  1. Nice answer B4ORT, but what does it mean..........also, the bit about Joanna Lumleys shoes..........setting on fire.........what the ???k. Does anybody make a bramble bush repellent, as for some unknown reason, they always seem to be attracted to my arms and the front brake lever. I almost fell off on Saturday afternoon after an arm of bramble reached out and pulled the front brake lever, just as I was turning sharply on the downside of a muddy hill.....I found myself swearing uncontrollably at a seemingly inanimate object...as I tend to do more and more these days. It was one of them situations that your just glad no-one was watching. Cheers Thatchman, I will check it out !
  2. Hi, I am looking for a pair of trials pants for upto about
  3. yeah, them there twins are brilliant, just brilliant...
  4. Just read the tools list, and the tazer thing.....just brightened my day up loads. Thanks. By the way, my desk is just out of sight from my boss, but I am pretty sure he heard me laugh/cough up a bit of bacon and egg on toast through my right nostril. I am now trying to remove the snot and dribble from my hands without any tissue. ( think surprise sneeze ). Printer paper, as it turns out is pretty useless for this.
  5. Thanks for the speedy response, the problem is that he has managed to split one and when comparing it to the forks in the manual, there seems to be something missing ? . To be honest, I didn't see him split it, although I think its the damper fork, and can't quite see from the diagrams what should be there, and what shouldn't. The bike is an absolute minter, he's owned it for about 6 years and used it for about 10 hrs.....light use. By the way, the forks worked before he took them apart, so I'm guesing there isn't anything missing, but like I said, I didn't see him take them apart. The oil and seals, he's got. The only thing missing is his confidence to rebuild.
  6. My brother decided to replace the fork seals on his 2001 315r, and seems to be stuck. Does anybody have a rough idea how much it will cost to have them done - seals, oil, etc. Can anybody recommend a place to have this done....Im thinking Sandifords, but any help appreciated. Forgot to mention, he's on a tight budget after being made redundant.
  7. Hello there. I presume you have my old bike. The front brake was never very good, but there was nothing wrong with the clutch, I could balance it in any gear without the bike moving.....as for going backwards, well thats what neutral is for.....and old age... Check the adjusters on the levers, they may have moved. I dont know what youve done regards bleeding but this can be painstaking, as you will see if you read some of the posts on here. Im not sure if the bike has banjo type or nipple type, but the banjo type can be awful. let me know how you get on.
  8. Hi, can somebody please point me in the right direction. I am about to apply for an acu license, and need to know if I need a club to sign the forms, although I haven't joined one yet. The other thing is, does the license run for 12 months from date of purchase, or do they have a regular start/ finish date, say Jan to Jan. Do I really need one to attend practice areas. I have seen the old threads on the subject and I am still a little confused about who needs paying and for what.... The way I see it is. I download the acu registration form and send it back to them with a cheque for
  9. check me out - (X BOX LIVE) HOUSEAPE1000, I am lots better at the game than " proper trials ".....I only wish I was as good as that lestropie character that seems to top all the leaderboards. By the way, I sold my old 96 easy on ebay to a guy who decided he wanted to try trials as he was addicted to the game, funny old world, isn't it.
  10. Can Anybody tell me the paint code for the plastics, I am going to repaint over the winter, and what pad do I need to order for the handlebars ?, I think theyre standard but I dont know what they are.... Also, should the rear mudguard be white or blue, Ive seen this year 'sy' with both, Im going blue though I think....
  11. Thanks for the input, I've only just got the bike, and rode it for the first time on sunday, I can't believe the difference between my old 96 and the new un, worlds apart. Its a bit soon for me to be messing around with carb settings just yet, but with my inquisitive nature it will only be a matter of time....... Also, Ive just got in from the garage, been trying to remove the sump guard and replace the bolts, a bit of preventative maintenance - if you will, but one bolt will not move, the countersunk hex set has worn and metric nor imperial keys will remove it....bugger.....I was only going to give it a good clean around those hard to reach - rarely cleaned bits, Ive give in.......for now.... Anyways, thanks. " why do today what can be put off till tommorrow "
  12. 466, and Im all spanked out...
  13. Hi, Ive just bought an 03 sy 250 r and want to spend a day on it before changing the oil, and other things. My question is - Is the little bolt, about 40mm up from the bottom of the crank case the oil level indicator. What is the best gear oil. What is the best premix oil - I currently use " silkolene comp 2 plus sx " At what ratio, I heard 70 -1 ( is this 16ml per 1000 ) What fuel, Unleaded or high octane super unleaded. A;so, what plug. Sorry for all the questions, but I like to start off right, and then if things go wrong they only go a little bit wrong... All help gratefully recieved and accepted......any advice is good advice........as long as it isn't sh*t advice. Please be aware, I have downloaded the manuals and stuff from the hell team, but thought it best to seek the wisdom of the end user. Thanks, Andy.
  14. Hi, can anyone point me in the direction of a vin check for a 2005 scorpa 250 sy, I cant seem to find anything that doesn't require a number plate......aaaarrrrgggggghhhhh.
  15. I couldn't believe my luck when I found this....oh the innuendo.....
  16. I like to use vaseline when Im "rimming", this is the technical term for applying the rim band.
  17. I contacted the seller, he let it go for
  18. Does anyone know if this is an easy fix, has anyone heard of this before..?
  19. Problem sorted, Birketts to the rescue again.......
  20. "LABOUR GOVERNMENT" You seem to have forgotten about the rats who live in caravans, steal everyone elses belongings, take everything they can from 'the system' without adding, who- by the way, have some special ability to become invisible to the law........

    Wow

Has anyone seen Julien Dupont on youtube - "ride the world" f**kin amazing..... Does anyone know if he plans to do a uk tour, and if so, where.. ps I would post a link but I have no idea how......I still consider the electric kettle " witchcraft".
  22. Clean the carb out with can of carb cleaner and a compressor, then clean it out, then again, and again, and once more for good luck. If this doesn't sort it at least you will have a really clean carb. Also, clean the fuel tank and fuel line. You don't want to dirty your nice clean carb.
  23. Gday, clean the exhaust out from front to rear. It will make a huge difference. Cheers, Stork I cleaned the rear silencer and repacked, only 5 hours use since. Do you have any advice on how to clean the front section. I was going to cut it open and clean it out but I'm not sure if the packing will survive when welding it back up. Im the gaffer at a welding and fabrication workshop so doing the job poses no real problems, just not sure I like the idea of burning the crud out - seems a bit ''gung - ho''.
  24. you could try removing the the bit of inner lip thats left with a small file, then when its flat use thick, oil resistant gasket paper and make your own gasket. I know this is it a bit '' bodge it and scarper'' but if doesn,t work, well it was buggered anyway... If nothing else it might just get you to winter.
