  2. Thanks for that, my mate rode his to school in 1974, tell me something i dont know.
  3. "Alot" do not get boiled last few years i can recall only a handful from 1000 odd starters, where were you watching from? sorry perce, chuck cluck cluck
  4. Im glad these two have jobs again I bet the demise had nothing to do with them
  5. If you buy one in a month be sure to get a very good price as the new ones are just around the corner. Birkett had some new 2013's for sale so you could get one of those very cheap i'm sure. second hand values need to be taken into account if you are ever going to sell it.
  6. I hope they didnt pay alot for the name.....unless it went to the creditors
  7. However, I'm thinking 2 but it may take longer than 1 so the hens win? Full Definition of CRUSADE 1 capitalized : any of the military expeditions undertaken by Christian powers in the 11th, 12th, and 13th centuries to win the Holy Land from the Muslims 2 : a remedial enterprise undertaken with zeal and enthusiasm
  8. So youve never seen a modern bike finish the scott then?
  9. Both heffergem i and many others read your post daddy and we both understood exactly what you said, and not for the first time repeating the irrelevent point doesnt make it true. If you dont want to debate something and accept that what is a fact is one whats the point in anyone listening? Anecdotal evidence of your mates talking non stop about fragility (which is not necessarily the same as reliability) clearly is not the hot topic around the country.
  10. my bike wouldnt be as reliable as my sherpa? Having owned both their is very little to choose to be honest, can remember doing a season on both with very little in the way of breakdowns either 2012 or 1982. But as sure as eggs is eggs the GG is easier to look after and time in workshop is probably 10% of what it was, the bike stops and starts and I wouldnt want to change back as an every week ride. Without doubt weight had/has no influence on the reliability of both. Anecdotal evidence also is not a fact simply because you hear it and whilst your pals may have had problems this does not mean that every gas gas breaks gearboxes or every beta has a bad coil or leaky exhaust, both you and I do not know whether its simply bad luck, poor prep or faulty design. If you insist on not accepting a simple and basic F1 fact when presented to you by both myself and s e lucas there is little point in trying to get you to see reason on this or any topic. So in case you are in any doubt, you cannot compare a faster car (2004) with a slower car (2014) and say the spend billions as its the REGULATIONS that mean they are slower round monaco not wasted money. Repeating an untruth simply makes you appear like a small child with their fingers in their ears shouting la la la while someone is telling them their wrong.
  11. Dad dad dad! Yes that ever popular topic " hello fred did you know I have a fragile bike wouldnt it be great to go back to the B40 days with great big heavy lumps" Oh and just to put you straight (again) in 2004 the engine size was 3000cc an engine only had to last one weekend no restrictions on cylinder number, etc etc I could go on, but to say they dont go faster is ridiculous as they are now using 1600cc with V6's.
  12. They need to get to europe some how some way!
  13. To be honest you could sub the word us easily for uk in biffs post above. The only difference for the British lads is they start alot closer. Again I will beat the same drum the FIM having taken control of Euro champs could very easily open up the youth or junior champs (euro) to guest us riders and have two events close together geographically and consequetive weekends in the summer recess (us) and this would then be backed by manufacturers to provide hire bikes and support trucks, very possible when the wtc closes down. Everyone needs to step back and have a look at what we all can do for the sport to survive globally, and encouraging the "smages" from the us is worthwhile, possible and maybe just help get the US riders over here as a taster?
  14. So did Wiggy, but then hes not factory supported, so more of an excuse not to have one. To my mind this is what Thierry Michaud should be having sleepless nights about, why the younger riders have no minders and how they lose over 100 at every event, if they dont stick at it we have no championship. Challoner hasnt made an appearence and I would bet a crisp 50 that thierry hasnt asked why? Why only 6 (six) youths at this event thierry? And whats FIM doing about it? Said it before if FIM dont ask Gibert Gubian gomez why they quit, the'll never know what they have to do for the wtc to survive, unless they address the problems, obvious or otherwise..
  15. I think it was the riders that timed out on the top route. What wasnt fair and seems to have been conveniently overlooked in every report is that some of the junior riders had rushed round asking for 5's to get in on time only to be told after the second lap that this allowance had been increased. It should be also noted that no one has put their hands up and said they made a mistake.
  16. its all in one area, camping is at the bottom of the hill, no power, sections at the top all compact about 100 m from first to last section, excellent viewing.
  17. Looking at the scores it seems its hit or miss on big dry grippy rocks which was the opposite of what the idea was for no-stop wasnt it?
  18. The FIM have made a severe mistake even holding a round here, the worrying thing and of most concern to me is just 6 competitors in the youth class, the future of our sport. Why is this? And whats Thierry doing about this third round with few particiants in what used to be the biggest class? Can someone remind us whats the job that Jordi Pasquet gets paid to do?
  19. what "great effort" is thierry and wtc (I assume you mean fim) putting in?????????????
