  1. I'm sure its a little of everything pipe spacer ports and ignition mapping. I am definately using 2nd more its stronger not sharper off the bottom. 04 t0 05 has een the best improvement (for me) ever. I will try the keihin soon, promise just like the predictability of the dellorto and the fact you can lay it down while walking a section and it make no difference.
  2. Gubian Oliveras and Gratterola as well?
  3. sparkplugs uk should find it in google, boyesens not so sure but try Ron Humphreys in Leighton Buzzard. 665 cagiva mx is the correct fitment, would imagine they improve a 125 more than a 290, but nver tried it.
  4. Boysens are great, the number escapes me but think its 665 the same as a beta mx 125 again not sure. The 05 has the spacer fitted as standard and its a lot better, never felt the need to retard the ignition on any sherco but know it takes the sharpness away if thats what you want. Try a vx plug aswell thats nice. Another useful mod is to keyhole the radiator bottom plastic cover thingies that makes it a doddle to clean.
  5. I have heard of Cody Webb and Patrick Smage, they are on Sherco right? Cody is 17? Patrick 14? Is there any Gas Gas riders coming through or any others we haven't heard of yet?
  6. Got me thinking now about all that physics I didn't learn at school. Doesn't an object fall at the same increase in speed (acceleration of mass) regardless of weight, so light or heavy its only the impact thats worse???
  7. oh no, the injection has certainly cured the pop and die, the suspension was loverrlly, but why did that sherco get so hot?
  8. I will give you 500 to 1. (Terms and conditions apply but the money will go from me should doug win) You obviously didn't see the Spanish version of the greatest riders of all time league table then, Doug was second on some strange scoring system.
  9. Who is knocking Doug, not me he is the greatest of all time in my eyes its just a shame that when he didn't need the injury he got it. Was it the bike that wasn't as pwerful that made him crash? I unlike R2w could watch him all day and night he is the best, as Steve Saunders said "he is the best because he does everything better than everyone else and there is no weakness in his riding" so whats changed?
  10. Lets say doug wins all the remaining rounds, I sincerely hope he does, Raga can finish second in 4 3rd and 4th in the others and still take the title, it just looks like a mountain to climb on a bike which on the last two days is vulnerable. Don't get me wrong I think the bike has some great points but a championship winning bike this year, doubt it. Don't think any style of section has ever been a disadvantage before to Doug, he won the indoors plenty of times on the 315. Did you think the 4rt was good indoors this year? Has freixa and Fuji performed better or worse outdoors on the 4rt? The weight disadvantage, according to the figures isn't that bad is it? Its not the same as caby on a 4t because he had the choice (in theory), and Gas gas don't have a 4t whereas montesa did have a proven wtc winning machine, and dumped it. This wtc will not go to the final round, not now, unless its a Cabestany raga battle but I hope I'm completely wrong and they both have some really bad results and I am totally incorrect, Doug comes back and wins the eighth. It would have shut the Spanish up completely as with 8 Doug would have been the best ever on paper without any question. Liverpool only had to put the ball in the net, doug has a bit more to do he is 24-0 down.
  11. Same thing happened to me in 1979 with a bultaco kickstart that I had failed to check the tightness of. Can't think of any common denominator except bad mechanicing skills? Certainly nothing to do with the fact it was a Gasser.
  12. As much as I don't want to say it the maths are stacking up against our Doug, six rounds left and he's 24 points down on Raga, fuji is 21. Its surely a 2 way thing between the top two Spaniards now isn't it? When (if ever) has there been a Spanish top 5 in the WTC??? End of an era hastened by the poor performance of the 4rt? Where would Doug Fuji and Frexia be if they were 315 mounted?
  13. Nail on the head there experience is what he needs, but it is a bit chicken and egg with the factory support, until he gets more exposure and experience and results he won't get the factory behind him imho. See the Sam Haslam thread for some more British youths with prospects.
  14. Jordi, yeah but no but yeah but. I think that we have a great crop of youngsters and I wouldn't want to be too picky as to who is best, or who better than whom. One things for certain if all those mentioned above and others progress further then it may not be so long before the next British WT champion.
  15. Better than Michael Brown, Dabill, Wigg and Sampson?
  16. You obviously haven't read your ACU hand book then marky, lots of things to disqualify it me thinks. Incidentally saw one when down in france and the power seemed what shall we say, less than awesome?
  17. suggest you remove your e mail, anyone can mail you through the pm on each post.

    Pilot Jet

Yep 33 is right,I use optimax or ultimate at 75 to 1 with fully synthetic. check the float level in case its miles out, check the banjo filter, treat it to a vx plug, it should be fine. jets available from MRS or Eurocarb
  19. 1991 Achtung Baby, Acrobat. I think its a working class saying which had the latin loosley applied to avoid the profanities but hey who cares, great band album songs.
  20. Very loosley translated from the latin "don't let the b******s grind you down". Doesn't stack up though, as there is no tu and the *******o is actually present in latin.
  21. Helmets are a little like boots only more so, insomuch as the fit varies from person to person, not helmet to helmet. I bought a Premier and then spent some tome chopping the liner about to make it confortable enough to wear for more than a few minutes. Similarily I just felt pressure in all the wrong places with an Arai so even though I could get one cheap wouldn't buy it. Because the Shoei fitted me nice I bought that. Now as far as ventilation goes it is great when riding on the loop, but not that cool when practicing even though it has vents which you can open. When riding in france over the last few summers it has been more than acceptable, best of all, and this is a must for sweatty conditions it has a removable liner. There is only one way to find a good fit and that is make sure you try the helmet you are thinking of buying on for a good few minutes at least.
