A man joined a very exclusive nudist colony. On his first day he
took off his clothes and started to wander around the area. A
gorgeous petite blonde walked by, and the man immediately got an
erection.
The woman noticed his erection, came over to him and asked, "Did
you call for me?"
The man replied, "No, what do you mean?"
She said, "You must be new here. Let me explain. It's a rule here
that if you get an erection, it implies you called for me."
Smiling, she lead him to the side of the swimming pool, laid down
on a towel, eagerly pulled him to her and happily let him have his
way with her.
Later, the man continued to explore the colony's facilities. He
entered the sauna and as he sat down, he farted.
Within seconds a huge, hairy man lumbered out of the steam room
toward him. "Did you call for me?" asked the hairy man.
"No, what do you mean?" replied the newcomer.
"You must be new," answered the hairy man, "it's a rule that if you
fart, it implies that you called for me." The huge man easily
spun him around, put him over a bench and had his way with the
newcomer.
The newcomer staggered back to the colony office where he was
greeted by the smiling, naked receptionist, "May I help you?" she
asked.
"Here's my membership card. You can have the key back and you can
keep the $500 membership fee."
"But Sir," she replied, "you've only been here a few hours. You
haven't had a chance to see all our facilities."
"Listen lady," he replied, "I'm 68 years old. I only get an
erection once a month, but I fart at least 15 times a day."

I suppose in a way it seems(to those on the other side) odd that we here still have the right to bear arms. Suffice it to say that is a responsibilility upon itself!
Although I would highly recommend that anyone considering doing damage to my home or family consider otherwise! We do not wait for the police to do the body count!
-
I know it is difficult to estimate, and I am thinking the ring time is actually less a factor in this case, and contrary to clav's claims that a freshen may change the carby's reaction.
If nothing else in this thread, seems we have established that Neo's bike was sucking off the bottom, and the Kiehins are still oversensitive, not that I would totally rule out an OKO of the proper size.
As the K carbs are only in the 28mm versions, put that on a 2.9 and it is still too much accross the band for me, don't need it, or want it!
I did OK for a while with the K on the 250, still had some issues! Been sitting here since!
My motto is still that the Dellorto is the best $15 carb money can buy!

Looks like that would work, is it anodized ali? or plastic?

Yea, we had some good fun with this type event on a small level, club ride. Of course the big challenge for the advanced riders is to make all the gates and pick up all the points! Easy gates for lower class riders can transit to very difficult to transition to the next for a upper class rider to gain points! Those that want to pick up all gates can have a real challenge if you put about two of each in a section. So you subtract dabs, then add the gates , unless you 5 the section, BUST! Fun for all, challenge for all!
I think we did have to do some creative punching on standard cards to keep up with this, say you run 5 sections 3 times, easier I think to just make cards with 5 sections , change every loop, mark them, then do the math, as winners may have 3-400 points!
So an Inter. rider starts with 30, does an easy 5 gate, takes a 10 gate but cannot get to the exit without taking two dabs=25

Top job, lassie!!!!
I am depressed now!
-
Na, they can always put Sherco motors in-um! Always wanted a 250cc version !
-
-
As we here are indeed a melting pot, one cannot go anywhere without sometimes major language barriers!
One would think they would bother to learn the language! Seems some could care less, as they tend to stick soo closely within their own groups.
And in many cases, this ignorance continues to breed poverty! Add it's results!
The ones who want to do well, do!
Yes I have other prejudice, not just terrorists, drug dealers who would ruin the life of your kids rank high on the list!
I think I will will foreward somethind to Slapshot to see if he can post up.
-
58c, 62c, you guys are loosing it! It's a friggin trials bike, not the Space Shuttle man! Throw it at some friggin rocks and see how much heat it makes!
Btw Neo, did you come up with an estimatation on total time on this motor?
What about Clav and his ring rear issue, time specs?
Later,
MC

Those would be the fuel bowl vents. For some reason, tying them together at the bottom with a common slit in the hose sort of defeats the purpose of having two of them in the first place.
Many run no hoses at all on these. I run two hoses about 50-60mm long mainly to deflect dirt or water a bit better. Opinions will vary, but restrictions in these or trapped fuel can cause problems.

I think this link broke from earlier, I still heart this song!
Found this, based on the original start of this thread, a bit too- for me but not bad for a live show, she does have gospel roots, that grow all the way up to the near perfect a--,
Done Here!

I think that is pretty much how the Spanyards created the modern Mexicans, the blonde ones are hot, they put them on the tele, in short shorts!
There are probably at least two or three spanish speaking tele stations here now on the free air broadcasts(more otherwise), which I do not even get as I have been on the cable thing. And as they recently went all digital on the local broadcasts, i have had no reason to get the converter box for the antenna! Point being, there are as many mexicans in texas as any other race it seems, everything has to be bi-lingual because most do not bother to learn english!!!! Even in the schools we must make special accomodations now!
There are many rich American Indians here, also many poor ones. Seems many still get money off the govenment every month and stay upon their lands, others do better, it is a cunnundrum to me! I can tell stories, but I have had some real good Indian friends over the years. In a way, it is kinda like many of them just want to do their own thing. They all speak english, and take great offense if one was to confuse them with a mexican. They shun the Mexicans it seems.

It is indeed , ride your own comfort level, find your nearest clubs and events for some get togethers and challenge in keeping your feet up!
Only wish I could tell you your local clubs to contact up there, practice some and have fun! Others may well chime in here near you! If not , we will find some!
Good bike, sweet to ride!
-
Ummm, thoughts,
If you have been able to drive it out 20mm, then cut it off and drive it back in enough to clear the frame, which should allow you to remove motor for easier drilling and extraction, removing the shaft by cutting step by step if needed, starting with a small drill, working it larger and staying on center which is critical. Ummm! Magnesium/ali corrosiun sucks!
-
I will reimburse you if you can get me that piccy, John! mmm!
Slip of the camera, round o'pints!
If you dare!
The site was up today, so I did mine too! Best to them!
Gotta get someone out there to witness !
-
I just wish you would quit dinking around ang get this thing fixed so you can try the other carby!
-
One of the potential problems that you must get your head around is water condensation in your fuel supply, and your tank getting to your carby!
It will lie in the bottoms of all these vessels if it is pure gasoline, as we have alcohol induced fuel here, it is more dispursed and even more difficult to pin down at times. But, one would be well advised to empty everything into a clean clear vessle, I use a clear 2L pop bottle with the top cut off, cleaned and dried, break the carb bowl over it, then pour any remains. Closely ck what you got in the bottom.
Same with the tank, drain the good off the top on regular position, then switch to reserve and collect it, then invert to collect the rest!
The banjo screen on the dellorto should be ck'ed and cleaned, it is good on small particles(not water), yet does not prevent dirt entry from other points like the vent tubes or elbows. Long tubes on these are not recommended. Nix them, short tubes of a couple inches at max! Any blockage of air flow in the bowl vents or the tank vent itself is critical!
Your fuel can is next, sort it in the clear bowl!
All this is fundamental basics, but untill one is sure beyond compremise it can screw you up dearly!
Also being basic, most problems are resolved at that level, others being more advanced.
-
I think it is good they are doing another budget bike. None of these parts are inferior really. One of our local experts got one las year, he loves it!
Course, he can ride anythin and make it look good!
He's of the 4T Scorpa though, so it is a feather!
-
Na, since when do we want to keep things in top performance range? I stated somewhere, I rather like mine kicking over with relative ease! And I ain't takin it apart for that. Not that the compression is weally weak or anything, just as compared to new.
Long term testing continues! And at the current rate, mine should be good for another few years!
What would you consider to be your average run time per month or year?
-
This is why they have markings on them, they are intended to be one -way devices!
-
Looks good Kieth, where did you get the graphics?
If you guys want to try a fun event, I'll try to get you a set to those Tommi Avahla gate trials rules, it is great fun for all it seems!
Cheers,
MC

Yes, well Mairi, you have already extended beyond that scope with your request for donations. No longer a SSDT issue! We mostly already know anyway!
I actually went to the site tonight, fully prepared to give me pittance in your honor alone, yet it was down for maintenance!!
Oh well, you got a good one of her backside in the bike, Donald? May become my new avitar! I may just offer a tenner for one who can get it!
All incognito, of course!!!!!
-
It is recommended, as well as well as actually passing a fine wire through the jets to clear them. the pilot jet can be difficult to see through and also decieve you with a bit of crystal sand! The tiny passages in the bore if the carb as well.
Water in your fuel supply can re- contaminate things as well, ck your jug and pour your last bit into a clean vessel just to test!
Lessons learnt! Mostly the hard way! Might be surprized what you find at times!
-
As this topic has come up recently with the reports of Clav and Neo, seems I needed to do a bit of checking around on this issue of ring wear.
Just trying for some type comparison in a nikasil bore, my mate into carting gave me a spec of 15 hrs runtime in a air cooled cart running at an average 10-11K rpm in a 100 cc motor.
Therefore, one might suggest a similar ratio of time/rpm at say 5:1 as example, yielding 75 hrs as an expected runtime on a trials bike. These numbers could also be considered to be "before major decline" as they want to keep them tuned up to top spec!
All just theory! They run VERY rich in oil, at about 16:1 i think! Motors run clean! And well oiled!
Many times here, the bike is run in a less than desireable enviroment with lots of dust, dirt , water and other stuff that could potentially effect the motor even with the best filter maintenance.
It is all just speculation really, judging by the numbers provided by Neo as example, his new ring set guaged at .020 for the 250cc bike, and his worn rings were at .030 and .035, approaching double the new clearance, and yet I have no idea how many hours on the bike or the exact conditions.
Logic would dictate that two times the new limits would be an acceptable "service limit" in an effort to retain acceptable performance, in most cases. Yet i do not know that we have enough numbers in on any of this to pass judgement on this forum. It does vary!
There are tons of variables, yet it would be nice if there were some published specs!
