  1. For weeks there's been rabid speculation as to what going on with Squarefoot. Well, BMW and the Knighter have made it official. They've parted company. Anyone able to tip me off on what brand bike Knight bought to ride out the season? Rumors are flying.
  2. We all can't be world traveling, international playboys like you and Jack.
  3. Sure hope so. I talked to his Dad about this issue.
  4. Having watched a few generations of riders over the years, I won't be going out on a limb in saying, Dougie Lampkin is the toughest competitor, ever. From across the pond, I wouldn't put it past him to post his 100 victory this weekend. Ok, that's going out on a limb. Still, hat's off to the toughest SOB to ever strap on a helmet. Get well, quickly.
  5. Does it predict the winners too?
  6. Steve, I see Matt got pipped by a couple of dabs for 1st place.
  7. With many, many hours of rehab, Debbie is doing lot's better. Personally, I admire what the Leavitt's have accomplished in the stunt industry. Their work they do translates into billions of dollars for the economy. Yet they receive a fraction of their true worth. The stuntman/woman is really hollywoods unsung hero. I thank the Leavitt's for opening their home to Phil so he can learn the in's and out's of film-making and proper stuntwork.
  8. Chalk up another Taurus World Stunt Award for Lane's better half. Saturday night, Debbie took home her 6th best stunt award, for her work in Wanted. (stunt driving double for Angelina Jolie) Congratulations, Debbie.
  9. #211 is in 8th place. Nice to see. Jonathan Richardson is holding up well for, what I'm guessing is, top newcomer? And... on a 125? Alexz came on well today. Sam Haslem is holding very, very strong all week. The kids are doing alright. Oh, by the way... Where's Ross Danby?
  10. Ronnie's running the AMA National Enduro series aboard TM. And doing quite well too I might add.
  11. Take a look at the matching photos. Start with the feet on the pegs. Cody's toes point downward. Pat's are flat with the pegs. Cody is stiff. Pat's knees are bent. Pat's back on the bike enough to maneuver the bars. Cody is jammed right up to the bars. It's not that Cody is stiff - it's just he just forces and manhandles the bike. Pat plays the bike like a classically trained musician plays his/her instrument. Cody, he rides like a rockin' roller. Two very different styles, indeed. As for Nigel's above comment. Coming for him, I'm stunned.
  12. Over 500 if the best mini-moto riders in the world converged on Las Vegas the past couple of days for the mini-moto SX championships. The Expert class was stacked with top names. Brad Ripple. Josh Dumuth. Willy Browning. Derek Costella. David Pingree - and the recently suspended bad boy of Motocross, J-Lawbreaker. This isn't child's play. Not for the person with a tight pocketbook. The bikes are custom made. Some running up to $20,000. Michael Blose won the 12 expert event - with Tim Weigand coming in second. Ryan Abrigo won the 10 inch Expert and Costella came in second. On a semi-more-affordable portion of the program. Phillip competed in the 12 inch stock/modified class. A very hotly contested class. You can add minor modifcations, not the full-blown pimp-your-mini-bike until your broke, minis. In 2007, Phil was the AMA Champ. Last year he had bike problems. Over 100 riders entered in this class, from as far away as Russia, France and Australia. This year Phil came in 5th. Not the #1 plate he was hoping for, but a excellent result nonetheless. Congratulation, Phil.
  13. Lane is the king! We are all just followers.
  14. Thanks, Dean. Any major news you got I can put on the TC home page too. Just email me the info. Photos included. cgernhardt@comcast.net Way to step to the plate Trials INC. (As Ron Commo would say)... Oh, there's a lesson here, fellows. Don't play hardball with the AMA. They'll crunch you like a bug hitting the windshield at 70 MPH.
  15. From the AMA. "The AMA will sanction and run all the vintage races at Mid-Ohio. This is because the AMA has been notified by AHRMA and Rob Iannucci that they have been unable to settle their ongoing dispute on or before April 30, 2009, as we had previously stipulated to both parties back in February following the AMA's settlement with Mr. Iannucci."
  16. Today was the deadline. AHRMA is out. It's now the AMA.
  17. He lost a chance at some championship points. Anyhow... I got some good news. If all things go, Eric Storz will be heading across the pond this summer to try his hand at a few events in the FIM 125 Youth Class. His brother Neil will be minding for him. Word has it he's been practicing in a secret location with Mich Lin and Phillip yesterday somewhere near Hollywood.
  18. This year in Baraboo, perhaps? I would guess that would make it on Smagical Adventure 3.
  19. I trimmed this down, I had a lot more to say, I'll save it for my book on Pat in a few years. Anyhow, yesterday Phil and I competed in the OMA Nationals in Nashville, Tennessee. Tommi and Charlie showed up to watch. Pat promised he'd show. I never saw the kid. And, he missed my holeshot in the B class (#551). The highlight of the week in Tennessee. By the EnduroCross season I should (just maybe) be able to at least beat Ringo to the first corner. Esspecially if he continues the "Ringo Wheelie" start. Sad note: Phil crashed hard in the trees and was hurting pretty bad on the ride home. I could only take two laps without Barkbusters. My knuckles and fingers are bloody swollen today. Needless to say, I ordered Phil and I each a set today.
  20. Dang, on the spot question. The era's are so different. The sections and bikes are designed so different. But, I give you this food for thought. Rider? Or World Championship competitor? Patrick may be able to do a few things Tommi can't. But, Tommi can do things Pat can't. On a World Championship scale, until Pat can win a World Championship, Pat isn't a better competitor than Tommi. Tommi's a World Champion and you can't take that away from him. It's documented for history.
  21. Brian, You should swing to TTC. Tommy Ahvala, Pat and I have been down here a couple days and are having a blast.
  22. Thanks. Hey, Brian, remember a few years ago at TTC? When we used to get lost on the loop? We still do that.
  23. You can take those podium shots all day. Here's one you won't find. Big Wig and Wiggy after the final ride of the weekend. It was priceless watching him hug his son like it was his first ever victory when the rear wheel was finally out of gate 15. Congratulations to Alexz. Too bad he didn't take me up on the brews I offered him on Saturday night. The results may have been different? No hard feeling, mate.
  24. On a personal note. I was publicly hard on Noel Saturday after the event - and to Noel, who reads this under Northern Norm, I'd like to say sorry, bro. Noel worked his butt off all weekend. Noel gives everything he has for this sport - and leaves nothing behind. When his day is done, he's put in enough for a dozen men. Noel is my hero. Who else you know could replace a severely damaged passport in less than 24 hours and still make it to Ireland in time for Friday night High Tea?
