Electric Scorpa?
Reading the article and looking at the bike. The picture is of the one that the French man is using as a prototype. Article says GasGas and pic looks like GasGas. But article also states that Scorpa will have one in production soon. So does that mean there are 2 electric bikes in the works? The one in the pic looks like the cylinder and head were removed, also no longer would need radiator, no more carb or air box, no more need for header pipe, middle pipe or muffler. Weight savings all over the place. It looks as though the batteries and electric motors were mounted on top of the existing cases, and hooked to the crank shaft. (Maybe a straight shaft was fabbed up for this?) So this way there is still the flywheel and clutch and gears. Interesting, best of both worlds? I guess big thing would be sealing the area where the electrics hook up to the mechanics, and does it work like it should? Definitely interesting.

Election Over!
Yep media reports what sounds good and will get viewers. I think Brian R. Made a good point, the way I interpret his point is that true power to control the country lies in the Congress and Legislature. The President is a "Figure head" of sorts. Yes he has control and powers, he can Veto a Bill, but remember if Congress and Legislature really wants it to pass they can overrule his Veto. I also agree with Ishy that an important part of the Presidents job is to get both sides to work together for the best interest of The U.S.A. Not the best interest of that Representative or Special Interest Group. I am not against Special Interest Groups as a whole, sometimes one Group does come up with something that is good for the whole U.S. My comments are just the ramblings of a grumpy almost old man...........(unless you ask my kids then I am ancient)

Election Over!
You just now realized you lost freedoms??? When was the "Patriot Act" enacted? That is when we lost a bunch of freedoms. If memory serves that happened long before the election. OK on one side we got Republicans that want the Government to be able to know everything you do, own and think. On the other side Democrats that want the Government to be able to provide and care for you for the rest of your life. This is why I believe we need a serious 3rd party, that will butt out of my private life and only provide assistance to those that fall on hard times but help them get back to being self-sufficient. Just my own opinions

2009 National Schedule - Tentative
Hey you talkin' bout me?? Yep Cost is a factor especially for those cheap *******s out there like me. Yes the NATC does do a lot of hard work to put on a national series. Yes there is MUCH volunteering going on that goes on without very many saying thank you. (Always remember to Thank the Observers) I attended 2 rounds in Ohio in 2007 Had a blast, great events, Although I did not see anything off the top off my head that would scream what a great deal at $100/ round. I think at the time entry fees were $75 I may be wrong (bad memory) So that may be a reason attendance dropped off in 2008. So with the comment of Does this means that any price is justified? So entry fee of $300/ round is OK without question. It is human nature to question value for dollar spent. Especially for a sport that has absolutely no possibility of winning back your entry fee. Now don't take this completely wrong I still think out of all the motor sports out there trials is the cheapest to participate in, but also the only one with no pay back, (monetarily anyways.) Some of us are just curious where the money goes. It is possible we may never know. It may just be none of our business But we all also want to know why was gas up to $4.25/ gallon and where did that money go?

Which Bike
I once covered my Sherco in Pink Camouflage just for a laugh. It worked, I got many laughs and questions about my preferences in "partners" And no major problems with my 2000 Sherco 2.9. Just normal maintenance and the occasional broken lever etc.... Did do a rebuild last winter. So 7 or 8 yrs before a rebuild not bad. My biggest complaint is with the skid plate mounts not being beefy enough (I modified mine) but I think thats been sorted in the newer bikes.

Which Helmet
HMMM well I'm out, was gonna suggest the NZI trivent. It's what I got, I like the lightness and the venting is nice on hot days, a tad bit chilly in cooler weather. And after 3 yrs now It really STINKS to high heaven. The innards are not removable to wash. Been using Fabreeze antibacterial on it. Helps a little.

Japanese Championships
them guys are totally nuts. But all are excellent riders. I noticed a higher percentage of 4t's than here in the states. at about 2:18 in this vid dude gets quite a "stop and step off" He was looking good up to that point.

Brand & Ross
Well, I think I caught the "phone call" thingy on youtube. And quite frankly that is tame (unless I missed something worse than so an so "did it with your granddaughter) compared to what passes as "Morning radio entertainment" here in the States. I don't necessarily agree that they should have done it........but if you don't like it don't listen and when the listeners disappear so will their jobs.

Welding
OH MY GOD!!! I have finally found somebody else that has the same problem as me. I can't find the earth either.

2009 National Schedule - Tentative
OK Biff, there is only one disturbing thing about your post............. You want to have me meet your parents. I am so surprised that you would actually admit to family members that you know me. You forgot to mention the rounds at the TTC. That sounds like a blast also. If only my dreams come true.
