  1. Nigel, I'd have to agree with that, they have found a vast market for cheap (not bad products) I have a Chinese genny that has been going faultlessly for three years now and many hours on the clock, bought new for 140 quid. If I want quality I buy quality, if I want something that's cheap and does the job it will more than likely be Chinese.
  2. They've always held vast currency reserves, always will, they are very clever people to be honest, at the rate they are expanding, they will be the worlds largest economy in less than a decade (2nd earlier this year). As above, the money supply is shrinking in the UK, that is a sign of a depression, less money in the economy, the BoE is trying to keep the supply high via quantitative easing which is causing inflation, a cycle that has no good outcomes for many of us.
  3. A quick answer, The money supply keeps falling, the BoE keeps giving the Banks more money to cure the falling money supply, its causing inflation which is devaluing Sterling. (not rising prices) Inflation can't be cured in the normal way by raising interest rates though, Merv predicts inflation at 2% or below next year, which means creating inflation is not working and he's giving up on printing money. 2012 will be much ****ter than we have seen for many years. We have been falling into a depression since 2008, we saw it actually happen just after the crash, nothing they do is curing it, double dip by the end of March.
  4. Swap it for a Renthal, I've seen plenty of Iris chains break over the years, a snagging chain guard may be the least of your worries if the Iris decides to let go.
  5. I watched it on Saturday, it was brilliant, Senna was a true racer, devoted to his country and helping his people. It hadn't occurred to me just how short a career he had in F1, always thought he'd been there for years and years, well worth watching, I rented it online for 3 quid.
  6. 07 Greg, year doesn't matter much with a fat lass
  7. Quick trip up to the dishes today to see the lads, had 30 mins on Dads Mont, felt like a comfy armchair as usual, hopefully have mine Saturday
  8. Thanks Jimmy yes she only does 1 in 4 strokes, nice and slow, and makes a fair bit of noise when opened up
  9. Great to see you've all been posting and keeping the thread going, should have some good uns shortly
  10. Donna sounds a great name mate, and yes Gerty has gone to a much better jockey these days. Forms filled in bud, and the practice membership, Donna it is then
  11. Dan, looking forward to it mate, be a good laugh, as you say, bout bleedin time
  12. Hey up all, bit of an enforced break since last July as many of you will know, and time has come to take the short trip down the Stroud to possibly collect Gerty2? Dirty Donna? Been missing not having a bike for quite a few weeks now (going to watch the Colmore didn't help) so ACU form filled in, ESTC membership forms going off Monday and hopefully bike in shed this time next week.
  13. Best explanation I have seen so far Jimmy, lowering the gearing gives a rider more time and more control over the bike in normal riding, a higher gear ratio speeds everything up. In road racing you gear a bike so the rev range is kept in maximum power/acceleration at all times and when you change gear the drop in revs does not go below the bottom of the power curve. Trials and road racing have nothing to do with each other in gearing.
  14. did'nt read to good to me either mate sorry, I'll try again, If the Colmore was set out exactly the same as Sunday under the stop allowed rules the odd stop here and there wouldn't have mattered, the problems with stop allowed events are they set out so stopping is a necessity like the section in video two. I saw a fair few sections on Sunday, pretty much all of them wouldn't have benefited from stopping for any length of time at all so I expect the scores would have been pretty much the same
  15. I saw alot of stops on the day, mainly the better lads and they got away with it, lower down the field they did'nt but I have to say Dan Thorpe is the master of non stop even on the above mentioned section 5. The main reason I did'nt observe this year is down to the rules, would I have given Sam a 5?............nope, I dont want the hassle of confrontation but I would have let all the others do the same if the time stopped was only very brief. As I have said before, as long as the CoC set trials out as non stop but the rules allow stopping all will be well, the problems happen when a trial is set out with stop allowed in mind ans sections can only be ridden non stop. Great day and huge credit again to the Stratford Team for organizing such an event, difficult conditions as ever in February changing by the hours the week before and on the day, looking at the scores the club got things right again Good to catch up with Pete and club after quite a few months and finally meet Jimmyl
  16. The world may have reached Peak Oil recently, expect less of this sort of sport in the near future and
  17. H&D upgraded the bash plates last year I think, I had a previous plate and it bent quite easily, I swapped for the upgraded one and its really strong
