  1. Dear Mr. Studious , It has been ....well, ...many Moons since I have confided in your vast and infinite wisdom . With all and many apologies , I humbly submit that if you ever happen to cross paths with the " One Legged One " !! .....! Tell him to "GIVE ME A FRIGGIN CALL "!... please Yer Bud, JT
  2. OSET 16.0 Brakes: I changed the front disk for a new one (identical to bicycle specifications and cost as little as $10). That was plenty, but because the front caliper adapter is similar to my Specialized Enduro 2005 mountain bike, I then got a 205mm (larger) rotor, caliper, and adapter. As a result, I can make the 16.0 come to a complete stop from full speed in less than a bike length. Stoppies are too easy now. Just picked up a 16.0 for the Grand kiddies . Second hand ,but in good shape . put it on the bench to give it a once over and was a bit puzzled that the rotor just sorta woobles around the splined hub ? Is there no retainer or just the way it is ? Didn't come with a manual (have to get one ) . I was wondering about the'Dead Zone ' throttle too . All in all , a Cool Tool . Anxious to do some schooling with the tykes , but "visiting hours" don't always permit .
  3. Lot to be said there , specially when you've got the opportunity to get 1st hand training in yer' own backyard ! ( if you got nothing out of it , the fried turkey was well worth the entry ! ) Ask Brockway , He's gonna kick yer' butt ! Ryan covered "Old School " and although there are similarities ...Things have changed . I'm not against discussion , it's much easier to talk about it than doing it .
  4. We hosted Ryan Young just this weekend ( ) and foot position is one THE basics . Turn initiation is thru the pegs where you use leverage to advantage . Balancing the scales was a phrase that's next to impossible to do if you're locked in . Every Clubman should have his training video ......
  5. Wet and Muddy at Mid-O . http://www.motolenzphotos.com/photos/midoh...ls/P7265166.JPG Sorry Andy , don't know how to insert with the clicky link thingy .

    Mini Majesty

Looks like B&J has them . Would there be a difference between the Majesty and a standard ?

    Mid-ohio

No I haven't given up . Mid-Ohio is probably the crown jewel for AHRMA as I believe it to have the largest entry and a huge spectator turn out ( they love it ! ) That said , it was a bit....frustrating , showing up and finding that there was no one in charge and little time . I think that the new(er) regime has to up their learning curve a bit .

Alan , No offense taken what so ever . It was just that what started out as another Trial , turned about ....so to speak . What we did ( you included ) was what had to be done , if it was to have been at all . The AHRMA issue is ...well...something that may not ever get resolved , There is not (enough ) any money to be had from the Trials community , it seems in their eyes .... I s'pose I've said more than I should . It didn't help matters when me m8 took a header from a dead branch falling out of a tree . We were at the emergency for 3 hours thursday night ! Anyway , as far as #3 ... It was a sumb*tch wasn't it !

It was really nice to work with you and to meet your significant other , Donna You are great people and will look forward to seeing you in the future ! P.S. I plan on being there Thurs. to help clear the debris . Last year the back sections were blocked by fallen trees . It really is the best part and yes , Bob is a Master of Sectional Deviation !

    Tl 125 Help Please

Just from memory ( which gets shorter all the time ) You'll find a TDC and a BTD mark on the flywheel , with an adjacent mark on the case somewheres . Tdc should be used setting the valves . BDC is when the points open . You can use a meter or light at rest or a timing light with the motor running . Seems there was a 3rd mark for the advance . The points plate can be rotated to set . Points gap needs to be set 1st . The points cam rotates on a shaft w/ advance wieghts/springs behind the plate . Should be able to reach in there and check that it's free. This Site should be helpful. http://www.kaila.net/tl125/index.html

    Tl 125 Help Please

Might want to check that the advance isn't seized . Adjust the cam chain and then check the timing . The Honda "cough" seemed to be a "design feature ", but properly tuned not a big issue .
  16. Congrats to Daiki and Yuki Wantanabe ! Good job guy's !
  17. You can make one with an 8mm bolt and stack some nuts w/12mm heads. Best if you braze/weld them tight. Just a bolt with the right size head and vise grips has done the job . FWIW

    Mystery Revs

Okay , I'm a bit thick . Wasn't sure it to be an April fools thing . What does a car wash have to do with it all , especially causing the clutch to become inoperative ?

    Mystery Revs

Space time continual comes to mind . Possible close encounter with the TWILIGHT ZONE !
  20. Looks like a Yamaha TT 500 tank , modified to fit maybe a B50 ? . Just a guess . Have you tried a Google on David Green ?

    Hard Rock

Can't say that I had " Tons O' Fun " . The delayed start time from 10 am -230 pm was a blessing in that it afforded time to salvage what we could of the camp with 6-8 inches of flood water rushing thru . I remember the terror in my Wifes eyes , that surely we were going to swept away ! (The 8x12 camp carpet remains as part of the Florida realestate under 3 inches of mud ) The curse being that no one seemed to know if it was going to be canceled or what and after lunch and couple of brewski's it didn't seem to matter much anyways . Needless to say , by the time it started the spirit wasn't there and after the first section I couldn't see with /without my D*mn glasses . After the "Water Hole " at section 6 , things really went to hell after that . Just a matter of slogging thru . I was actually happy I was riding the shortest Event ever and glad I didn't bring the Cub . Just wasn't a good start for a vacation . On the positive side , my buddy Lawrence , took his class and Sunday the Sun came out . Would I ?...Yep , you bet !
  22. Will there be a "Vintage Friendly " line ?
  23. So then was the story of the fellow that was drunk , decided to climb the steel tower structure for a transmission powerline (345K volts ) . Got up there and decided he needed to relieve himself ...Yup ! leaked down on the wire ( 10 feet below ) . Definate Darwin candidate .
  24. Hey All , Got a project coming coming my way from my Buddy's ( whose passed away ) Son , to get the Ol' girl running again . Apparently needs a kick start shaft for starters ( no pun intended ) . Couple questions . Wasn't that a 1987 model and where might be the best source here in the States ? Any worthy mods anyone might be aware of ? Cheers ,
