  1. Never mind about the credit card you need to get your finger out and beat that old one in the Novogar, Richard Allen. Whats going on there?
  2. Agree since putting in the vx in the sherco it definstely runs better.
  3. Don't wash it unless it needs it. Lube everything up and adjust the normal stuff chain brakes clutch throttle. then add in extras as you use the bike after 6 or so trials change the oil do the filter when it needs it pump up the tyres check spokes clean carb etc etc, the Sherco website and RYPUSA are very good as to what jobs need to be done.
  4. I always take the carb off and its easier to do the both together. It doesn't take a few minutes to check the carb anyway, with normal dry use there is no need to take it off. As its new check the jet sizes, and clean the carb filter and check float height. Make sure the airbox top is not too small for the filter had a couple of these recently. A nice mod in this area is to swap the carb top bolts for 4mm allen bolts and then the whole operation of mudgaurd carb and airbox off uses just the one allen key.
  5. Try this link http://www.trialonline.org/CHARLY/CARTES%2...ragona_2005.htm if you go to the trial on line home page and trawl through should get you there to most info you need
  6. It is a common fault apparently, I'm not sure but I think that you can change them for Renthal clamps.
  7. Dan is virtually unbeatable on the National cicuit, I hope he has a good bonus scheme worked out with Gas Gas. It is without question though that the moment the trials move up a gear (WTC/UEM, Brit rounds) he seems to dropback off the pace, I guess thats why Shaun Morris concentrates on practice rather than the 6 days etc.
  8. Must be better than I thought, VW 174 does it in 12.2 and has a top speed of 117mph renault (2.7 140Top of range) does 106mph think 11 may be optimistic manufacturers figures? Cetain that the 90 and 120bhp models don't do 11 secs for sure. The 90 only has a top speed of 86mph so its definately not 11 secs for that one.
  9. sounds like an ex tony or malcom then...........
  10. So would you say trials in the Middlesborough area are muddy then? Have you tried an IRC?
  11. Put some bubble gum over where you think the leak is then try it. Does the slide slide smoothly and the float height set right
  12. Used to be the Vito that was fastest but that is a bit behind the new 174 bhp six speed VW transporter.
  13. Best thing is get a spare wheel and save your tyres for events. Also this will allow you to try two tyres side by side on the same section on the same day. I think the consensus is that in muddy trials IRC are best and dry grippy stuff its a Michelin, as for imbetween try it yourself!
  14. They who are "they". James you are right to some extent 2 strokes would have to be banned per se not just trials so who would do the banning? FIM I don't ride fim events and guess not many do UEM possibly affects more ACU go AMCA AMCA well me and the club members will have our own trials. Basically 2 strokes will not, or rather could not be banned. Now the government could ban them but why and how would it be enforced? Europe could too and this could be possibly more of a threat,
  15. You really should have breather tubes too.
  16. Does the slide move up and down the groove really smoothly? There shouldn't be any gaps in the seal around the guide. Just an observation but that carb looks dirty to me, if the outside is mucky whats the inside like? Have you set the float height as well? Jets for uk should be 33 pilot and 126 mains or near to that. Choke lever should sit down flat, tke off and clean assembly. The air leak shouldn't be there.
  17. I think that if you can get custom made one off decent decals for less than
  18. Take it to white bros and get it sorted?
  19. See if it does it when you eliminate cable ie pull up with old cable 5" long. Is float level set at 18.5? Carb swap is a good idea. O ring good on carb top? Plastic clip and metal securing washer plate thingy all right?
  20. I saw on the goneli website that they are producing the plastic tanks for sherpas again, wonder if Dave Renham has them? http://www.goneli.com/indexen.php
  21. Who, when and where does it say over 125cc bikes are 4 stroke? My point was that IF a fourstroke rule was enforced (I doubt it ever would be at less than FIM level) it could apply as easily to small bikes or bigger ones.
  22. From the pictures of the Caldes factory assembly line my bet is that Rathmells will have them this week, will let you know when the local dealer has one. As to why it has taken this long is a pure mystery and even more so when the bike has been available for production for months and months. The one that is being made is identical to the one we saw in the unofficial video clip last year, at least from the outside. My guess is that they wanted to try the montesa first and make sure the engine performance was at least as good if not better, and 500 units worldwide is saleable and again guessing this is the minimum number that can be made ecomonically. Again for whatever reason the delay has given the factory an extra production run at a time when they are looking towards next year so that may be a way of getting a busy time when normally not so. I do know that it will be a decent effort and good luck to them, but if all the fourstroke fans have bought 4rt's where is the long term market? Jarvis on one to win SSDT?
  23. Why is an 80cc or 125cc class any different to any other class? They make four strokes that small aswell, don't they?
  24. Is that mrs palm and her five lovely daughters?
