OK Here is my conundrum: due to vehicle movements, leases etc..... I will not have a pickup in the near future. I know of someone who pulls a 3 place motorcycle trailer quite successfully with a Mazda Miata. I have a 1985 Toyota MR2 (Fun Car) I am looking for suggestions on the possibility of transporting my trials bike with it. For those not familiar with this car it is a MID-Engine 4 cylinder street legal go-kart. I am hesitant to use a trailer due to the front end already being light with no engine up there. More weight in rear = lighter front = less ability to steer. Was thinking more along the lines of a rack of some sort. Not too many places in the rear to attach though, with all the exhaust doing a snaky thing under there. Had a rough idea of making a rack that would place the rear tire on the back of car and the front tire on the roof. but running into problems figuring out how I would get my large butt up there to tie the bike down. Any ideas? Pics would really help go ahead with the "You're a loony" responses also.

Well, Patrick did not have to say anything to "satisfy the masses". So good show by him speaking his mind and stating his position. Some one mentioned we (Americans) view Trials as a "Fun" sport. So if it becomes a Job for the rider it does not take long before it is not just fun. Now it is work. (The following is pure conjecture on my part but proves my point) Pat may not wish to have Trials as his career, he may be going to college for a degree in something, and Trials is what he does as a hobby and for fun. He does ride very well and is very skilled. Would have been nice for an American in the WTC again, but it is not meant to be yet. But an entry in the SSDT would be a news worthy event. Pat you could ride your bike for 6, that is SIX, days in a row, Damn that sounds like fun.

Looking at his bike listed in the posting profile. He has a 2000 2.9 same as mine, the 2000's have a 1 seal design with no "weep hole". So still best chance it is the water pump seal. I do agree about the ease of changing the seal, Wayne's manuals are all well written and illustrated, and yep shaft getting groovy would be bad.

This is directly translated into 2 possibilities. "It started out really muddy today" = We dragged most of the mud out when we rode the sections "but it got better as we rode everything in." = We spent a large amount of time playing on our bikes. The Warden (I mean my wife) actually made the statement that this may be the year that all the events are rain and muddy events!!!! I did not speak to her for an hour I am optimistic about this weekend. As of this writing the forecast is this. Friday: Partly cloudy/windy High 66 Windy with a few clouds from time to time. Precipitation chance 20% This is where I got forecast So I am hoping it dries up enough to park and the hills are usable.

Well she let's me go to Indiana once a year, and (Here's the big one) I am allowed to visit a foreign country TWICE a year. Although it is our neighbors to the North, CANADA!!! so it is kinda like just going to the next state over. At first read I was a bit perturbed, ya know the impulsive "Hey our rider can do anything" Macho Bravado thingy, but after thinking logically.... while I believe he has the skill for it, but whether it is not enough $$$$ or not enough ambition to continue the WTC that would mean he does not have what it takes. Because in all honesty it takes all 3, The Skill, The $$$ and The Desire. I think we should send Biffsgasgas out for the remainder of the rounds. He may not place well, but I know for damn sure he would be entertaining. I will gladly volunteer to be his minder.

If it were Motocross, Freestyle, Roadracing, or some other speed motorcycle racing there would be tons of money and publicity. Trials is a small niche sport in Europe (where it started), it is even smaller in the US.
