  1. Hi, how much oil per litre are you putting in......in mililitres ?
  2. Englishman, Irishman, Scotsman.....all sat on a beam about 100 foot up, decided that after a good mornings graft, steel erecting, that it was about time for lunch. The Englishman opened his packed lunch that his wife had lovingly prepared for him, pulled out a ham and cheese sandwich, then began to complain about eating the same old thing every day for the last 20 years He then threw himself off, to an abrupt end.... The Scottish man opened his lunch box, pulled out a haggis, and the same again......threw himself off. The Irishman opened his lunch box, to find a potato...same again......he also threw himself off. A week later, their widows are talking after the joint funeral........ Englishmans wife - " I can't believe it, he never said anything, I thought he liked ham and cheese " Scottishmans wife - " I didn't know Hamish was so fed up with haggis, I would have made something else " Irishmans wife - " I can't understand it at all....Paddy made is own lunch !"
  3. Stork...The bit about the failed rad cap got me off my a*se.........been out to the garage to check, and the valve inside had stuck open. What caused it to open ? The last time out it didn't overflow, and I don't think it was hot enough to boil over today, it just leaked. I will have to try it again, with fingers crossed ! Chewy...I have learned a valuable lesson, be very wary of bikes on ebay !!! In the past Ive rebuilt car engines, such as Vauxhall Omega, Astra, Fiesta, Orion, pug 405 diesel - snapped the cam into three at Haydock island in rush hour...., and more. What Im saying is, I'm no mechanic, but I get by, and am quite capable, but for some reason when it comes to the bike and a spot of mechanic-ing, I turn into a jibbering wreck.......I don't know why ? Just realised though, it seems that everything I own....I break.... I dismantle.....I repair.......I sell ! I can't warrant buying a brand new bike, but it sure is tempting. I keep telling the wife I've bought one, just to take the edge off her for when I do !
  4. Matt The only bikes I have to compare to is an 01 Mont 315R, and a 96 easy 250. I like it.......I think it's very '' ridable '' . Being a beginner, it suits me ! Its worlds apart from the 96 scorpa, not even comparable really. As far as the mont goes, Ive not been on it for ages, but seem to remember it being less user friendly, although thats probably more to do with me being absolute beginner when I last went on it..... When its running again, I will give you an informed answer. I would like to try all the others though, just to compare. Whats your views ?

    Water Leak

Whilst out on the bike today, after about 15 mins I noticed water leaking from the overflow. I stopped the bike, give it 5mins to cool down, and tried again......to the same again. The fan works on the temp switch and does work. When I got home, I got it warm again and the same happened again. Can somebody tell me the possible causes, I think its probably the head gasket, but I don't know for sure.......could it be something else ? Where do I start, should I drain the coolant off, and check the impellar and seal firstly. If it is the head gasket, should I replace the little ends, and rings at the same time..........what would you do ? Cheers, Andy. Oh yeah, it isn't blowing white smoke out of the exhaust.
  6. Thanks for the reply. Anyone any idea of cost ? I phoned a place in wigan yesterday, and they only do motoX, and Montesa ? as far as off roading is concerned........
  7. Cheers for that ! The spring on ebay......It states it is the same overall length, but has more coils.....unless its a thicker guage wire, doesn't that mean it will be easier to bottom out.....or am I looking at it all wrong ?
  8. Me too, and everyone in the office !

    Rear Shock

Im looking into getting a new spring, and getting the shock re-con'd..... Does anyone know of a good place to buy the spring, and re-con, preferably near merseyside. I have read lots of posts that state rear sag should be around a third. I measured mine last night at about a half, (with me on), and the spring is wound right up. Maybe someone can tell me what spring to buy.....Im about 15st, (pure tea). Ive been searching for a second-hand rear shock but can't find one anywhere.......I initially wanted one off an 06, but finding them off any year is impossible. Cheers, Andy.

    Tyres

Just found this. IRC What are IRC TL, they're $145 for a pair. Is that cheap ?
  11. I noticed that my front rim has a few little cracks on the edge, and was wondering if it could be welded. Are they aluminium, or ?. Or do I leave it be...? I don't want to fork out for a new rim, and was cosidering painting them anyway, with Plastikote Black......or is there another type of paint thats ideal for this. I could get them powder coated without removing the spokes, they just bake them at a lower temp and the masking tape doesn't burn off. Also, my rear disc is a bit thin, and wondered where to get one from......so far my searches are fruitless. My rear brake isn't very good, but I don't know how good it should be, Theres plenty of oil in it and no air, could it be the seals, or should I replace the fluid first, and go from there.......Ive just put new pads in it, and was expecting the rear to be pretty good, cos the front is ! Cheers, Andy.
  12. Im pretty sure you can put these in the wrong way around.....although it has been a while since I stripped a carb, and memory is a bit fuzzy......
  13. Wonder how many agencies have read this now, as there are lots of names in there.... On another note, the UK is quite capable of scr*wing itself, we've been practising for years. Things are a joke here also. V for vendetta.....class. You should just put a picture of our government on the '' Kenny '' thread.......would be the funniest thing on there.
  14. Sorry, but it was only a couple of seagulls......wasn't it.....? I checked the link to make sure it was ok.
  15. Ive got one, they're pretty good.....not gonna rip your arms off or turn you upside down, unless you want it to ! In my opinion, very good for learning trials on ! Very forgiving ! Oh, and they're bullet proof. Just make sure you know what your buying, as there's not much difference with the bikes from 2001 up to 2006 ish apart from frame colour. ( not that you'll be bothered if it turns out to be a 2006 instead ) There is an old post on here somewhere about how to translate the vin number ( on the headstock ). Just to check it is the right year.
  16. Content removed. You got caught out by a hotlinking graphic that was too graphic for TC...
  17. I was at my bank today; there was a short queue with just one lady in front of me. She was an Asian lady who was trying to exchange yen for dollars and it was obvious she was a little irritated ..... She asked the teller, "Why it change? Yesterday, I pay hunat dolla fo my yen. Today I pay hunat ten for more? Why it change?" The teller shrugged his shoulders and said, "Fluctuations.." The Asian lady says, "Fluc you white people too!"
  18. A young blonde female stock broker was bored with driving her BMW. It lacked individuality and besides that, every other girl in the office had one. She fancied something a bit more individual, perhaps an MG convertible. That week she visited her local car dealer and spied a beautiful Jaguar XK140 convertible. It was wonderfully restored and she fell in love with it
  19. A missionary gets sent into the deepest darkest Africa, and goes to live with a tribe there. He spends years with the people, teaching them to read, write, and the good Christian ways of the white man. One thing that he particularly stresses is the evil of sexual sin. "Thou must not commit adultery or fornication!!!" One day, the wife of one of the tribes
  20. Cicky Have a browse around this site, there might be something on it.......
