  1. Hi, can anyone tell me how best to check the oil level in the forks. - upon lifting the bike onto the rack at the weekend, I placed my hand under the left fork tube, and got an oily finger ! Don't know how much has come out, probably not much, but thought renewing wouldn't hurt. I have just bought some neoprene fork savers, but haven't fitted them yet, so will be partially removing forks anyway......thought it would make good sense to re-fill now ! Can I just remove the bolt from the base and let it drain out, then refill from the cap at the top to a desired level ( want a measurement, not a capacity ), or is there more to it than this ! I suppose I want a " how to " on the easiest way to re-fresh fork oil. A kind of " fork oil for dummies " Cheers. Andy. ps, it says 5wt in the manual, but should I consider heavier as I'm around 15.5 stone.
  2. Looks like pigeon sh*te to me ! I've never wanted a gasser........I do now...that's a seriously nice bit of kit. I could look at that all day........is that weird ?

What is the frame made out of ? I would suggest cutting the dented area out, and welding in a new piece. Tig and purge.....then clean off and grind smooth again. The beauty of tig is the heat is kept local, so not much of a touch up job afterwards ! Or, you could just build the affected area up with a few runs of weld, then grind smooth again. Is there any way of glueing a bit of rubber to the yokes or to the frame to soften the impact.......should there be one.
  9. Found this, it's awesome !!!!! This guy is a legend, he also does - nothing else matters, although I can play that but not quite as good as him.

Please help......! awwwww come on. PJ1 , to be or not to be ? I was thinking that as the scorpa engine is about 127 years old, the PJ1 might suit. But when it arrived and it says rated to 50-1, it scared me !

I have just bought some PJ1 silverfire for my 03 scorpa......Does anyone else use it, it says rated to 50-1,(didn't now that when I bought it)... does that mean it offers no protection after that ! I only bought it as I thought I'd try a different oil, I usually use silkolene comp 2, full synth, but the PJ1 is a blend. Should I leave the PJ1 on the shelf for the mower, and buy some more fully synthetic ? I always run at 15ml to a litre, 75-1 !
  15. If it's only a bit, you'll be fine with it hot......if it's folded in half, you're screwed ! Never heard the soap thing before. Don't need to get it glowing, just " spit rolling off " hot !

Have a look inside the carb, on the engine side there will be a tiny little hole, this is part of the pilot circuit. There may be a tiny amount of crap in there..... I cleaned my old carb out with a strand of wire from a wire rope, and kind of drilled it between my fingers. Although some folk would urge you not to do this, it worked well for me ? Sometimes the inside can end up with a coating of what looks like varnish, it then starts to flake away, and blocks everything up. Got to be cleaned real good to get rid of it all. Out of interest....what carb is it ?
