  1. I have recently changed my bike, moving from a 07 270 Beta to a new 290 Sherco. I enjoyed my beta but I fancied a change and fell to the temptation of price. Before riding the Sherco I removed the excess wiring and fitted a decent kill switch, its easy pull out the loom to expose the connected wires, cut it free, join the two yellow wires together, the black goes to one side of the kill switch. The union between the plastic tank and the rear mud guard is awful, I improved this slightly by unbolting the coil and bending the coil mount down to lower it as the tank pressed on coil, it
  2. Beta 270 owners, can you give me some insight as to how a 08 270 rides compared to a 07. Is the power delivery on the 08 harsher?

    Stickers?

Hi, I I would like to fit some new stickers/graphics to my 07 Rev 3. I have seen sticker sets that include the rear mudguard, who sells 'em. Fred.
  5. I find with my REV3 that 1st to neutral is impossible but 2nd to nuetral is easy. I don't want to over simplify the solution but don't try to go from 1 to zero go 1 to 2 and tap back down - it works for my bike.
  6. Opinion appears to be split. I hinted at my opinion on the subject in my previous post, but in case it is not clear I would be firmly against decentralisation of the SSDT. The Mountain bike event, (and almost certainly the future World championship trial), will attract many more visitors than the SSDT making out of an town centre of administration essential, Fort William would find it impossible to handle the numbers. Fortunately the SSDT is still able to dovetail into the community, in my opinion a great advantage. It is important to note that the town and car park has stood up to greater pressure from attendance in the past, recently numbers of visitors have noticeably diminished, why consider a move now when it was not essential 10 years ago. If I had a say on the committee I would recommend that a presence in the town was a huge plus point and key to maintaining the status and reputation of the event. At the risk of putting some ones back up I venture to suggest that the car park could be better managed, as a non competitor I have always managed to ease my way in to park, adding to the congestion. Please take a leaf out of the MTB events book where access is a privilege, issue competitors with a prominent window sticker permitting access, charge them if necessary, if a competitor does not require vehicle access then no pass

    Wind Up

Atention heavy riders! This is not a question for those built like a Flamenco dancer................. My forks, (poor things), on a 07 270 purchased 2nd hand from a much smaller rider, tend to dive at the bottom of decents. I was advised not to wind the pre loader in to far as it would make the front wheel push out on tight slippery turn. Can some one on the heavy side give me a guide as to how far down in mm's they have wound their LHS fork pre loader without a detremental effect on steering. The number of clicks out from all the way in on the RHS would also be useful. Thanks.
