Hi mate i cracked my tank where the kickstart sits,I used araldite on mine then a thin coat of fibreglass worked a treat.
-
Hi mate just keep checking on this site & they will let you know before hand.
-
Hi just an update i was going to strip the clutch on friday & check the plates, but phoned Kev at GG first to see if ther was a right or wrong way to install the plates. His answer was it didnt matter which way they were installed, so flushed the ATF out & put some motul 10/30 transoil in which has cured the problem, so thanks to all who reply'd & a big thanks to KEV.
-
Hi laser 1 thanks for your re-ply i wasn't aware there was a wrong or right way to insert the plates as for the free play on the leaver yes there is plenty.Like i said in the post yesterday after speaking to Kev at GG uk he said nothing about which order to put the plates in,he just said that the dp clutch pack i got was'nt suiteble for the dextron ii atf oil & i would be better using a light gear oil 10/30 or simaler.THANKS
-
Hi again every body the clutch is slipping on my 05 raga 300 when you let the leaver out,it only does it for a few seconds then is ok. I have just replaced the clutch pack about 6 weeks ago so surely it cant be worn. I f you ride the bike without using the clutch it is fine & does not slip, but touch the lever & it will slip momenterally. I spoke to factory Kev at GG to day & he said if i'd put the DP clutch plates in they dont work well with ATF dextron II which i run in my bike, has anybody expirenced this problem before or am i the first. THANKS.

Hi every i've been out on my bike today rode the trial got finished but theres a problem with the clutch.I've just give it a service with fresh atf dextron II & when riding it today noticed that when i was letting the clutch out to do some big splats it was slipping,if i just rode upto the the area i was trying to get up & did'nt use the clutch it would go up no bother but if i was using the clutch it would slip befor biting. i've not long fitted a new set of plates which were in tolerance with what gas gas recomend.By the way its a 05 300 Raga.

Hi to everyone, I have an 05 Raga 300 which i've owned for a couple of months now.Does any body know the mixture settings as mine is set at 1 turn out with a nice colour to the plug, but it seems to pink alot when you crack the throttle open.I have not checked the needle height yet or the size of the jets i was just wondering what the settings were so i had a clue where to start from.

Hi guys posted this topic a couple of days ago but i put it in the wrong place,so here goes again.i've just purchesd an 05 300 raga after owning an 05 280,but the cluch on the raga is a lot heavier. My left hand was akeing after the trial on sunday so much so i could hardley keep hold of the bars. After talking to a few people on sunday they said the raga cluch is heavier compared to the 280 is this true or not.I ran the 280 on motul transoil 10/30 & the raga has ATF in it is this the problem or should i try a new cluch. Any help would be appricated. Thanks.

Hi everyone i have just got myself an 05 300 raga, after owning an 05 280 the problem is the clutch the raga seems to have quite a heavy clutch where as my 280 was very light. After doing a trial on sunday my left hand was aching & i could hardley keep hold of the bars. Some of yhe guys i talked to said the raga has a heavier clutch does any body no if this is right & what can i do to make it lighter.Cheerz.

Hi mate sorry for the late reply been to work you see,i'm from stanley & go to the trials most weekends. Are you going to ride the trials or just for fun.
-
Hi mate welcome aboard, where abouts in north east you from.
-
Hi Andy, yes your right in thinking that little bolt next to the kickstart is to check your oil level. As for oils i used Motul 10/30 trans oil in mine & Castrol TTs two stroke oil 70ml to 5ltr petrol. The spark plug was an irideum ngk cant remember the number of it but i had it in the bike for 2 years before i sold it.Be carefull of the sump plug bolt as they'r made of chocolate.Hope this helps you out.Check out the scorpa blogs on the site very helpfull.
-
Hi Peasie, where abouts in the north east area are you. You've got a few clubs you could join,i'me a member of Consett & sometimes practice at castleside quarry near consett. Hope this helps.

Hi everyone, could anyone please tell me how much oil to put in my 05 pro forks .I try'd to go on mechanical talk but it says it's now closed.cheers.
-
Hi skippy, I had a few ty mono's back in the early days & a few had the symptons your describing. The problem was the middle box of the exhaust was really bunged up,which was not allowing the gases to flow correctly thus making it feel slugish & restricted. The only way you can sort this is by taking the exhaust off & cutting a section off metal away & cleaning & then re-packing the middle box. Hope this helps. P.S Try starting the bike with the exhaust off & see if it revs any cleaner.

Hi mate, I got back into trials about 3 years ago, bought a cheap GasGAS 320 then moved onto a Scorpa sy 250.Sold that & i've got a GasGas 280 pro 05,yes the GG is lighter but for reliability the scorpa was a much better bike & i would go back to scorpa's tomorrow if my finances were a bit better. But its horses for corses & each to their own.

Hi to everyone out there,my GG 280 pro 05 has got play on the swingarm bearings, does anybody know the size of the bearings.I know you can buy the linkege bearings off ebay but i dont know if the swingarm bearings are in the kit.As i've just put linkege bearings & seals in just be for xmas i was hoping some one might know the sizes so i can go to my local bearing outlet & buy some. THANKS.

Thanks Baldilocks,I'd found some fst on ebay at kawasaki newcastle, was going to give it a try at the weekend. I had a scorpa sy before the GG and never had any problems with the carb iceing up or water getting in the air box come to that.Cheers.

Hi to everyone & a happy new year to you all.
I have a GG 280 05 model which i've had for six months the bike its self i cant fault it until recently the carb seems to be freezing up on realy cold days. my mates sherco is also doing the same has anybody else had this problem & how did you fix it. also what is the correct settings for the air screw mine is currently 2 3/4 turns out is this correct as i cant seem to get the bike to tick over smoothly. i've stripped & cleaned the jets with carb cleaner & an air line.this problem has just started since the cold weather came. i know its cold up here in the north east but i did'nt think it was that cold. THANKS.

Hello scoot, when i changed my seals on my sy i loosend the bolt on the bottom of the stantion & there should be a cir-clip above the seal pop it out & pull them apart.Hope this helps. Did you get a manual if so there should be a diagram of the forks in it.i downloaded mine from the hellteam site.
-
Hi mate, i dont think you can get a manual for the Scorpa, dont know about the tyz though. You could try the Nigal Birkett web site if i'm wright in my thinking you can download a parts manual from it.You say your a member of Consett club thats also my club, try contacting Birketts & telling him your problem he might be able to tell you where you went wrong(01229716806).I have a copy of the master parts list i downloaded your welcome to it if you want it. Just give us a call ( 07729496276) asking for Adrian.
-
Hi mate, welcome back just like you i had a long lay off,but came back & am loving it.I started back with a GasGas & then went onto a Scorpa Sy which i loved, had the bike for 2 years with no major problems just serviced regular.I have just sold it & gone back to GG which is taking some getting used to.I to am a member of Consett club so if you see me & my mates give us a shout. Just look for a guy called Bunny & i'll be with him.

Hi everybody, thanks for all your'e re-plys i have asked a lot of people about this.I phoned my local trials shop White Bros at Darlington & spoke to Al-the Spanner & he recomended i use Motul 300v fully synthetic. So i phoned GASGAS UK & they said this oil was ok to use. What AL said was that ATF was ok but with the gearbox oil lubing the mains they found the Motul to be the better oil to use. M
