  1. No, 2-3 years as I recall, possibly more! Not 4-6 Months for a season! He took the top instructor position at TTC for a year or more.
  2. Came across this today as well! Could be Ham a few years back, I figure!
  3. I do not know that my provincial attitude is any different than the Euro Championships as best I understand it. Our series is about Us! Our riders that are trying hard and such. We do have some talent, but just kicking the s--t out of these kids will not teach them anything. One of the other things that is important, is the fact that the US sponsors usually pay bonus money to riders depending upon their placement in events and series... Having a Dougie come over here and take a few wins for his own ego(and the manufacturer pushing the brand) is like taking candy from a baby! They loose the position and the money associated with it, and what exactly does Doug gain? Another pin on the wall? If money were no object, we just put a better rider on X-bike, and nothing is gained. They take the money home, our kids still are lacking, worked their asses off, got them kicked, went home broke and broken for their effort. Go figure!
  4. Oh , I see! Obviously I should have said he was a Junior and Senior Champ in Spain! Somewhere! Did I ever tell you I was a Central Regional Champ once too! Oh well, never mind. All point being , he was a good competitor here. I am not sure if he ever pulled a win on Geoff Aaron, but Bruce LeRiche did, at least once, but he was a resident as well.
  5. Most everyone uses 5wt fork oil it seems.
  6. I think I should have said Spanish Junior champ. Try to figure this. Biograf
  7. Oh he has been, a bit! I think if I had to put everything in a nutshell, competing in WTC or major euro trials is economically unfeasonable for most. Bottom line, it don't pay ****!
  8. Good to hear from Ron on this. I hope he gets some good sponsorship money in the enduro thing. Hell, I could quickly run out of money just trying to watch all that! I hope he stays in the trials, yet at the same time, I think a lot will depend upon schedules and budjets! Unless one has a magic FREE pass!
  9. Well, he can stay here any time, ride endurocross or whatever. But, if riding a US National series, I still think a non-comp or exhibition status is sufficient for a still top WTC rider. He has nothing to proove here, just have a good time and hang with the kids! Now they are over 18, one can legally beat their asses without them calling child abuse!
  10. Hell, I don't know! You are the historian! What did he do?
  11. Probably best taken to the Sherco forum, as there are several here to give good advise! Cheers,
  12. Welcome back! Yes, well that 2.9 can bite you! And after a long layoff such as yourself, I found much the same, it is not just you! First thing is to get a SLOW throttle tube on the thing! Feel free to join the Sherco threads for more info, as this has all been covered before, and we will again. Cheers, MC
  13. First part of this may be for fellow aviators, yet the second could relate to the trail blasters and enduro riders amongst us! Ever had a tree reach out and grab you? My link
  14. Looks good enough for what it is, still it may need some work, yet there is a limit to what you get for that price. price a new one! Overall, and as these things go, there sre few things a few quid won't fix. Even on a budjet!
  15. Looks to be a 99 or 2000 model, certainly not newer.
  16. I would hate to p*** this guy off ! You need to come down, let us know!
  17. I heard dat! I gotta admit, after the recent refreshment, I cannot get pickels ang garbage out of my head. Another year! The last song, When a Solder Makes it Home, well, I still think it timeless!
  18. I is ironic, daughter flew up from FL(school) to indy for thanksgiving weekend with boyfriend and fam. Dad sits at home paying bills!, but that was not one of them!
  19. This is true, yet at the same time, I cannot recall anything of any current make that is incompatable with aluminum. Magnesium cased bikes have their own problems because the material is soo corrosive by nature. Long story made short, the corrosion inhibitors wear out eventually in all. Rule one, do not mix breeds here. Flush well and start clean. They do not always mix well. I just use a standard ethylene glycol(green) with distilled water, change anually!
  20. Biff, I think it a bit ironic that you mention me, as most anything I might spell out is usually short and sweet! My two typing fingers ger tired! quick! I actually did a read/ scan through this guys adventure. All I can say is he is IS on the edge! I have spent some quality time in central Mexico and felt more secure! That place is just nuts! Not for me! Once again, at the same time I say this, my daughter has done one missions trip to Africa, and the wifey is currently planning another to Angola , I think? Medical mission. All this makes me question this guys sense of adventure, seems he has no real purpose other than getting himself accross. Spending his time and money to enjoy himself. Risk his and his spouse lives. And on the backs of the missionaries. Whatever gets you off! Not sure here, yet still a great read! Not for me!
  21. Could be, all depends upon what's in it! Once again, might call someone like Chris at Splatshop to compare. Some gaskets you may not need, depending?
  22. Yes, I believe the spec is 10Nm, I have seen the studs swist off at 10ft/lb. Use caution here. The rest makes sense! Should get you on track. BTW, seems obvious you have some machinist capability. I have a "04 125 head that is a bit beat up, yet recoverable if you want to play with it!
