Hello folk, please take note that this weekends trial (12th March)
at Rough Holden Silsden is for Novice & Beginners ONLY
NOT a normal club trial as well, the TMX has it wrong.
However we would appreciate some of the more experienced riders coming along to observe.
Beginners trials are by far the hardest to recruit observers.
-
Traders require some security as most will not want to stay with the stand all night.
Trials riders usually good at entertainment any way, the 5 that got away, the giant 6ft step (2ft really) the "I got the only clean of the day" tale etc etc.
just like fishermen.
Im sure Andy (Trials Central) will be sorting something out for TC readers.

What a fine fellow, and a fair old rack too!
But I have to say that, aint I
-
There is only so much "changing" that can be done to the landscape these days without upsetting the eco warriors or the planning people.
I do think a beer tent on the Sat night may lead to trouble, by a MINORITY of course. This is supposed to be a family event.

Sounds like head gaskets / o rings gone pressurising the system.
Cheap and easy to fix.
-
Keep em coming, but only Bikespace's gets a look in at the mo.
And that is not too easy to overcome, the tape was set out well
after the ends markers, like an exit corridor, but the individual terrain / section determines how much can be done.
Tell the specs to bu88er off :-)
-
The Bradford date in June will be a SPECIAL event as it is the club's 100th year.
TWO days of youth trialling not just the one!
CD Sat, AB Sun, NOT A BRITISH CHAMPIONSHIP EVENT
More details to follow.
Keep thi eye on the clubs website.
-
And I didnt look at the calendar, just got fired up about an AB cancellation
-
John, just let the unit run its course, no need to re-set as you aint getting another rider in the section before 1 min 30 up anyway, especially if they have failed. Re-set after the normal 1'30.
Cant see a problem with what you have, and I will be using one
Dabster, cant remember any comment about Lia and I'm from BDMC, can you enlighten us?
For the 2006 round please do come and help us out, we really need your high level of judgement. (or so it seems from your comments)
Maybe dont bother (if you only want to critisise) as we don't want any critisism of folk who give up their time freely to help out, and come from all over the country to do just that at their own expense.
How often at world level have you observed?
If you have how many times have you made a mistake?
(and don't say NONE)

As a club sec I would say this just shows that riders must start getting their &rses in to gear and fill in their entry forms when they are released.
NOT WAITING UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE. If you have not a copy of the entry form ask the club that is promoting the event for one !!!!
A youth championship trial costs a few quid to put on, if the entries are not there what happens? The club looses money and wont do it again.
Trophies, toilets, etc dont come cheap !!!!
Often leading riders, and you know who you are, get on the phone WELL
after the closing date with every excuse under the sun.
At the beginning of the year the dates list is published, work from that.
I am VERY sad at Cheadle being cancelled, for the club and for our club (BRADFORD) as we were not given a round this year.
Jonty, maybe the entries are so low that the club has made a decision to allow people to cancel accomodation etc without loosing money.
-
I do think you should publish, on here at least, surnames and rough location, may help somebody else one day
-
Ask your sec to check the score cards, could be an input mistake,
these things DO HAPPEN
I know, I've done it !!!
-
Why argue / consider / debate the different rules being used.
I would presume the biggest % of you are ACU affiliated riders.
The ACU is a UNION, go to you clubs, centres and TELL THEM
what rules you want to ride.
They must then tell the ACU T&E folk the outcome.
Rules can be changed by YOU !!!!
BTW: The Yorkshire Centre is NOT totally NON STOP
-
Ya could always take a trip up to Yorkshire to see some real trialling
and collect a spanky new one from us
-
Our club:
Bradford & Dist
also put in GPS/SatNav points
in our directions to venues but
dont advertise them.
-
Was going to a few events but cancelled all arrangements due to Octagon / FIM
not knowing their 4rse from their elbow.
-
Maybe should read "accredited" officials, ie those who have attended
training seminars etc
-
All licenced officials get a free "licence", it is not as we say a licence tho, trials is not a licenced sport as per ACU.
However affiliation to the ACU will still cost ya a tener.
whats a tenner a year?
Think of the benefits.
Dont start asking me the benefits, ask your club !!!!

-
Cant see security being a problem as last time many folk were up all night talking (supping).
In fact so much "talking" went on 3/4 riders could not walk, no I mean ride, next day.
-
