So the model you mean is called the 125 Strada. It looks like a 240 engine, but it is only a 125.There are two versions of that model, the aircooled one with twinschock suspension and the later one with the watercooled motor, here we had twinschock and monoschock models. There was also a model called HP1 wit full fairing, watercooled engine, monoschock and 16 inch wheeles. They also had a 50cc version of the Strada, exactly lokkalike as the 125 aircooled but with the 50ccm Minarelli engine.Even in Italy they are very rare.Hope that will help.

I absolutly aagree with jon v8,here on the continent they will let you not ride in a classic event with a converted mono in the Twinschockclass.I think it is unfair to everybody who is on a propper Twinschock.Where is the limit.Aircooled RTL coverting or brand new Scorpas(Yams).Keep it as it is and go into the Aicooled Mono Class.

I agree with Tony27.

The difference between a Talon and a standard Yam Hub are the spokes. The Talon uses normal spokes(one left, one right)and the standart Yam hub uses"Z"spokes. They are doublt lenght then a standart spoke and very, very hard to put in and i think nearly tripple price of standart spokes.

Alan, the plastic skid plate is absolutly scrap for riding. It is only good for bikes on display.I whish you better luck for your next event. If that happend to me on a trial,i would be better pack in and go to the pub.

Well i had 2 saracens, well they all used 18 inch rear wheels. The ones with the iron barrel they had a 5 speed engine and they are the same engines as in the german army bike Hercules K 125 Military. The later one's with the alloy tank also had the alloy barrel. This engine was a six speed engine. Here in germany we put the engine from the latest army model the Hercules K180 Military in that bike and it works great. The best and closest gerbox you can get is from the 125 Hercules Motocross bike. These engines have the closest gear ration and ist the best for trials. All the engines the Saracens came with got that gear box.
@wetfeet.The man on that photo is from Poland and is riding a polish WSK.This is not a Saracen. This man was in italy last year for the pre 65 Trial of the Eurocup.
If anybody needs anymore infos about Saracen please give me a PM.I have a lot of Liturature about Saracen from Motorcycle Magazines and also the original sales brochures. If anybody needs Sachs spare parts he can also give me i PM.I can help with a lot of parts. You can also have a look on www.herculesig.de

Ian,
well for engine parts you have to look in Austria(ebay or jumble's).Even here on the continent the Puch engine is a rare bird and parts are very hard to find. The bset thing is when you get in contact with Hartwig Kamarad, the director of the first trialsmusem in Ohlsdorf/Austria.I'am shure he can help you.I think he knows a few people who worked for the Puch company in the racing and development department.

Maybe it is the condensor on the ignition.

The Yokes from the Ty 175 are smaller then the 250 yokes. If you want to put 250 forks in the 175 yokes it will not fitt. You have to change the complete yokes. But this is a plug and play thging.
Chrs:Mike
-
Well you can use 340 and 360,both are ok.But i would go for 340.
Chrs:Mike

Yes i agree with feetupfun, put Falcons on my Ty 250 last year before the Jersey 2 Day and it felt like a new bike.

Well i remember the monos when they where sate of the art in 1983 and you have to have one.Anyway the origanel hub and spokes are not like standart they are genuine Yamaha parts we called the Spokes Z spokes.the origanal hubs where very fragile and we put aftermarket talon hubs and standart spokes in it.Try Talon.Go on ebay germany there is a guy selling brand new Wilbers shocks for the mono.
Chrs:Mike
