Yes, I seen that on DK. I figure the only reason he did it was to get rid of that lump! Just how much Power do you need in a Downlill race?
Yes, that is what they ride, because that is what is available by the makers. Do you not think as well that they are nothing but a dressed MX bike? Not that a trials motor is totally up to the job, but you see, there is no trade here.
For an average rider wanting to do trails and woods, as an old style Enduro bike would, these things both 2T and 4T are just simply radical high maintenance WOT go fast machines, not neccerily light nor agile, nor torquey.
Top world riders may even like'em, but I have yet to find the balance here, or a use for a full on bike for recreational use!

Trials today is about as similar as to when it started as a whores dream. Face it, you still got a bunch of old f-sticks on obsolete bikes, then you got another group o-them on outdated bikes, then you got a mix of them on old and new bikes just because the have one shock!
Then you wand to set the grandfather rules to all, go figure!
No wonder there is a quandery?

It is a bit ironic, but back when the little 125 first came out, there was a local dealer that took it to a regional event. Many putted about on it, thinking it a bit odd.
Ray Peters was there, took it on a demo ride round the Experts lines and cleaned every section with it! Did take some work and above local Expert skill level, but it was done! The little bike will perform! And the larger version will do even more!

It just seems to me that the Enruro bikes are really nothing but an MX bike with lights! Seem large with too much suspension, cumbersome, with no torque on the things as they are too revvy, and no flywheel! Allways spinning up, as it seems the only way to get any power to the ground is to dig a rut! Jst nuts! All seem to be a lump on the scales!
I just do not think anyone has come up with a right combination. The Scorpa T-ride looks plausable but heavy. Not sure about a Pampera.
I would not even want to go through those enduro sections on a trials bike after they go through. Seems they just destroy everyting in sight! After running the Last Man Standing here, the course and wood trails are still a mess years later! Entire hillsides look like a WWI battleground!
-
Even tough it seemed DK dit twist the throttle a bit on the downhill, this theory seems totally plausable! And amazing!
-
Feck them, I want to see more Lesbians!

Having read all this, I see some light via Telecat!
Although my personal life within the trials is short as compared to many, as within this decade, we here were once under the no-stop rules for a period of time. As a new rider at the time, I found it somewhat offensive, as the slightest pause or hesitation within a section could get you a 5, reguardless of your ride. Rule of the day for many was to disreguard momentary stops, count to three, like the Scottish! but many were not that generious! 5!!!
I am old, cannot hop, may occasionally pause to regain composure within a complex section. If lucky, I can balance! If I do , well? jnhj! 5! In the end, total BS!
Can I just take a rest for a 1 if I can? Please! If I was on a good day and did manage a rear hop in the section, could I justtake 2? Can the marginal old f-stick take the slight hesitation without a 5?
If taken to rights, if the spokes stop moving, you are done!

I have thought quite a bit about all this over time. It is a difficult situation in many respects. Attracting new riders, continuity of courses, creating courses and sections that are balanced to the riders, distant riding areas and such.
It is an absolute confunction in many respects, and does seem to require much out of the few, and a lot out of the rest!
Seems here, for the sake of economy our trials here have been condensed into State and Regional weekend events only, only the regulars attend, and the lines are set tough as per the group.
Even sending a guide out with a group of kids and rookies and newbies seems insufficient, as a newbie needs to be escorted round with attention and detail, even adults, so that they get the hang of it with a bit of coaching and guidence on a personal level.
Seems many times, family or friend riders are not allowed to ride together due to class limitations. This just does not set right with me. Although group riding and scoring may seem boring to some of the Hot Dog riders, they forget that their help and input in coaching the lesser riders is important in its own sense. For many that is when we can have the best times with the groups and enjoy the company.

Not sure if he got the Sarah Jessica Parker joke!
I am still waiting to see one of them vuvusela's(sp)!!!!

As in the 2010 application, the restricter would be used to dampen the pulses a bit, as combined with the smaller fuel valve to limit potentially overpowering the valve as you are now pushing fuel into it as compared to gravity feed. All based upon the pressures and flow.
In the conventional application, the higher fuel valve is needed and no need for a restrictor, yet as long as it is larger than the fuel valve should be no issue.

Go to TTC and rent a bike !!! Ride every day till you puke!

My 2 C!
Even hough you might have a bit of paracitic drag when pulled fully in on many bikes, you need to keep the true engagement point a bit off the fingers when fully in, and keep the real working range out a bit so the best finger range is square in your mid knuckle in its optimum range of operation!
Make sense?

With all the recent BS about gays in the military, this was sent today by a friend and fellow member. It did have a bit of ritual slagging to go with it, yet the pic says it all!
Put them alltogether and send them off, well trained front line troops!
Cannot wait to see the patch for the (kiss the muff) lesbo group!

Yes, the 2001 was a much better bike!
-
Neo, I will you my basic thoughts here.
I would not expect much difference between the VHST 26 and a 26 OKO, as the basics are the same. One could spend a lot of time and money to achieve the same basic result.
Seems for a long time, the Dellortos 26 were compared to the 28mm Kiehins, which is just different in dynamics, due to the bore.
as I understand the new VHST carbs are coming in 28mm config. This may be good for top end, but I think they will still have the biting points of the 28 K carbs.
Although overall the Dells seem more steady and less finicky, not as precise, and that is a trade.
I should add that I am still on the 24 OKO on the 2.9, just cannot get off it! Yet I hav had fits getting it right. It is on the edge in this aplication, yet still smooth, quick, and more power than I need.
-
Answer, Yes, yet I think a 200 would better fit your needs! Big Puss bike!

Try this linkey,My link
Answer, NO!

Adrian got a lot of HEAT for bringing over Morris. Ask him!
I am sure he did, for the same reasons. That was then and now is now! And that was another potential Crosset story, averted.
Spanyards teach Mexicans today via the internet! How do you think Pat knows what he does? The kid emulated everything, every move, on every bike, and practiced it! He may have more tricks than Bou!
Cody is the same way, and is a powerhouse of a rider! With a steady approach!
On any given day, putting it all into application is the key. A brain fart can get you!
There are a few younger kids the same way that are moving up now. Ray P. has a big target on his ass, and has for years now. It seems a bit ironic, but some of them do need to get a grip, as trick riding will not get you past Ray! Strong basics are a huge building block.
-
Be easy on him, he just has no social skills. Likely to find him making bombs in the basement!
-
The only other logic I can apply to this is that the last friction plate being set there in a position of minimal movement could have something of a stabilizing effect on the pack, particularly at extreme high rpm where chatter could develop.
I have heard clutches chatter up at revs, make an odd sound and drag a bit, though disengaged. 10,000 + rpm is a non issue here.
-
Did you try cracking the bleeder to release any residual pressure, as suggested? If so, and you have new factory springs installed, then the only thing I can think of mechanically in the basket would be severe grooving from the previous plates where they contact the basket, not letting things settle and snagging the plates. A file will fix that!
If I can run mine on 4 springs without slippage, you should easily be able to run 6 springs, I would think!
-
Which is what Patrick did this year, went, had a good week, came home. BROKE! Good week!
Roumours of Cody doing the deal? All good till the money runs out!
This ain't MX, and it ain't 30 years ago!
Go find the money! It is not there!
Yes, I would love to see Dougie here, but you can bet he will not be here to do trials! That would be nothing but filler, just as Tommi popping into a trials between his Expo event schedule! They just want to go ride too! Non Comp is fine because all they want is a fun and safe ride. Rest assured the trials is not going to pay enough to fix broken bones!
When we DO get the kids together, such as at TTC training camp, that is when they really do learn, and push each other. Problem here is the fact that we are indeed so spread accross the country that that this seldome happens outside of the events themselves. And time is short.
Do you actually think the US importers have the money to sponsor a season in Europe for the riders?
I am much more inclined to think we should start an exchange program with the youth riders, with bonafide sponsors, or there will be nothing! Even this is radical, Put up a couple grand to bring them over, feed and house them for a while and get them to a decent practice area or a couple trials, a month is gone and time to go. Adrian did it!
-
I am starting to get into the holiday spirit again. I found this stuff at the Dollar store.
Cheap Elvis gifts made in China, and some excellently embossed bum wad!
It really works well. Does not ball up and stick to the bum like that soft tushy crap the wifey puts in the holder. I'll be ok till this runs out!

One of the lads a while back had an interisting suggestion. He used an expanding anchor bolt such as used in concrete anchors to lock into the stubborn bearing. Gives you something to beat it out then!!!!
I think they are 17mm or roughly 11/16 in.
