Hi Rob, definatley not the carb, just had it all checked out and tuned, bikes been popping plugs for ages now
. Runs perfectly throughout the rev range and idles smoothly but will suddenly do a plug for no apparent reason
I can live with it but can be a bit annoying at times, could be the ignition slightly out or the mid, end box clogged up, will try clearing out the black stuff tomorrow I think and see what happens. Plug is good whilst running but obvoiusly covered in crud when it comes out after missing for a few minutes.
-
Heath, done three plugs again the past 2 weeks? maybe time to swap the ignition I think

One of the first things I chuck in the bin after getting the bike back home, usually swiftly followed by the champion plug, side stand and lighting loom. If its just some oil level info etc you need it for just ask on here should get a pretty quick answer mate.
-
Eddie, you aint trying hard enough mate
-
Lewis, half the members would get kicked off here
-
hrc, 20 years ago, does nt time just fly, think I had a Frantic 301 then or something, big heavy thing, how the hell did we manage. Must be like us Surrey lads, dont see many streams all year, good luck
-
Thinking about getting this Ignition system for the REV3, has anyone tried it out on here? Seems like it is variable as well to suit your riding style and has a 100% non failure rate.
-
I find that very hard to beleive barry
-
Have you tried disconnecting the kill switch yet, most common problem for no spark
-
Hope not Perce, been saving up for the hangers as well, still better than stock I bet
-
Mad4it, get yourself some Raptor hangers and pegs, problem solved, you wont ever bend them things, expensive but worth every penny. Your shouting mate
-
Give em a wave if you spot any of them, good luck lads, have a great weekend, same goes for everyone else riding
-
10 yards????? more like 10 feet, hes like a kangeroo on methamphetamine up here most of the time, that shockers been up and down more times than the piston.

Ralph, Cant beleive I missed the most important thing with the Rev3, 3-20 hops on the back wheel and lots of nice flicks and kicks, bloody thing will fall apart tomorrow. Throttle! yer every ride give it a clean, makes a hell of a difference, few drops of oil down the cable as well. Sad day tomorrow, only me and Dad out, may not play at Ralphs corner out of respect

Good points all round and the idea of a seperate Forum will work better due to posts being lost or forgotten about. I dont have any issues with the ACU I can think of, pays me tenner and gets a card with a number on with an odd looking bloke who looks like hes just robbed a bank.
It will be good to be able to see other peoples ideas and issues and they can be bounced around on here and hopefully make a difference for the better. Never really give the actual running of the sport much thought as I dont compete very often anymore ,but I am sure lots of people have lots of input and hopefully constructive ones to post.
Good luck with it guys

Nice and cheap and does a great job, would recommend changing it frequently though
-
Good points Neon, most of us clean the carb every ride, do notice them not quite running as they should if they arnt. Flywheel cover a must, usually loads of water or moisture in there. Eddy, why dont you recommend cleaning the filter regualry? if its dirty it needs cleaning, effects the fuel air mix quite abit if its full of *****
-
Well worth getting the carb mod done mate, saves knocking the tap off and on everytime you stop.
Eddy, have you ever tried the Raptor pegs? just about indestructable, dont fill with mud like the standard ones and seem to provide better stance and balance on the bike. Expensive but worth the money I recon
-
Nice one mate, keep a good eye on the disc bolts, have a habit of coming loose as well as the rear bash plates ones and exhaust bracket. Keep the carby nice and clean and may be worth changing the stock kill switch for an after market one, I was warned about it and its worked good for the past six months but let me down twice on the weekend so swapping it tonight.
If you can save some notes get some Raptor pegs they make a big difference to the riding and plug up the hole in the rear mudguard where the loom used to go through for the lights.
If its p***ing out petrol get BVM or Lampkins to do the carb mod, well worth it along with the float extension bowl.

Steve, personally if i had a chain so stretched you had to take a link out I would bin it mate to be sure. A busted chain half way up a big climb or step will cause alot more damage to you and the bike than

Tiler, good shout about RY DVD, been riding a few years now and found the video one of the best for technique, has helped me alot lately. Sorted out a lot of bad habits I picked up over the years, difficult to teach an old dog new tricks but it is working
-
Should be able to buy a 1 and a half link for the Regina chain, should sort the problem out

How about setting one route for the trial but having two sets of end cards, one in the middle of the section roughly for the easier course (and before the big step) and the hard route rides further on up over the nasty stuff. May have to lengthen the sections abit for the two classes to have plenty to do, but could make things easier for the club to organise and mark. Could even give the clubman riders the option of getting a score doing the hard route as well to see what the course is actually like to ride and not interfere with their actual clubman entry. If they clean their part of the section they could ride on and see how well they would have done on the hard route. Gives the clubman the chance to ride the harder sections and improve without having a nightmare day and never do it again. If you dont fancy a big step just ride through your end cards and out of the section, fancy having a go, keep going, observer could mark seperately the clubmans hard route score.
I would have enjoyed most of the Hipwell sections on the hard route but some were out of my depth so I rode the easier course, this would have given me the chance to ride the hard sections I felt confident on and had a good day riding harder sections some of the time, rather than struggle like hell doing the hard route only.
