  1. I'm only about an hour from there, I guess I'm gonna have to go....spectate.
  2. Plunker, Do you have a paypal acct? I must be slackin because I only just saw this. Thanks Paul
  3. Look Lads! We're pitted right by the first aid station!!
  4. Cope, Zep makes the Tri Flo product, but I buy it under Zep's Zep45 label. The can is 18oz's of product. It is a huge can for about $6. We use the same procedure for standard chains, I was just pointing out that you had to be careful with the pressure washer and an oring chain. Cause I was sure someone would be watching for that. So, go ahead use up that tri-flo. It works really well in so many places.
  5. At the shop most of the chains we clean are oring chains. So jet wash is only from a little distance. This is what we do: 1. Soak the chain with a penetrating oil (Zep45, it penetrates better than wd and has a ptfe lube in it, Another commercial name is Tri-Flo) while washing the rest of the bike. 2. Using a plastic brush scrub if really caked, rarely needed though. 3. Soak with S100 soap, and allow to soak. 4. Spray off grunge while spinning wheel. 5. Use compressed air to help dry more quickly. 6. Soak rollers and both sides of chain, trying to concentrate spray on all joints. 7. later before use a chain lube can be applied if conditions indicate, although the ZEP45 is an excellent lubricant. Cope I bet I can switch you off of WD!
  6. DG O-Shannon, There are several bearing supplys in Houston that carry the consolidated bearings.http://www.consbrgs.com/index3.html Of course the link doesn't work so you will have to copy and paste, click the find dist near you tab and enter your zip.
  7. Bearingless, I am nowhere near New Jersey, but could order it and then mail it to you. Unless someone closer does it. Also what is the bearing # and contact info. If you have a paypal account money transfer would be easy. My email paulthistle@hotmail.com
  8. Glenn, The Vee rubber tires are availible from any motorcycle dealer in the US. It would be cheaper to put valves and cam chain in the XR. Then mod the frame etc.

    Pw50

Enrico, I have been working on PW50's since 81. The engines are virtually the same since inception. The pwonly.com site sells parts off of the chinese copy of a PW. If you have cleaned the carb and tank, also clean the fuel screen in the "IN" side of the fuel valve. It is plastic, you can screw a tap or woodscrew into it and pull it out to clean it. The right handlebar switch has a plastic multipin connector under the front numberplate. If you unplug it, you can start the bike in the run position. The start safety feature will be disabled. The spark plug cap has a resistor in it, it should be between 5K and 10K ohms. Use a BPR4HS NGK plug. If the exahust port is clogged, the pipe will also be clogged. You can try running it with the pipe loose and the gasket out. Hope this helps, Paul paulthistle@hotmail.com If you still have questions.
  10. How many squids did you save by using two cycle oil instead of proper oil? Good air filter oil costs about the same as good two stroke oil. It takes very little dirt to really wear the piston and rings quickly. When changing filters, use a white towell and wipe the inside of the airbox. If it is dirty at all, you need to decrease the cleaning interval. If that doesn't work, try different oils. If that doesn't work trya different brand of filter. Last year at a 24 hour race that was incredibly dusty, our filters were completly clogged every two laps (22 miles). We did 40 laps. I had several different filters and couple of different oils and a couple of prefilters. The filter I thought would be best, wasn't. We passed dirt for the first 4 filter changes. Finally settling on twin air, using a pre filter sock with BelRay foam filter oil. I'm not saying you should use any of these. However in very dusty conditions in fine silt, it is what worked for me. So check you method to see how well it works. You may be using the best product now.
  11. That deputy was obviously trained in Georgia! Although not yet it's own country.

    Xispa Price

At 2k apiece thats only 50 bikes, not counting freight. How many would you require an importer to take?
  13. My son is just 12 at 4' 6" and weighs 86 lbs . Last year it was 4'3" and 68 lbs. He has been on a beta 80 since july 06. I have removed one fork spring, and put a smaller set of renthal bars on. The stock ones are a little wide in the middle, when you cut them down you have to turn them forward to clear the master cylinder hoses. I put the bars back as far as I could to make it easier for him to reach when turning tight. I backed off the spring preload collar all the way. I cut the rear shock bottom out bumper in half. He can ride my Beta 125 and sherco 125 just fine. But he is not big enough to HANDLE them. Meaning when in a section if he has to move the bike by brute force, the 80 is his current level. It would not be possible on the 125's. I own a motorcycle shop. And I have found that if you buy a bike for a child to grow into, the first time it scares them, they lose interest in riding. Buy a used 80 that fits him. sell it when he grows out of it and lose very little money. He is just now to the point in his riding ability that he is needing the other fork spring and more rear shock travel. Which the new beta 80 has or maybe even the Gas Gas.
  14. Steve, I too, was hoping for wet conditions. Aaron does real well in the slippery wet stuff as well. I don't know how Zeke would do,.... probably great! It seems like most of the events (trials, MX and hare scrambles) we have done this year, have been wet. I'm gonna have to get cracking on Aarons training for next year...it looks to be tighter than this year! It would be great to ride in BC. One day!
  15. Steve, It was really great to meet you and Matt. Watching Matt in the camp, he rode so well. I knew he would win or be at the top. He turns so smooth, and keeps the motor sooo steady. In the compettion he seemed to keep his head about him. I wanted Aaron to know who to watch and to have a goal to aim for. Watching Matt and Zeke certainly gave him plenty to think about! My wife videoed Aaron in a lot of the sections. So we have watched that and talked about what he needs to practice on. He is getting big enough that he is starting to use normal techniques. It was a great week, great weather, quiet in the evenings (no bottlerockets!) and just the right amount of riding. The "Dan Brown Adventure ride" was fun. We went a long ways back in the cave. Zeke and Homer were like a pair of spider monkeys scurrying over every inch of the cave. Standing on the edge of steeply camberd slick banks, looking into black space below. Thanks To all for making it happen. Paul
  16. What a great promo! Very smooth video, for a helmet cam.
  17. I talked to noel sunday morning, He told me Pat might ride the remaining events on the 2.9 in junior. I would say go ride whatever you want, either way you are gaining experience. The best thing he could do is learn a couple of different languages. That would make his stays in europe more pleasant. GO PAT!!
  18. Brian, I believe the tapered upgrade kits are still availible (I think I have one). They are easier to install than the loose bearings. Just drive out the old ones and drive on the new ones. Park tools has a cool installer tool. But you can do as well with some threaded rod and big washers from home depot. Or just drive em in the old fashioned way, with a hammer.
  19. Hensley, I agree, at one time it was hard to keep up with all the threads going at one time. But now it's pretty easy. But we don't need a lane to stir stuff up.....aw nobody cares what we think! Besides we don't no nuthin. I love to inject my lack of wit in a thread. The biggest deal is just getting people to post. If you have a topic, post it and we'll all fire away, worst case we're banned and can only lurk. Hi Kramit, My brother had a Kramer monoshock Maico in 75, a 250 square barrel. I've got pictures somewhere. He was stationed in germany, I think he said he went to Kramers house?!?
  20. At a hare scramble last week, I had a similar experience, sorta. I've riding SSC and starting behind all the C classes. Which makes for interesting passing, which I enjoy. So I'm on a YZ125 and I catch up to a guy on a YZ450. I know it's a 450 because every time he blips the throttle I get a facefull of earth. I don't like to holler until I am close enough to make a pass. But every time I moved up he would cover me up with what seemed like a well timed throttle burst. It seemed like he was rolling over every hill and into every corner and trying to throw dirt on me. So it made me mad and I pressed tight and inside in a corner, putting my front tire right in his line and screaming an obsceneity at the top of my lungs " GET THE @%$$% OUTTA THE WAY". I startled him and got by. Remorse for my action instantly set in. I tried to find him after the event to apoligize but could not. No excuse for bad behavior, or very poor judgement.

    Hmmmm.

It is the end of time...........Finally a candidate I agree with!!!! My wife says you've got her vote to!
  22. paulthistle

    Hmmmm.

One thing for sure, He'll never be able to find the sign again! Like it would be a surprise this year for him to get elected.
  23. Chris, It was really cool last year to watch TY. He is so excited to ride, you can tell he loves doing it. I knew from the pictures you had posted and reading your posts that he was riding sportsman. Until this year It would have been hard for Aaron to ride the sportsman line in STRA. He was so light. We were at a an event that had a steep climb out of the section, another rider and I watched Aaron going up it. He had his butt as far back as it would go but was still spinning. The other rider looked at me and said " His legs just arn't long enough to get any more traction". He enjoys the camp, but I think he expects to much out of himself. It makes it difficult to enjoy the compettion. Maybe he'll be relaxed this year. I look forward to watching Ty ride again!
