  1. looks like a good partnership to me. Reiger make some quality gear. if it gets near the Ohlins quality and feel it'll be a winner. As far as I'm aware Raga uses an Ohlins shock that looks like a standard Sach one, couuld be wrong though
  2. I'm in agreement here and have grumbled previously about the complete drivel he spouts out during the event. 'oh incidentally if you were here last year you may have seen the eagles, take that, a-ha and elvis presley' seriously who gives a flying f*ck who was there last year or next week?? He is also often inaccurate with his comments and misses lots of incidents too. IMO opinion Bou did only get a 1 (in both Geneva and on Saturday) and got very bored of JB moaning forever after 'how was that not a 5' Why? COS IT WASN'T A 5 thats why.... Get over it and go with the safe assumption that the official have a better f*cking idea than you! However JB does have a very tough job and I would presume is tasked by Eurosport with filling the gaps between riding, hence the gibberish he produces non stop. What he needs is a co-commentator one that ideally rides or has ridden at a high level (in the same way that Wayne and Crosser co-commentate at Sheffield) JB could then have a discussion with the co-commentator about the riders in the section and what had just occurred etc etc. The co-commentator would be in the position to advise 'that wasn't a 5 because.......' or 'he managed to do ....... by making sure ........' and so on. The only time that wouldn't work is with Bou as everything he somehow manages to do is often beyond belief and the laws of physics Hopefully I have offered a 2 sided and weighted enough arguement here so that I wont be called a 'prick' for having an opinion
  3. It's made my mind up. I was ummming and arrrring about 2 days, but 1 day - no way now! Way too far to travel for 1 day IMO.
  4. Think Challoner has done awesome this year indoors. He has adapted to X trial amazingly quickly. Re: Bou, amazing! Only word to use for him. Next big thing will be Pol Tarres. The boys gonna be big.
  5. I have one and I'm happy with it. TBH cant say I notice it when riding trials but definitely noticed it when mountain biking. My overall pace and longevity was improved. Now, whether this was due to the MOJO or not I dont know and cant say however I can say 100% it was not a 'in my head' thing. I felt better when riding and when we stopped for a break 3 of the other guys I ride with commented that my pace was notably quicker than normal and I didn't even remember I had the MOJO band on. It was only when I got back home to shower I realised/remembered I had it on. Again, not scientific but IMO of benefit. You will never get a complete answer to this and someone will always be able to pick holes in any 'proof'. As I've mentioned before on the MOJO band subject - They may just be a placebo, but if you feel they work and you can ride, train, work harder etc as a result then it's surely worth it.
  6. Never thought this would happen BUT well said Dabster! Everytime BenBeta23 views HIS opinion there's always loads of derogatory comments and a barrage of offensive abuse hurled at him. Regardless of the observer giving up his Sunday or not, if he was not treating everyone the same then Ben is perfectly entitled to call him 'a complete idiot' without other forum members then attacking Ben's views and hurling personally abusive comments directly at him and telling him he doesn't care for his sport unless he observes etc. How the fcuk do you know what he does/doesn't do in relation to trials?? He was at a BTC round actively supporting his sport. If he was unhappy with the observing why would he go and complain? He wasn't riding so the observer would point blank ignore him. I can only assume that everyone abusing Ben's comments are model trial riders who NEVER moan about observers and always give up alternate Sunday's to ensure that they do 'their part' and help observing, setting up and running clubs! Ben is entitled to his opinion on what he see's and feels as much as anyone else. PS: I'm not a Political Correctness activist and I do not know Ben at all but find it strange that one persons opinions are so continually battered by others on the forum.

    beta 2010

Best bit of advise ever is: DONT clean your carb if bike is running fine. The carb is a fully sealed unit and if bike runs fine, the carbs fine and there is no point or benefit to removing and 'cleaning' it (again if it runs fine it's 'clean') There are people on here who clean (or say they clean) their carb after every ride. There really is no point and zero benefit to doing this. In fact, as you have found, this is more likely to cause a problem as the sealed unit (the carb) is opened and there is every chance that some dust or muck will get in it and balls it all up. IMO the only time that you should ever take your carb of is if there is a running problem with the bike, other than that its fully sealed and only has fuel running through it so why would it need cleaning and checking? Once you clean your bike, start it up and if it runs fine I'd say leave it. I'd guess you have some muck in one of the jets or maybe moved the slide during the dismantling and reassembly process.
  8. What bike is it? Make and model etc
  9. Is that a REAL date?? or a joke
  10. Tarres is also a VERY good name to have onboard as he is known world wide in off road circles and if this comes to fruition will have lots of contacts and possible investors. I hope this does happen, think it will be good for trials and enduro to have another manufacturer and will keep the others on their toes. Below is a pic I saw from Jordi last year, only a teaser but interesting.... Except I cant insert the image.... anyone able to tell me how
  11. Wow this subject AGAIN... The BEST thing you can do is to try them both and see which you like best. They will both be a million times better than most riders. They are both brilliantly put together They are both very easy to ride They are both similar in price As a result you cannot buy a bike based on peoples say so when you a) dont know them dont know what level they ride at c) you dont know how they look after and run their bikes (eg: someone might say 'xxxxx is a sh*t bike, dont touch it, they might have no idea on maintenance or riding or just be useless) All you will get from asking on here is peoples opinions based on what they have eg: Beta owners saying 'Beta is best, no problems. Gas Gas are poorly put together (a myth of old and NO longer a relevant reason not to buy one) or Gas Gas owners saying 'Gas Gas is best, no problems. Beta have problems with stators going all the time. Find your local dealer and see if you can arange to ride them both. If not go to a local trial and ask some riders about the bikes and if you can have a ride. Most are friendly enough and will let you have a little ride if you have the correct clothing etc. Ideally ride a bike of someone who seems to know what they are talking about and rides fairly well. This way you can hopefully ride a bike that is well set up and will run well. Sorry for war and peace but there have been numerous 'what bike' threads on here which never gives you the right answer because no one can answer that other than you based on riding and seeing which feels best for you. I've had both and both a brillian. Good Luck
  12. In fairness he was better on the Gasser. Your loyalty to the brand is very honourable but stating 'the better bike' and 'the more powerful bike' is just odd. 'if' the bike was better surely he would ride better! I'm not saying the Beta is not a good bike, far from it in fact. However the simple and un-argueable facts are that he rode better in 2010 in the ITWC on the Gas Gas. Toni Bou got straight on the apparently 'uncompetitive' Montesa and smashed everyone from pretty much day 1 so taking time to settle can't really still be a reason. Plus after 45+ official days on the Beta and XX amount of unofficial days on it whilst in his gas gas contract he should be fully in tune with the bike and the team. Maybe the Gas Gas suits him and his style better, maybe he is the sort of rider that needs the coaxing and pushing style of team leadership that Shirty gives and maybe he's just riding poorly ATM.
  13. In fairness the Spanish riders that dominate the indoors also dominate the outdoor championship. Only difference is that Fuji is in the mix outdoors. The British riders fair about as well indoors as they do outdoors. Be great to see what kind of year Challoner has outdoors, his confidence must be sky high now. Also, as well as Raga falling to pieces, what on earth has happened to Dabill? He was regular semi final last year and challenging for 3rd place overall in ITWC. Think Beta and John Lampkin need to give him a good old fashioned 'Shirty style' kick up the @rse
  14. Wow! What happened to Raga on Saturday night? He looked totally disinterested and beaten by the whole thing. Was anyone there to see it? or anyone know him/team personnel?? Would be really interesting to understand whats happening in his head. Must be that Toni Bou being unbeatable has mashed his head again. I know this happened a few years ago but thought he'd worked past this physcological barrier. Cabestany seems to be OK and goes with the openly spoken of approcah of 'will ride for 2nd place and if Bous slips up, I'll try to capitalise and push for a win' Raga on the other hand seems battered and beaten as soon as he loses a point and Bou stays on zero It must be mentally draining and soul destroying for Raga and Cabes watching Bou ride to such a level at EVERY event amd totally destroy them and the sections.
  15. Anyone with a slight knowledge of trials would be good. He often gets the wrong names, wrong bikes, misses dabs, often doesn't seem to understand what a rider is trying to do and how, gibbers on about when a stadium was built, local guff that no one cares about and so on (understand that he will be scripted on the stadium guff etc) I would prefer someone who knew trials, the riders and the bikes better. Could then talk about that in the build up and gaps between sections. Even if he had a known trials rider assisting with it who has the knowledge and could talk to him about whats happened.
  16. Agreed, Bou is literally unbeatable, no one can get near him - most so disheartening for Raga, Cabes, Fajardo etc and also for the manufacturers and everyone involved with the bikes and riders. Actually agree with Jack the clown Burnicle. they will need to start making him ride a different route : ) Great trial, sh*t races, awesome skills, great entertainment.
  17. What a random question.... Why would you not want to contact GG to get a GG part??? Are you against contacting a GG dealer?? There is a list of them but you'd need to go on the gas gas uk website!! Do you mean the clear plastic insert that sits inside the airbox? Short of contacting GG UK or a GG dealer I doubt you'll get one anywhere. You could try ebay.
  18. What about Marseille? cant see that b*gger anywhere
  19. OK answered my own question after Gas Gas put pics on Facebook. They are making a 250cc 2011 Racing. Wonder if we're not getting it in UK or just not announced yet.
  20. Do we know if it will be on Eurosport at all? I am pretty sure that my cruddy Internet broadband will stream crappily.
  21. Firstly, wow bike looks mega and good spec Secondly, oww over
  22. For my money the TTT bike not only sounded a lot better on BIG revs at Sheffield but the suspension also seemed a lot nicer, especially plush when landing. Am pretty sure the TTT titanium exhaust is about all that makes it sound so nice and it could be rider preference and style that makes the suspension look nicer. All in all though I'd agree with BenBeta23 and say that the TTT is IMO at least on a par with the 'factory' bikes. We know from previous reports and articles etc that often the factory bikes are not that different to an 'off the peg' bike, with often there only being minor geometry changes, uprated suspension innards and small weight saving bits here and there. Also TTT can do pretty much whatever they want to the bike where as Beta (as mentioned) need to make the 'factory' bike look and sound as normal as possible. I've never ridden a factory Beta, but rode Alexz's TTT bike last year and it felt absolutely superb (probably been tinkered with by Julian also) in pretty much every aspect. Bit too snappy for me, but for the daft things they ride at and up it seemed perfect
