  1. Hi all , I carfually installed with dish soap water ,add air , drain air , go to 20 psi ,ck , then 25 psi , to 35 psi , , I must have purchased a run of bad tires , on sale mf Shinko ,,,,,there all over ebay , looks popular brand , well , one bubbled near valve tem , and would not seat on other end ot tire , one of other tires just would not seat ,, and pull up ,, these two where Shinko ,,,,the other brand is kenda , it just made a buble near stem area , ,, very mind blowing , all new tires from ebay , there were on sale 50$ usd each , I working on building a 121 pursang , have looking in my used parts front wheel , upon checking , , installing spinning each , , just found more work , like rebuilding a new front wheel , , trials bikes , I sure are very hard on front rims , go up creaks full rocks pot holes , guys thanks for the tips , cheers
  2. Wheels,,, all three of these wheels are bent , don’t know what to think dirt bike used equals # , always check front wheel , up in the air spin around , c k , , and I purchased some tires on flee bay , new , shrink is one brand will never purchase again 2 tires deformed , upon installing , was 50 $ dollar tire new , both same brand deformed ,, upon installing on rim ,, think there made in Asia Taiwan ,, , if I do math that 3 new tires cost 150. USD deformed , upon purchase flee bay , $ and having problem with bent rims ,,,,,, fk fkfk,,,,,, , some of these are for my mk 4 mod 68 pursang , it runs , ,,,,,, CHEERS
  3. Iconic 558 , that a nice example 348 ,I like montesa , nice looking sharp , , engines when running ok , there usually very strong ,, , sure you gave it a test ride before purchase , , I have a few montesa projects , , like them all , vintage , , well cheers good luck new bike
  4. So a model 42 has a y frame on bottom and 48 has up graded frame , both heavy , some one quoted , red bike was a copy , it sold at auction ,,,,, so the original , bultaco riden by Fonda ? Probably in some ones collection , just an thought ,,cheers

  8. It’s all good , stpauls , don’t think it’s original bike , , ,, sold for original ',,,,,,,,, I just started looking , my interest , rebuilding a model 48 bultaco pursang engine , I just purchased on flee bay ,it’s all there ,, going to do a crank berings install ,,replace , ? , cylinder piston seals , , doing a lot of , cleaning , it was shipped from los vegas , , has old stile clutch side covers , on both sides , maby post a picture ,today , ,,, ho just purchased engine on my birthday ,,, fo me a new bul project ,,,, YA ,,,cheers
  9. I look and looked , it’s different must be a 42 , , what info I found there was 2 Bultaco’s , , a spare if other did not start , no photos or frame numbers for other , there was papers invoice for the 480510, pictured on line , by there studio ,, you know ,some times ,, wrighters , make up stories , on hear say , , , and there very good at it , , that what they do , a little fantasy , make things interesting ,, feetupfun , thanks for looking
  10. Thanks for info feetupfun , I was looking at the lower frame , around lower motor mounts , ? Is it a model 42 or 48 ,, I thinking it’s a 42 frame , , can barley see it , ,, don’t see a front tube ,in front of lower motor mount , what you think
  11. Motovita , your right back wheel is not same , for a prop bike that cost 60-70 thou , in 2019 ,, something little fishy
  12. It’s came out of museum the red restored , and sold at auction , for big bucks , like years ago ,it’s suppose to be the same bike , ya front wheel looks like maby 21 inch other ,19 inch , fuel line very close cylinder , , thanks feetupfun
  13. This restored ? Is in my opinion questionable the same bike ,, model 480510 sold as easy rider bike on bohamas auctions , do you see the differences , and on other side it has mk2 up pipe exhaust ,, I working on 48 engine , and started looking for a frame , some one on line said it was a copy , and not the original , ridden by Fonda , , so I found clip on handle bars , chain guard , front wheel hub , spokes different , fork tube has brake tang , seat , little torn , ,, and if mk3 why mk2 exhaust up pipe ,
  14. Hi , I had clutch drag different brand model , , dissembled clutch scuffed disc and re ass , it still drag , a little , engine old 1972 ish , well pulled clutch in , shift into first , raved up engine , could feel a little pull , clutch lever is still pulled ,, and it stoped the dragging , I did this with brake on , it might work for you ,noticed when bikes not used for periods of time clutch disc stick , and housing can be worn , a vr73 I have clutch disc froze , sitting for years , in frozen Shead , , engine ran , but ,,, when clutch was attempted to use it broke the clutch drive ,, nut right off the shaft ,, a Rickman montesa , I purchased , , a real barn find now engine is dissembled , haven’t got back to it yet , fix another , bultaco ,Cheers
  15. I amazed to find others with old matadors early #4 I purchased one ebay say 5 years ago had it shipped across us , Florida to wash state , in pieces , engine complete , cost 600 to ship , 600 to purchase , it was some ones racer , not complete stock , upon inspection , not numbers matching , engine turned over nice engine , , , so far it’s been painted. , used tank purchased , it’s stached ,,,in my collection , another # 4 engine frame with title purchased , shipped from Montana , it’s was a good deal , nice engine complete , , so ,, upon little more time passed , another came up on ebay , a model 26 complete engine & frame project , I can’t believe it , new points cond , and piston rings , got engine running , on back deck ,, , , ,, noticed casing on left side would not just fit any bultaco frames ,like Alpina ,extended casing .. , don’t think 4 speed make a good trials bike , , would do good on gravel or paved road , could put 60 t sprocket on back , and original handle bars , , just to low ,,, !, ,,, the frame is like early Sherpa ,, really , really strong , , have purchased couple matador junk engines on ebay for parts , , # 140 and another forgot numb, a give away prices , like 100, excluding shipping usd ,, , I think 140 flywheel stator , is mounted on a pursang engine I building ,, , I like points cond, ignition , affordable , well that all …. hope I did not bore you to much , , I personally like the ,, very early Bultaco’s , there not to many around , ,, I also purchased a short block Sherpa # 2 ,, just engine , ya mf 1962 or so ,, project , well Cheers march 20 2022
