  2. I'd suggest buying something that it is easy to get parts for.....ie mudguard. I love my scorpa, but parts seem more expensive than other manufacturers......although suppose I don't need parts as often as other manufacturers ! Price up rear mudguards and go from there.
  3. headmistress' big camel
  4. Hi, The cage nuts fit into pre drilled holes in the chassis and are slid in from the side, they stay in place when lifting the rack up and bolting onto it. I welded some tabs onto the side of the nuts and poked them through from the side.....Very difficult trying to get everything to line up and not have them move when trying to put the bolt in. The longer bolts will be for bolting the towball flange back on after you attach the rack on. The bolts need to be around 60mm longer than usual. Andy.
  5. I have one on my 406 hdi, and its superb. Got mine off ebay for around
  6. Must admit, I'd never thought of riding through morrisons, but now you mention it.......?
  7. Im sure I read on here a while back about someone using an expanding bolt to pull out the pistons from the caliper.
  8. You seem to have quite a collection Is it your Harem ?
  9. It's hard to say without hearing it ! Mine ( same bike ) sounds a bit noisy and rattly, but this hasn't increased since I've owned it. Apparently it's just a good Yamaha way of letting you know the engine is running when you've got the helmet on !!!
  10. I just don't understand it...sending George Michael to prison, seems a bit like sending a fat kid to the sweet factory for being naughty ! George must pinch himself when he wakes up, it's like an all day all you can eat buffet......for free !
  11. I like the way it says nuts and bolts tutorials....who is gonna learn anything from that...apart from people with lunacy ?
  12. ... ... What have George Michael and the Chilean miners got in common? They will all be free in 8 weeks after some heavy drilling !
  13. I bought a 2nd hand pair of forma grippa, for
  14. The bike is 35 yrs old, with only 500 miles on it......maybe its done 15 miles per year, or maybe it did 500 miles in 1975 then sat around in garage. The point is the bike has done an awful lot of sitting around, not running, I wouldn't be at all surprised to find out it was a carby problem !
  15. I used to use it around 3 times a week, and give it some hammer, and it never got worse. The problem was that it started to annoy me, and at that point, you have to get off the pot....or p***.
  16. That was my old bike ! I saw it appear on the bay, then disappear quickly. It had a slight rattle when I had it, then about six months after selling it, I contacted the new owner to see how he was getting on, and he said the bike was completely cream crackered. Don't know what happened next, but guess it found its way into your hands. Problem is, parts for the old girl are very expensive, and it's often not economical to buy the parts needed to put her right ! On the other hand........you can't really expect a lot from a 14 yr old bike for
  17. Is that the one that was on ebay for a day and started at
  18. Sam95 Pm me with your .....QUIRES ?????? Isn't a quire about 25 sheets of paper ( I didn't google it...honest )
  19. Just push the lever clamps further in towards the centre of the bars, that way it kinda shortens the lever, but as its longer there's more leverage, so easy to pull. Just try it.......it's all down to personal preference. I have mine set in so that I can pull the lever to the bars and it misses my little finger and the one next to it..... Although, I ride with just one finger on each lever, when I pull them in, it hits my middle finger......I know that doesn't seem to make sense, but I LIKE IT !!!
  20. I bought some fingerless mtb gel gloves for the summer......big mistake......they make my hands ache, I think because they make the grips feel thicker, if that makes sense ?
  21. Think the Betas are left hand (leg) kick if that makes any difference.
