On Motors TV (Sky Ch 413) at 9.00pm is an hour long documentary on Royal Enfield.
-
Given that most people think its identical to a Sherco, a Sherco with a sticker kit would probably fool a lot of people. any half decent graphics place would soon be able to put a sticker kit together.
And im not a gambling man but I would put money on if some people rode it they would come back saying it wasnt as good as there Sherco
-
Perhaps someone might turn up with a Sherco wearing a Xispa sticker kit, that should confuse a lot of people.
-
Easily, I go there a lot to practise my falling off, its only 30mins from my house.
Dont know how much you saw of it, I had to work this weekend and couldnt get there, but you could easily have a 1 lap 50 section trial there and probably 1 the week after and not use the same section twice.
But it is seeing a lot of pressure recently, lots of MX charging around upsetting the walkers, hopefully things will calm down and they wont start restricting its use.
-
If you click on the % a little window opens with notes about your warning, except mines empty, this is great, somethng do do with trials and i've finaly got a clean
-
Royal Enfield also do a diesel bike, and all the parts to convert a standard enfield to the trials version will fit, wouldnt fancy being stuck queing for a section behind it though.
-
Are we talking all the way up?
-
Like i said ive gone back to the original rear shocks, my forks stick through the top yoke 15mm (not including the nuts) my footrests are an inch further back and about 1 1/2 inches lower than standard, ive done some work on the fork springs and i find it to be much more stable than it ever was, especialy over rocks/streams etc, I weigh about 13st.
-
Nice bike, how does it handle? I tried betor shocks on mine (slightly longer) and it made the front end head shake far worse than it was before. Even moving the forks up and down made no difference (yours look like about 5mm sticking through the top yoke).
When i fell off and manage to bend one of my rear shocks i went back to the originals and it feels so much better, especialy over rocks.

All it needs is the ACU to issue a press release imilar to what they have just done for the sidecars:
It was reported that at the 2nd round of the ACU Sidecar Championship last Sunday a number of sidecars did not comply to the ACU specification with regard to the nose cone/overall length and the size and height of the seat.
With respect to the nose cone/length of the outfit - competitors are to be given until the 4th round on April 6th to comply and the 1st round in 2009 to comply with the seat requirement.
The dimensions for an approved sidecar are available from the ACU Trials & Enduro department.
Now a simple thing like that except regarding twinshocks modifications will put an end to it before it starts, cant the ACU get there act together and come up with some simple and understandable rules regarding moddifying twinshocks and do it now before it goes the way the Pre 65 sems to have done, if they wait 10yrs then it will be impossible to ever change it back.

He also does the Mini Majesty frame for
-
There quite well run and fairly easy going if you just getting back into it, i'll be the one underneath the TY175 if i see you i'll say hello.
-
Lakes grass track, easter monday its a bit easier than the Lancs one get yourself there its not far.
-
Zarkoff, just out of interest that wasnt you at the Lancs County trial on sunday with the Armstrong was it?
-
There was a TY175 restoration faetured in the first few issues of Classic Dirt Bike, the guy there fitted a new front pipe and a new middle box the problem was that the front pipe is smaller so it fits inside the original box and the new middle box has a slightly larger diameter as its designed to fit over the original front pipe, the result is that using 2 new parts results in a gap that requires a spacer as its impossible to clamp them together without there being a gap.
-
I'm guessing you mean the 175 version, basically the steering head angle is slightly steeper, the frame tubes under the engine arent there, the shock are laid down more and the rear loop for the mudguard isnt there either, thats more or less it.
This is what the 175 version looks like
-
Thanks Jordi.
Looking at that Majesty and where the exhaust pipe sticks out, is it going to foul the rear shocks on a standard bike?
-
Nice, what rear suspension units are they?
-
Its your browser, it took me ages to get it, but well worth it.
Great to watch and not an alloy fork slider or billet hub in sight
-
-
Find out if they really have them first, i ordered one 6mth ago and i'm still waiting for them to email me to tell me its in stock!!
-
Well if your married then your wife will probably have a 3rd choice that you will end up doing
-
MV Agusta 850 Monza.
If you meant trials then I would settle for a majesty frame and some decent forks & brakes on my TY175
-
Or you could throw then in the direction of a TY175 owner who would realy like some 250 forks, me.
-
Classic Dirt Bike magazine Here, in the last issue there was quite a good article on Craig Mawlem, who now supplies Majesty frames and bits.
From the article "and hes working with Mick Whitlock on a longer swinging arm for mini majestys" the standard swinging arm fit the majesty frame so the longer one should fit the standard frame.
You could email him and ask when they are likely to be ready.
