  2. hi all i have purchaced a yamaha style kill swich to replace the origanal piece of s*** that is on the bike. my question is do you guys blank off the light wires (mines not fitted) and cut and conect the new kill swich in front of the block connector, or do you need to wire it in further? any sugestions welcome Max
  3. http://www.bikersrest.com/events.html#find try this down in north devon!
  4. The riding ground is the best in north devon. Lots of rocky gullies and river sections as well as woodland and mud thrown in the mix. There is a nice holiday cottage with a lockable container for bikes/ gear etc. we ride manny trials up there an you cant beat the ground! they hold all types of trials from the nell and ron higgins national to club grade c trials so there is ground for all riding abilities! in my opinion you cant go wrong. however i would also look into holidays at "Hessiford Farm" just down the road at Kilkhampton. that is also a great riding spot with a static caravan on site. max
  5. At a gues it could be water in the exhaust for the popping, and mayby water in the crancase. not sure how it would get in there so eisaly. do you use an exhaust bung? if there is water in the crankcase then get it sorted asap. because i did the same to mine and got it dry within 4 hours but the main barings still went rusty
  6. hi having tried to ride my bike undr water last weekend i have just got new mains and seals. there for an 07 but my gues it that they are the same. the bearing number is = 6206 not to sure on the seal but this is what mine have stamped on them = d014 9 tc 25 40 7 ttc hope that helps max

  10. the gasgas 80s dont have a lot of bottom end power. my freind had a 2002 gasgas 80 and he out grew it very quickly. i have herd that the beta 80s are quite powerfull. size wise i dont think you can go wrong.
  11. Addict, i dont want to sell the bike, it is a good bike just as others has pionted out the jetting seems wrong witch may well be the cause of why i have been posting a lot! i will get some new jets from my bike shop to try, how about a 110 and a 38? ill see what happens. thanks for the help everyone
  12. hi all I have been having troble setting up the carb on my 07 rev3 125. i have tweeked the micture screw so it is now 1 1/2 turns out. this produces a lovely tickover, but when im riding the bike 'dies' off the bottom end. sometimes it survives and picks up but moastly dies and stalls. I have a #44 pilot and a #100 main. any help welomed as this is realy Pi***** me off
  13. hi all I have been having a little troble settling up the carb on my 07 rev3 125. i just cant get it to tickover well. The bike will tickover at a nice speed and then get slower and slower and then die. someone told me this was because the mixture was to rich but if i 'weken' the mxture anymore i get a flatspot lowdown in the rev range. so i think the mixture is right. the only way i can get it to tickover for a periond of time is to wind up the tickover screw loads, but even then it will only tickover for a copple of minuetes and just die again. The carb is a delorto VHST, and from what i can gather there is a #44 pilot jet and a #100 main. any help aprechated. max
  14. i use neatsfoot oil or horse tack oil. gets the boots nice and soft.
  15. check the woodruff key. if it has sheared then the timing will have slipped causing the bike to spark but not in time to the cylnder. there only pence so its workth changing. max
  16. hi sorry cant help you with what model it is, but mine was 1988 and that was an 'r'. 35:1 is a tad to rich. it should be run on 50-60:1. i cant help you on the manuel and side stand either as i let mine go with the bike. max
  17. i toataly agree. had the same insodent in our club. as a result the observer in question has stoped comming to the trials. we are already pushing it to find observers and with riders shouting their mouth of at them i dont blame them not comming.
  18. i had thort of both hellicoil and rivnuts. i think helicoil is the way to go and as i am on work experince with my local bike shop this week so it could prove to be quite handy. thanks for the quick responses! max
  19. hi all just doing a check over my bike earlier and came across the chain tensioner was lose. as i went to tighten the bolt up and found the thred inside the swinging arm is compleatly gone. i have not over tightend it. the thing is i dont think i can tap it out as the bolt for the tensioner is a special one and if i tap the thread out it will be larger than the size of the bolt? any one had this problem before? any help apprechated! max
  20. the woodruff key is on the flywheel shaft. what it does is it sets the timing for the spark. if the key is cheard then it will still spark but all over the place. if you can get your hands on one use a 12v rattle gun to remove the flywheel nut. from there you will need the correct fly wheel puller to get it off. make sure when you replace the flywheel that the nut is tight as this is what usually causes the key to sheer. hope this helps max
  21. i used to run a 9-41 it was a good combo! max
  22. the whiring could be the main bearings. i have a freind with a gasgas and it was grumbly and whiring. turned out to be the main bairings.

    Beta Clutch

start with a friction and end with a friction. friction, steel, friction, steel.............................. max
  24. if i was in your shoes i would either go for a beta techno or a yamaha ty. the techno would be the better option in my eyes as they are slightly newer and extreemly reliable. the ty would be good but is heavier and not watercoold. however these would be cheeper to buy and work on. as for the dirt bike, if you are a total novice then yes get a cheep one. but if you have ever rode a motorcycle of any description then get a trials bike. max
