When was the change then? I was sure the early Shercos were different?
  3. My guess is that you have sealed the rim tape and the grease has helped you get it on. I cannot see how the grease would seal a spoke not like sikaflex would. Well done for doing the right job, remember the spaish guy in the factory manages to do it all day long it can't be that tricky.
  4. Don't forget the carb top ones which can be swapped too and there is an allen bolt swap for the airbox clip which matches all the others (4mm?) rather than smaller, guess thats what your after dabber? Don't forget to keyhole the rad cover thats a help on Shercos too I've found.
  5. I really don't think the grease seals the rim does it?
  6. Where did loris finish last year?
  7. I spent easter on the I O W and had three years living in Yorkshire, I know where I'd live given a choice, Low North Park every night of the week, magic. Its certainly done Michael Brown no harm decent result last weekend in portugal. My guess is had he lived near Barcelona not Scarborough he would have done even better, perhaps you should move there Alan?? Only joking.
  8. Did a rim tape and tyre on in 16 minutes yesterday, so once you have spent the time learning the technique its not too long / difficult. Silicone is the answer if you never intend to tighten your spokes or true up your wheels.

  11. Perhaps Fuji and Freixa might disagree? Who would have put Bou in front of them? Well done to Doug what a great start and Grimbo as well, how did Sam and Shaun do? Analysing lap 2 scores Raga went round for 5! One to watch?
  12. Come on guys are you saying a car park conclusive test doesn't prove the Sherco is best? What are you suggesting it needs more than 2 mins on a flat surface?
  13. Wiyhout doubt you have the right attitude, the spokes can't leak if the band is ok. Pay particular attention to the valve o ring and spacer etc and if unsure a little silicone here is ok. Big advantage of doining the job as it was intended is you should have confidence that it wont leak when done right. rypusa will show you how. Nb a tube will reduce grip of the rear tyre.
  14. Thanks for the reasoned comments/statements.
  15. Sorry MM888, but this poll sucks. BMW's are great but they can be expensive. An audi and a skoda share the same chassis does that mean they are both good or bad? You are asking to many questions and yet not enough. Asking " are you satisfied with the ex factory quality control" of dealers would tell you if one brand needed more pdi than another. Asking a customer have you bought different makes from the same dealer who had the same person pdi-ing might give you a slightly more acurate answer. I know of someone who had a backplate come loose on a new bike and stop the engine, whos fault is that? Did it happen once out of a thousand bikes sold, should the dealer have checked it etc etc.

If thats salvage I'm a dutchman, all look expensive aswell.
  17. Its the rim tape, look at rypusa website for reseating and another thread on here somewhere
  18. Depends what the 25% is off, full retail is expensive.
  19. Hes older than that! Try 40 next year.
  20. Thats not due to the abuse the 05 got though is it? Anyway less of the bs and more of the exercise for you brian.
  21. Did you split the motor when you did the rebuild? Did you do the pressure test?
  22. I wonder what the ratio of Thorpe wins to Baker wins is in Nationals 20:1?
  23. This is bugging me so much I am temted to go to teeside.........then again
  24. Standing still you open throttle and if you twist the throttle only a fraction in nuetral it revs its nuts off, but in gear you can blip it and its normal? All with airbox in position?
  25. Screws in air box are easy. Make sure the carb to air box rubbers are aligned and just pinched. Do the one on the side first hammer handle to lift air box if needed leave loose screwdriver (small) in one hole and lever airbox over to align threads put in one and then other, careful not to damage threads.
