    '07 Sherco

I would normally say something smart, but the fact is, the way my bursitis in the shoulder has been lately, I probably could not manage to kick RL while he is down! He's still a young fart! As far as those Tattoos go, the only one is on the right cheek and I can't see it, it says"YOUR NAME HERE"! I think? As soon as I can find that SHERCO pendant, the nipple piercing thing is tempting so that I can keep up with R2W! Unfortunately, that mental picture of FAT ******* keeps coming to mind! On the other note, crystal ball showed a piccie of FAT BARS on the new Sherco! UMMMMM! Gasser KILLER! Wait and see!

Does it have an Ocean View too?
  7. Don't tease Clive when he's been hitting the RedBull!
  8. Yep, some real nerds reside here! Cheerful bunch, you can tell! I think Ian's throbbing veins are getting to him! That will fix itself! Just wait!
  9. It is too hot to ride here, nothing new! I will let Spinner in on the news that we are going to have a Ryan Young school here first weekend in December at the (now famous) Tishomingo OK venue. Basic/ Advanced weekend for all! Not too far from KS! Good time guaranteed! Let them know! U2! Contact me for a spot!
  10. Just to add to Andy's misery on the t-shirts, I think he should put site sponsors logos on the back and bike logos on the sleve, You know, YOU HAVE USED WORDS OR A PHRASE WHICH ARE NOT PERMITTED ON THIS WEBSITE. PLEASE DELETE YOUR POST/TOPIC. DO NOT TRY TO CIRCUMVENT THE FILTERS IN PLACE ON THIS WEBSITE, Jitsie and others! And nice Sherco Beta, and others! And let them pay for the printing!
  11. I have mostly found that the "high cost of maintenance" is usually due to "damage and poor prep/maintenance/corrosion" regardless of brand! A new Sherco or Gasser is no more a POS than an old Cub, take care of it and it will last, don't and it becomes a restoration project! Most those who trade annually just ride it, then pass it on!
  12. Found a lass that would hive him the tounge, did he? Congrats, Now all he has to do is give up his paycheck!

    Sherco Bolts

I will only say that if you spend an ounce of prevention it is worth a pound of cure! Coat the threads of all your common bolts with a mix of anti-sieze and good grease and you will never have a problem! Even the 4RT will corrode like a pig if you do not protect it from the mud and water entry! Those Jap bolts are the worst when it happens!
  14. Not neccessarily, even new bearings have chearances that translate into rotational movement. As long as there is not excessive verticle movement you are ok. Hopefully the threads in the barrell are ok, you will know when you pull proper torque on them! If the studs are marginal(loose) in the barrell, use Loktite stud and bearing mount to aid in assembly! Examine the threads closely, if totally damaged, get the helicoil kit! they work well if properly installed, but if you mis drill or tap the hole crooked? you are in for it! A set of blocks and a drill press is the best way to drill the hole straight. Doing it freehand is risky if you are not good at it! Best of luck!
  15. It IS normal for the piston to move like that!

    '07 Sherco

Nigel, I'm sure you have had a go in the '06 Sherco by now! After a few brief rides, I must say they have quickened the suspension and steering to the point where it feels very much like the Gasser! Still not sure if thats a great thing for ME? Give us your take on it? I have asked for these impressions prior, yet with no response!
  17. Be sure and get the torque specs correct for the head! Those little 6mm studs will twist off like butter, then you are sunk! Just FYI!

    Brake Pads

Easy, Load the pegs downward, then jump up while applying the front brake and pushing down and forward! You will go over the bars while everyone watches!
  19. Dan, for your information I have a pornografic memory and total recall of every word you said, just like your students! I do think that clarification is needed, as you agree in your statement! I always prefer to interprit the rules in the spirit in which they were written and which is fair for the rider! In this case, DON'T RIDE BACKWARDS THROUGH THE GATE! DUMMY! My personal inclination would be to judge it the same as crossing your tracks, meaning BOTH wheels, tireprints or axles! At that point, they have "passed "! Point being, if the riders themselves are ambiguous on this and have not been told, how should they react? I need a beer now, MC ps- I think Liai can kick your ass!
  20. Still looking for reasonable answers to my question and have not recieved one yet!
  21. Not sure exactly where the motor comes from in the Kondy, but the last pic I seen it looked like a nice beginner bike. But only 100cc! I understand the manufacturers are afraid to produce a 2T copy motor due to regulatory stuff, and there is really not a GOOD 4T to copy. Maybe the 200 Honda in a modern mono frame with decent brakes and suspension, and fuel injection! Yea, thats the ticket!
  22. Speaking of, did "the Andy" get any t-shirts done? I may need one!
  23. I shall ask this question again as copied from another yet with no answers! I should add, do we just count the axles, such as the start and end gates? I do not think this is the last time these problems will come up! As even IF there were a tape marker there, the riders could many times push the tape for maximum advantage! What do you think?
  24. Read recent post about taming the 2.9. It makes the 2.5 even smoother! Great bike!
