One thing that's being commented a lot on in the survey is the number of useless replies to topics. Can't say I've ever seen any myself...

Thanks for all the really helpfull advice im sure with a bit help from the right people we can cure the pipes addiction !!

I would remove it then clean it out with a good degreaser, you could even burn it out if the pipe isn't painted, I have done that before.

you could pour petrol down it to clean it I have heard that workes on exhausts!

Take it to wales and ring its neck for 30 minutes across the moors and it will come up nice and clean, bike will run great, will do the mid box and silencer at the same time and make the front pipe go a gold colour. Works for us lot every time, saves undoing any bolts as well

At the risk of diverting this forum from it's apparent new purpose as a casual chat board for the r2w crew and their associated liggers :wall: I'm actually going to attempt to answer the question. I've found caustic soda dissolved in warm water is very effective for cleaning out exahusts but be warned: Caustic soda is very nasty stuff, especially if you get it on your skin and when mixed with wam water it tends to "boil" quite vigorously - heavy gloves and goggles are recommended and don't do it in an enclosed space!

Viewer discretion is advised.
