Day 1 at section 11 , Fajardo was staged when Blazusiak let out a yelp . One of the locals came to the rescue climbing up the boulder at the entrance poking around in the crevice with a 6 inch stick . He made the grab and started pulling out a 5 foot snake ( it might have been 4 foot before he started , the snake didn't want to come out ! ) He then jumped off the rock with the snake hanging by it's tail ( snake wasn't too happy at this point ) The look on Blazusiak's face was priceless . Fajardo was shaking his head and muttering something about " Americans " ! He then dropped it into gear and proceeded to clean the section .
" Shoot , it wuz jesta Rat Snake , I wuz hopin' it wuz a big ol' Copper " !
He must of been from Alabama .

I was at # 15 on day 1 and witnessed ( One of ) ' Incidents ' .
She had a H*ll of ride , but apparently the crowd ( including me ) missed the the roll back . There was some confusion , but fur wuz a flyin' and the minder got into the act to boot .
Just before the awards , I observed a heart to heart talk with her / FIM Officials and the orgainizer.
All I can , is on Sunday , she might could of talked a Tennesee Highway Patrolman out of a parking ticket .
But I tell ya' what . There wasn't anyone there that didn't want to see her kick butt , but I hand my hat to the Observers for stickin' to their guns .

Doing a little research ...
Roy Bacon's Illustrated Triumph Buyers guide has a picture of a ' Cheetah ' framed Cub ( 1969 ) and mentions that were other firms that made similar models , so it might not be suprising ( rare though )to find an original Otter .
Looking at Don Morley's Classic British Trials Bikes , it shows a C15 with a frame conversion built by Scott Ellis ( BSA factory rider ? ) circa 1966 . Quoting ; " It is available today in replica form as the Otter conversion ".
hmmm.. Wonder if this would establish precedent for qualification for Pre-65 ?

.... ....
It was my understanding that the bush that the actuating arm goes thru is not centered . He asked how my brakes were and I said not too bad ( I had replaced the shoes ) . Then you must have a good one .
FWIW
-
It's been a while but , I talked to a fellow at Serco ( was that Ray Small ? ) He talked about centering the bush on the backing plate . He said that the quality control was not the best and with some , it made an improvement .
