December 17, 201312 yr Comical. climber mated to air cooled barrel ? Gas Gas forks maybe. How many swm bits are left. Darth Vader has more original parts. Could have bought any modern bike brand new for less.
December 17, 201312 yr Great Looking bike. Too bad he is trying to get the 100 labor hours he paid out of it!
December 17, 201312 yr Poor lad could only afford to put rim decals on one wheel so he must need the cash for xmas
December 17, 201312 yr Even more hopeful? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Honda-TL125s-1977-Classic-Twinshock-Trials-motorcycle-motor-bike/200999937367?rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222002%26algo%3DSIC.FIT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D286%26meid%3D3468952557064791493%26pid%3D100005%26prg%3D1048%26rk%3D4%26rkt%3D5%26sd%3D331073166800%26
December 17, 201312 yr Acquired taste? At that price not many would want a fiddle bike that probably bends too many rules.
December 19, 201312 yr My memory must be fading ... I could've sworn the TL125 I had as a teenager was a 5 speed .... ?
January 15, 201412 yr http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SWM-Twinshock-Trials-TL320/331106485881?_trksid=p2047675.m1850&_trkparms=aid%3D222002%26algo%3DSIC.FIT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D11%26meid%3D4129281008176715455%26pid%3D100011%26prg%3D1005%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D5%26sd%3D331073166800%26 on again
January 15, 201412 yr Yes, Rob Homer was asked to do it in the same manner he'd made a Bantam frame where the tank was part of the frame
January 15, 201412 yr Thanks Dave, thought I had dreamt it. Any idea what this is supposed to achieve, or is just a engineering exercise? Wonder if they changed how the coil is mounted, fiddly with no tank in the way !
January 15, 201412 yr Why the original Bantam was done like that I don't know, as you say, probably just an engineering exercise as Rob Homer is a quite a handy fabricator etc. and it was his own bike I think. The coil on the SWM was still up under the 'tank' and yes, very difficult to get at, evidenced in it's first trial when it wouldn't start which was caused by the lead hanging out of it. Getting it back on was not easy... A conventional tank would have made it a lot easier to deal with. The bike has changed a bit since then, Aprilia watercooled engine with aircooled top end, longer swingarm.
January 15, 201412 yr He did the original build yes and he took some stick on that first trial when, in all its bling and glory, it wouldn't start... sorry mate, if you read this..
