I think this all ties in with a need for a clubmans series which has dual routes, a bit like an Slightly easier novagar and an over 40/50 championship, for which at present there is very little. Something similar to the Reeth 3 day which has 180 riders every year and turns dozens away, it would be popular and would never run out of riders as they would just get older and drop down. The porblem in defining a clubman is immense as some of the" Experts " in our centre have never ridden more than 50 miles from home and would really struggle on the easy course up north.

Check the rules before you buy tickets as at 15 he is too young for WTC, there are however 2 euro rounds he could do which will be "enough" for him I guess, 28th August Hobol Norway and2 october Turin in Italy. Apart from that i guess he could do the A & B champs here in Britain. Good luck.

I think charlies got it covered but buy 8" irons or tyre levers (UK) about 20cms long is fine, less stress on soft rims and tyre. Ialways use air in tube as I had a habit of nipping it but never since putting air in.

Funnily enough the Italian Euro round, for the Saturday at least, had it all, there was a coupl of stream sections, one arena type near the start, a few rocky gulleys, logs, a muddy section straight from the midlands, roots, and bigish steps as well. A bit like Hawkstone really. So maybe next week the WTC won't be the circus at all, there does need to be the spectacular stuff but I agree man made should not be overplayed, but if you need the paddock where are they going to get both at every round?

Woody is pretty much spot on there the 4rt is definately aimed at a larger market, but worringly (for honda/mont/Sandifords) the trials that I have attended are not beginning to get flooded like when the TY mono was about, and after the initial burst they seems not that many new ones about at all, I personally think that it is a 4 stroke thing, alot of riders are happy with a 2 stroke, whatever make. On the hop ups, watching and listening to Laia Sanz's bike this last weekend with every nut and bolt Ti including rear spindle(?), the noise and performance is quite different to a normal 4rt so maybe they will produce an HRC kit foro next year, but they have certainly got the ability to get more pwer out of it, and I would think cc's are the easiest way to do it, which they have probably done already.
