May 3, 201016 yr 2007 1st year of black powder coat frame. Pretty easy to tell if its at least that new. There will also be a 28 stamped on the base of the cylinder for a 280 - along with the vin# showing its a 04 280. Big difference in value between a 04 and 07, I hope you got a great deal or can return it.

May 3, 201016 yr Always a concern that the previous "owner" obtained it in a somewhat less then sterling fashion. Which could lend you in trouble for receiving stolen property at the least.
May 3, 201016 yr The letter in the middle of the Vin Number is relative to the year, Sounds like you have an 04 if it has an 'E' in it I have an 06 and that has a 'G' in it. This is cut and pasted from Trialspartsusa website, Hope it helps! 2004~2007 Example: VTRGG 3002 E054 9955 VTR = International manufacturers code. VTR = GasGas GG = Trial model (Company code to identify model EC = Enduro & MX, FS = Four Stroke, WD = Quads) 3002: 30 = 300 model. 02 = (02 = year of Europe homogulation N/A USA) E054: E = 2004 ALPHA CODE FOR MODEL YEAR. 05 = Manufacture month (5TH month) May. 4 = Year of manufacture 2004. 9955 = sequential chassis number. (9,955th built in this year.) “Alpha” model year codes Model engine size codes E = 2004 12 = 125cc F = 2005 20 = 200 model (175cc) G = 2006 25 = 250cc H = 2007 28 = 280 model (272cc) 30 = 300cc Edited May 3, 201016 yr by RichT
May 3, 201016 yr ye it looks the same as 2004... My info is that you are correct, the "E" designation is for a 2004 year model. Jon
October 11, 20205 yr Hi everyone. I am trying to get some information about the gas gas 125 I bought. I can't find the year of the bike. I looked at the above thread and it's not clear.... My bike has black frame, marcocchi black forks, black engine cases, (clutch one with no window). VIN VTRTG0700M1200038 Any help is much appreciated.
February 22, 20242 yr Does anyone know what this VIN represents? It was sold to me as a 2015 EC 300: VTRCGH2C3FG400037 Any help would be MUCH appreciated...

Get it from the horse's mouth - phone a main dealer or the importer, in my experience they are usually super helpful especially since the databases are so much better these days. Cheers. Trevbul1
