  1. I walk the bike about 200 yards to where I start her up and jump on. I pull the lever in and out a good few times whilst walking, and when I fire her up and jump on the clutch is fine......although I did put new oil in, about 8 hrs ago. I got the stuff that Birketts recommended, can't remember what type, will have a look later if needed.
  2. The only thing I'd be dabbing would be the sherrifsbadge!!!
  3. Yes, phone this no - 01244 520202 Steve Schwartz. Company I think is called Alkemi. They are based in Flint, but I'm not sure if this is the branch that does the galvanising.......They have 2 places, the other one is North wales also. Electroplating - there are two types, outdoor is gold and guaranteed for 10 yrs. The other is silver and guaranteed for 5 yrs. If you talk to Steve, he will be able to help.
  4. Im looking into getting a transit van, and kitting it out a bit, maybe even a bog......comfortable, and there's room to get changed., although I will be keeping the car also. I currently have a rack, but find myself watching through the rear-view mirror, instead of in front !!!
  5. Basically, you are going to spend money on this bike.......Far better to spend another
  6. The decision doesn't have to be made right now, go and have a look at as many as poss for sale, and try them all. It's easy to fall for the 'bargain of the century' but, there will be another absolute bargain, next week ! The decision is yours. The money is not going to burn a hole in your pocket if you hang on to it for a little while longer. As far as faults with each bike, I don't know, I will leave that to someone more knowledgable. I agree, it's worth finding this out before looking.
  7. yes, it's a gas gas.....ha ha ha !
  8. There isn't a forum in the land big enough to handle a topic of such magnitude ! imagine the storage capacity on that !
  9. Instead of welding your flywheel puller to it, why not weld a nut to it......? Nut on a plate ? M10 nut welded to M20 nut, then weld to flywheel ?
  10. My opinion - steer well clear of something like this,
  11. Mont 315r is a hell of a bike.......and will probably be worth the same in 12 months time if looked after. Parts are easy to get hold of, and there's nothing to note that goes wrong with them. A very sturdy, very capable bike. Expect to pay around the

    Tire Valves

Only 1 valve per wheel........The other thing is a rim lock, in there to prevent the tyre slipping around the rim and ripping the valve from the innertube, which happens due to the low tyre pressures used in trials.
  13. New rose joint delivered today....quite pricey though at
  14. How does he keep the helmet cam more stable over obstacles, than I can manage with a handheld camcorder sat on a sun-lounger ?
  15. Sorry to butt-in, but I wonder why no-one has made a diesel engine trials bike.
  16. Cheers, I removed the shock and removed the bush from the bottom. There is a bit of play in the bush, and there is no grease in it..... Do I have to replace the bush ( think its called a rose joint ) or can I repack wih grease and pop the "O" rings back on. Yzee, just tried the shock and spring, and a combination of both, and it's no different at all...( I was only bouncing around the garage though )....oh well ! You win some, you lose some ! Is this shock servicable, it doesn't look like it...... I think the shock is doing its job, it's the spring that needs uprating for a 15.5 stone lump. Has anyone had an uprated spring, if so could you make any recomm......reccom.......reccomm......recom?endations as to the spec, and price, and where from ? Thanks again. Andy.
  17. How much is it leaking, and does it leak more at higher revs, also does it leak when hot or cold or both ? Does it gush out or does it drip. Check the valve in the rad cap, this is some advice I got last week and hey presto.......sorted.
  18. On the swing-arm shock mount, there appears to be a bush or spacer on each side that is pressed into the ali mount. How do these come out, do they have a shoulder on them, should I be warming the area up first then knock them out, or do they need to be pulled out with vice-grips or something similar? Like I say, the shock is still on the bike, so would like to remove it from the bottom mount first, but unsure of the set-up of the bushes. I've looked at the manual for help, but seems a bit unclear cos the picure is a bit fuzzy.
  19. Hi again.....more problems.....! How do you remove the shock to swingarm bush, I haven't tried yet as I don't know how theyre held in. The only thing I've done is remove the bolt, and cleaned the area with wd40. It looks as though they're pressed in from each side. I've supported the rear wheel so as not to snap the brake cable ( as read on another post ) when it all comes loose. Cheers.
  20. At 50 - 1 it would be 20ml oil per Litre (1000ml) If Im right, you are putting in about 50ml per litre = 20 - 1. ( based on you putting in 400ml per 8000ml ) Its a wonder it runs at all ! A lot of folk run their bikes on about 60 - 1, which is a bit heavy on the oil, but keeps it well lubed......however, the exhaust will need cleaning regularly. I run the scorpa at 75/80 - 1 and it is fine. I don't know what others do, but I mix fuel by the litre, and have a syringe to measure the oil in.
  21. A tramp goes into a pub and asks the landlord for a cocktail stick, which he gives him. Five minutes later, another tramp walks in and asks for the same, which again the landlord gives him. Another five minutes passes, and a third tramp walks into the pub, and asks for a straw. The landlord says " Ive just had two of your mates in here, asking for cocktail sticks, but you asked for a straw......why ? * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * The tramp replies - " somebody threw up outside, and all the best bits have gone "
