Try draining and replacing the oil in your gearbox. This is a common fault with older trials bikes. max

Hi all, ive been having this problem for a while now after i wash my bike. The thing is, when i rev the bike right up it "misses" at high revs. It has to be eletrical as its just a loss of spark i think. I washed my bike yesterday, and took the plug out to have a look at the colour (previous post), and foolishly sprayed all over with WD40 and cleaned it. put the plug in the mike ant at high revs, mising like anything. changed the plug for a new one and it was fine. Did a trial today, bike was fine. Got home and washed the bike, and its missing again . surley it cant be the plug? any ideas guys? max
  9. cheers, i will have a go at it this week. max
  10. hi all this is a stupid question, but what way do i have to turn the mixture screw to weeken the mixture? the plug is slightly black and it loads up on tickover. sorry for the dumb question. cheers max P.S its a dellorto carb.
  11. i ride along with MIKEE to most trials. If your inersested ther is a holsworthy trial next sunday (15th feb) details are in the TMX. There not great trials, however if you went along you would get a lot of info from the organisers and riders (like me! ) hope to see you around max
  12. if you get on well with your montesa then chances are you will get on well with a beta. However, this is only my experiance and as slapshot said, try as many differnt bikes as possible. I quite like the way a scorpa feels comming from a montesa like you and my current beta. max

  16. hi all I know its not trials but... I am currently rebuilding the gearbox on a 1999 kawasaki kx 80. This really has me stumped right now because the two shaft of gears inside will not turn together. I have 2nd 6th and neutral turning but none of the other gears will turn. As far as i can make out, this is because the pins on the gears are ingaged, stopping it from turning. Im thinking that it could be the selector drum slipped on the shaft and not engaging the correct gears?? If anyone could shed any light on this problem i would be very appreciative. max P.s The bike was run without any gearbox oil.
  17. This is the best online store i have ever found! Trialsbits
  18. This is what you need. click screw this into your flywheel and use an impact wrench if possible to pop the flywheel off. if you dont have an impact wrench then you may need a flywheel holding tool. max
  19. I have the beta lycra trousers at the moment, and dispite being thin there supprisingly warm. Only thing is there not to protective. I do have a very old pair of Hebos as practice trousers and dispite their age, they are very comfortable and protective. Personally i would go for the Hebo 09 or the Clice Zone. max
  20. The indoor in sheffield did not seam to be excessivly fumey to me. There not to bad really, there well ventalated, but it would be best to consult your doctor on such an issue. max

  23. hi, the best way to remove the swingarm bearings is to use a socket thats the same diameter as the bearing to push it out. Have a big socket on one side that will not obstruct the bearing, and a smaler socket the same size as the bearing, on the other side. Then use a vice to push them out. If you can make any sense of that then it will take a maximum of one minute to pop them out. Putting them in is exactly the same, just in reverse. Im affraid i cannot help you with the shock bearing as im in the same boat as you (cant get it out!). Anyway hope this helps max
  24. Hi I would stick with tts or go for something like poutoline mx5 or mx7. Ive used tts and mx5 and both are as good as another. max
