  1. Are you wanting one Billy? These are fair questions and when the time is right you will have your answers. Until then you can dream of bounding up mighty rocks with your feet firmly planted on the pegs of your trusty 4RT.
  2. I spoke with the organizers today and they want to get the word out that the recent fires will not effect the upcoming ARIZONA NATC NATIONAL JULY 27 & 28. Online entries are open here https://secure.mototrials.info/ http://www.mototrials.com/ Also the weather at the trial site is expected to be in the mid 80's. Altitude is 6000'. Here is a link to the event info: www.centralarizonatrials.org/
  3. The Repsol has full Showa suspension. The rear shock on the Standard Cota is an Olle R16V
  4. Lots of good info here Cota 4RT 260 Standard http://www.honda-mon...acteristicas=si Repsol Race Replica http://www.honda-montesa.es/montesa/model.php?motos=cota4rt_replica_eng
  5. Classic pic of Rastus http://www.flickr.co...noo/3124053845/
  6. Only 2 days 14 hours 14 minutes and 38 seconds to go. http://www.honda-montesa.es/
  7. Is this what you are looking for Tim? It's one of my favorites. Cheers, Martin
  8. Lovely bike Yelra, please do not try and convert it to a trials bike. I don't think it would make a good trials bike. The King Scorpion is a sought after bike especially in Spain as very few or none were sold there. It was primarily an export bike for the USA. It appears to be in good condition. It is very complete and original. The only non original parts I can see are: seat, headlight, levers and mudguards. Yes, the extra hole in the head was for a decompressor or spare spark plug. Judging by the tank badge (rare piece) it is the first series of production. What is the serial number? You could restore it its original glory or just get it running and ride it. It has a trials/trail personality. Quite a nice town bike. More info here: montesaweb.com or southwestmontesa.com Martin
  9. Hi Zippy, maybe you missed the tag line that accompanied the video. Montesa Honda prepares the imminent launch of a completely revamped Montesa Cota 4RT at a highly competitive price. The series production model will be introduced next July 6 in Italy, coinciding with the Italian Trial of the World Championship. If people are excited and speculate about the possible new features of new trials bike I don't see the harm in that . The only physical clue I can see in the video is the new gas tank. We'll all just have to wait for the Italian GP on 7/6. All in all a new bike is coming and I think that's good. I guess it's all in how you look at things. Martin
  10. That's a fake photo Glenn . It's been "Photoshopped"
  11. No worries mate. I love retro trials.com. The interviews are great.
  12. No one questioned his right to free speech. My point is that calling people Nazis is not the way to solve a problem. But some people are more interested hurling insults than in exchanging ideas and moving the sport forward. Name calling is the last refuge of the non-thinker.
  13. One thing the non stop debate has done.....it has exposed the ugly and the ignorant among us.
  14. Patience will very soon be rewarded. Montesa has never pulled out of trials. Honda has been building trials bikes since 1974. Combined that's about 85 years of comitment .
  15. I just want to say how great it was to have 1979 World Champ Bernie Scheriber visit the USGP this past weekend at the TTC. The response from the public was amazing. People lined up for 2 hours to get an autograpgh and to meet the man. Bernie was very gracious and took time to speak with everyone.Throughout the weekend Bernie could not walk far without meeting a fan. People brought their scrapbooks and photo albums to show Bernie and to get them signed. I am sure that everyone that met Bernie this weekend now has a story to tell. Bernie wanted his visit to benefit the US TdN team so all proceeds from the book signing, t shirt and poster sales went to support Team USA. The generosity of the people was amazing. I can say that it was the biggest weekend fund raiser in US TdN history. I also want to thank everyone that helped arrange a proper welcome and made Bernie's visit a success. Dan Brown and his amazing TTC staff, Brad Baumert, Pete Croft, Vonda Roper, Jim Watson and everyone that worked the TdN booth. Below is a link to a great story by Jake Miller on the FIM-Live website. http://www.fim-live.com/en/media/news/2013/news-detail/article/1369577066-king-bernie-is-back-in-town/
  16. Jon, as a former minder I have fixed many punctures of varying sizes and shapes. I found the Camel 15-280 inserts to be the best, most flexible, stickiest and most reliable. http://www.amazon.co...r/dp/B000CIOMDQ good luck, Martin
  17. Full credit to you guys Chuck for accepting the challenge and giving it a go. Agree or not... I respect the opinion of one who has tried it.
  18. From the FIM Press Release: "With the aim of making Trial more accessible , reducing the level of the sections, creating more dynamism, reducing the costs and increasing more practice and participation" Noel, where do you get your info? Read the FIM press release. NOWHERE does it say spectators. Part of the problem in having a productive discussion is the mis-information that people have swallowed. I am not saying that this is a magic bullet that will fix everything in the sport. But our sport is at near extinction levels in some areas. The factories are hurting. The world market for all brands was 10,000 bikes, now it is half of that. Everyone is so focused on the No Stop thing, we must look at the big picture and try to create a healthy future for the sport. Tell b40rt how many riders you get at one of your WOTA events. maybe 20 ?
  19. Noel, as a very experienced rider and as the father of 5 time us champ Pat Smage you have a lot to offer in helping our sport grow. I realize that the benefits of no stop are hard for some people to comprehend. There are going to be varied opinions, that's fine, let's exchange ideas ...BUT.... the idea of a riders strike will only hurt the sport. remember we are all volunteers. Telling us that we don't have to bust our buts to set up a trials, Or that some riders are going to strike. Won't hurt us.....I am sure Cody will show up.
  20. I can't respond this....it's too weird. I do however want to preserve it as an example. I think that talking about the sex lives of someone's parents is out of line....and creepy.
  21. The factories are already aware of these changes. They are the ones that asked for and help create them. All the factories have signed on. The CC limit will not affect anything. Weight limits will help reduce costs a little at the world level and make production bikes more reliable. I think they see mulitple benefits in longer loops. Reducing bottlenecks, adding enjoyability and credibility. A 1 km loop on a bike with no tank or seat is kinda weird. They feel that more riders want to ride thier motorcycles through the woods and mountains and not hop around in a parking lot. There will be more total sections as well. The FIM has said that this is not a 1 year test. These changes are long term. It will take a while to realize the benefits. Are you JE the pilot? from Thunder Bay?
  22. This does not make it any easier to check. The Observer still has to make the STOP call.
  23. As Lineaway has said before " Ours' is a motorized sport" Biketrial legend Ot Pi has stated that Biketrial needs to go to No Stop. The place for Stop and Reverse is Indoor X Trial.
