  1. UUUMMM dare I say starter fluid and a lighter????? to get the tubeless rear back on. OK it was a joke. Where is your sense of humor or is it humour? Tomato or Tomatoe Where is Dan Quale when you need him??
  2. agree with Ishy I don't have an issue with land use, camping and etc... fees. But Each venue seems to be different in fees and you are unaware until you get there or just prior to event. How about a standard land use, camping and parking fee. These are paid with the entry fee. That way riders know up front what the cost is and only have to shell out at one time. Spectators can pay at the gate. Just an opinion.
  3. Any idea of the entry fees for the 2009 National series?

Does it run without the choke on. I am thinking possible that it is sucking air in from somewhere, making it run lean and therefore you need to choke it to give it more gas. This makes for a very uncontrollable idle (tickover). For air leak check center case gasket, base gasket, crank seals (flywheel side, but if bad just change both) and reed cage gasket. My 2000 290 had a chunk of center gasket missing between the barrel and reed valves causing it to run lean. Just a thought.
  5. Hey the only reason I got 2nd was because 2 of the top guys moved up and 1 didn't show. Well, OK I did ride pretty good, was having a lot of fun. Had a Great time, all my 5's were stupid mistakes as usual but I did have some cleans and quite a few 1's. so Either I am getting better or the sections were eased up. LOVED the Culvert section, that gap was cool. I watched Firstgear's nephew do the gap his first lap, looked awesome he did a great job. He really made sure he was gonna make it across........only problem.....he overshot A LOT and went outside the ribbon. Biff, The cow was KICK ASS!!! You do have a great imagination, you make events even more fun.
  6. WOO HOO!!! Great event, Had a Blast!!!! The trophies are awesome, Thanks 29r for taking the time to make them. I actually was able to receive one of them (2nd). yep I know a shocker. Hey firstgear how did you enjoy riding expert? You had a respectable score at the end of the day.
  7. WOO HOO!!!!! chalk one up to the Motorcycle Crowd. Great News Brockway!!!! See ya'll Sunday.

AAWWW where is your sense of Adventure (Stupidity) just wear shorts!! Oh yea exhaust header pipes are hot!!! On a more serious note: Do the knee pads actually provide a fair amount of protection to make them worthwhile to wear? Or is it more of a mental boost. You feel more secure therefore more confident, therefore less mistakes. I really like the sixsixone ankle braces that I use but I think they are more of a "security blanket" than actual protection. If I am not wearing them I just don't feel right. and lose a bit of confidence.
  9. Wooo hooo I should ride Expert that day. OH wait better Idea Firstgear should ride Expert. That way my last place will be 4th instead of 5th.
  10. Thank you We did what we could. Tried to go with a more "Fun" feel.

OK me being the smart ass that I am here goes. Is that because he is about to lap you? Or Did you at least shake it a bit to make it worth his while to look? But seriously, Congrats on having the Cajones to give the series a shot.
  12. Sammy, That SUCKS !!!!!! They probably left the Sherco cuz they were too stupid to know what it was for.
  13. I did a rebuild on my 2000 Sherco 2.9 but got a little cheap and reused my piston. (still looked nice) Now she runs sweet got the low end grunt back, throttle response is great. Only problem..... that pesky rattle. It rattles right from start. not just when hot. So with the piston slap my nice new rings won't last as long. but that is the price I pay.
  14. About once a year maybe twice. It can make a difference in performance seems to perk the old beast up a little.
  15. DOH!!!!!! I too am guilty of such a thing. sssssshhhhhhhhhh don't tell my kids, I preach safety gear like a televangelist.
  16. Helmet would be good. proper safety gear no matter how good you are will give you a boost of confidence to really "give it a go" At least I notice a difference even when I am doing "easy and mundane" techniques. also agree need more downward push with your body to load up the suspension, not so much rearward motion. Think of it like a Pogo Stick. Just as you "pop" the clutch jump up. Just my thoughts
  17. Way to go Super Sherco Sam!!!!!!! You guys got more guts than me. Sam is an excellent rider......But I gotta agree with him about that Joe K. guy. Man that kid is GOOD!!! Joe is crazy and talented,

So would that be Playboy or Hustler? Think about it.......those of us with a juvenile sense of humor will get it right away.
  19. Thanks for the wishing of good weather. You don't have to keep the rain on that side of the pond, having it stay directly over the pond would benefit us both. Would be more fun if you were hanging out with us, but if I could get that silly webcam to work maybe we would take you up on that offer of checking!! Link to the flyer http://motatrials.org/_wsn/page3.html
  20. I knew exactly where my rear wheel was..........rapidly approaching the rear of my skull as we progressed in a gentle arc to ground on the other side of the elevated log.
  21. Kind of like me on section 1 last sunday??? I needed to get away from the bike on the way down. How can someone practice for going over the bars? You and I both did that last sunday also. Although yours were probably more spectacular. Balance, balance, balance. Tight turns, figure eights. Learn to love the clutch. "slipping" the clutch also for finding grip in less than optimum traction conditions. (mud) As silly as it may seem practice bending your knees. This will help with "preload and unloading" later in your trials fun.
