Roughly 17 miles back to the Fort yes it can be done quicker, but you get stuck behind a bit of traffic and then 3/4 hour might be quick? Its not exactly a good overtaking road, unless you have a death wish?

Hope he don't get a puncture he was cursing a bit changing the tyre :hyper:
  3. You have more chance of finding the ''Marie Celeste'' The Pre-65 like to sell programmes so keep it a secret, but I am sure some old Stalwart will be on here soon to tell you where to go

Right up early and go and watch the first rider away at 0730hrs, then as you say along to Leanachan for a couple of hours. Both Blackwater and Coire Mhorair are a bit of a walk and most people would do these and stay there best part of the day? You won't do these plus the rest! So if you want a group to go to before Lagnaha then you could try Garbh Bheinn, not easy to park, but the section is right by the side of the road? So onto Lagnaha 7 sections split into 2 groups both worth a look and a short walk between both groups. If your going home Monday night then I would leave out Town Hall Brae, it would take you a good 3/4 hour to get back to the Fort the time spent there plus the 3/4 hour back by which time you could be at Glasgow and hitting the motorway South Hope this helps

+1 Please, please do not be tempted to take you bike as John says the off road is for riders and officials only. This is talked about every year and some choose to ignore the impact to the trial could be severe all it needs is one land owner to turn round and say ''sorry I saw some bikes crossing my land that shouldn't be and on that note you can forget about using my land ever again'' Please come to the SSDT plenty of sections you can see on foot and a big road bike is a blast up there, brilliant biking roads and you can park much closer to the sections

Get a thicker tube in your front tyre and carry Dog Turds for the rear, never carried a tube for years!! The rest has been said, try and carry the right spanners, Spare Plug, Fluid, Spare Gloves and thats about it. I would advise NOT to strap anything to the bike unles you ride like that all year round
  18. Charlie from what I have read on the Pre '65 forums riders know chuffing everything from Carbs, Forks, Shocks, Barrels, Pistons and how many strands of wire you got in your throttle cable???? so I think if anyone has the incorrect item on their bike it will passed round park ferme faster than a game of Pass the Parcel in your local mosque!!

Agreed the '05 Sherco 4T was a right ''Dog'' stay well clear, it has all the symptoms above and will drive you insane. They did do a modification as a retro fit, but even if this has been done I would advise spend your money elsewhere...perhaps that is why it is a good deal?
  25. Bloody hell Mike don't sit on the fence! Wasn't there this year but if true its not good, however, it comes back to the point of people giving up their free time so us riders can enjoy it. If that was the case and the results didn't affect the main title challengers then they have probably got away with it. If the rest got a few 5's and got pi**ed off a tad and the result was you didn't beat your mate then that happens most weekends.
