats when faced with greasy streams and waterfalls.
Shouted a quick hello to Andy on a section but not sure if he knew who the bloke with the funny accent was, everyone friendly observers and riders.
Ralph had a couple of nice shouts for flick turns one of which nearly cost him a five on an easy section 2 from laughing when he heard me shout it.
Pretty sure me and Ralph were first to finish and definatley first through most of the sections due to inexperience of riding slippy streams and not finding a really good hiding place for the first hour of the trial which we assume the other 100 riders managed to do. First two sections were in the start field so we did those and then went back to the van for 10-15 mins to let a few get in front of us, get to the first group and no-ones been through? Did nt really matter though seemed to be plenty of grip whilst riding but not so much whilst walking.
Ended up at the last 4-5 sections on the final lap catching riders who were still no the first lap? must learn to hide better next time and take our time abit more
We also saw 2 Camels? well Ralph saw 2 I only saw one in a field and although Ralph tried to point out the second later I still missed it!!!!
Weather was really nasty on the drive up and not that good when we got there but as soon as we started the sun came out and stayed all day. If it had kept raining the big graded hill climb would have got interesting, but turned out to be easy in the end, we dont have hills that big in Oxford and always great fun having a go at graded climbs
Thanks Again Man 17

Need a bit more info Dave ie; is this a bike you ve just bought and cant get it to run or have these problems started all of a sudden without you changing anything. When it does start does it idle ok and just dies or only when you open the twisty thing. As Barry said could be one of those really annoying tiny problems, like a split intake or blocked fuel filter or even no atmoshphere pressure going to the tank. Is the fuel pipe running ok and filling the float chamber.
-
Really great ride, pity it had to come to most cleans though, hope it gives her loads more confidence getting that close
-
Dave, will it start whilst the choke is on only, or is is cutting out when the choke is turned off. Also will it sometimes fire first kick then die or sometimes quite a few kicks before it starts. If the latter, check the woodruff on the flywheel, if its broke the bike may fire if everything lines up but as soon as the flywheel moves out of position it will die.
I Assume the bike has only just started doing this and has been fault free before or is this a bike you have just bought
-
Best not wear your favourite helmet either Ralph!
Christ I,ve got way too much time on my hands tonight
-
You take them covers out Ralph and I aint cumin, innit!
You sold that car yet mate?
-
Thanks mac, if the Man 17 is good may be up for your trial as well, some of the lads rode the D Roland this year and said the area was really good
-
Might see you there then Dave, we are definatley going now, we are in a silver transit, 2 blokes busting down cakes, fags and Redbull
-
Thanks mac, where is the trial you said about and do we need regs or is it enter on the day
-
i would have a guess at about 85 kg, its not so much the weight the new bikes have more how small they feel under you, the less weight helps when they are on top you though mainly. Power delivery is also much greater and to be honest far more than the likes of me can hope to cope with.Brother had a go on my 06 a couple of months ago and could nt beleive how much the bike gripped, last bike he had was a 90,s Beta
-
Barry, sure your not enquiring incase you do one soon.
-
Cheers Andy, great info, i will give you a wave if i get far enough up your section. I'll be the one dabbing as if me life depends on it, probably fall off as well!! Ralph will be the one doing 180 flick turns and loads of back wheel hopping for no apparent reason, you have to shout Nice!!!! if he does it in your section, its the law!!!! or Dog S**t Ralphy if he falls off
-
How you getting on with the bike screwdriver? hope it aint bad mate
-
E mail them all mate, just copy and paste and they will let you know so you can compare. Most sites are not very good with prices, dont like to show their hand to early I think.
-
Thanks for that Mark, great help
-
Dave, could do with the same answers myself, from oxford and quite a long way for us as well. Couple of days to go yet so hopefully someone will post something
-
Legend, about time you come clean mate? or are you scared?
-
PHB, the standard hangers are soft and mine are begining to bend abit, will definatley be swapping the Raptors onto the new bike next year, these things will last for years
