Hello all I 'm trying to find any info on using a rdx220 piston in a ty175. The rdx220 piston has the right size wrist pin 16mm and with bore sizes starting at 69mm. My liner is already at 68mm on my stock engine and I would like to keep using it as the porting is to my liking, but would like to rebore to 70mm and make a 200 out of it. So anyone used the rdx220 piston and what needs to be done with it in order to make it work? Thanks

my mono seems to be hunting a bit on tickover, any ideas? also there was a home made spacer fitted between carb and barrel, which i have removed, i presume it was to tame the power a bit any ideas, cheers guys

I want to remove the speedo from my TY250, it hasn't been working for a while anyway by the looks of things. I've sourced a new (2nd hand) brake plate because the casting had broke on mine where the torque arm bolts on. But, the cable's snapped off, and the speedo drive gear/worm drive are seized solid, and I just can't see how to get the cable out? I planned to remove it completely and fill the hole up, but even on the old brake plate which isn't seized I can't work it out with all the gubbins removed. Any advice? Cheers

Hi i have recently purchased a 76 TY250 sadly the gear selector splined shaft has been welded to keep the gear lever on. Would anyone know if a same year DT250 shaft is the same ?. Thank you

Hi, While sniffing around on the web, saw were a bloke re packed his stock TY175 silencer, in the spark arrestor as in the photo. Any ideas on this and whether it will reduce the noise footprint for us living in urban areas. Thanks

Hi All Just joined and have a few questions about my bikes which I hope some one can help with. I recently bought a pair of Yamaha Ty175's for me and my son to have some fun with. One of the bikes is pretty much in standard condition with standard handlebars, standard rear shocks and the front forks set at 20mm above the top yoke, the one my son rides. My bike is fitted with '6" renthals,Betor rear shocks which appear to be 340mm long,and the front forks set flush with the top yoke. Of the two bikes, my son's is the nicer to ride. Both have bars that seem to have the same amount of rise, and the foot rest positions both seem the same, stardard. Both of us being over 6 …

Hello can any 1 tell me how the ty 80 forks get put together I have a rough idea but I want to know dose the tube get held in with the bushes? the rod is just held in with the screw hat the bottom dose the rod in any way get fastened to the tube? cheers,

I have a ty250, I don't know from what year but it's a mono shock with drum brakes and a red frame!! Anyway since I have no manual (I'm working on it) I was wondering if someone could tell me what oil and how much to use in the gearbox? does anyone stock oversize pistons for ty mono or can a piston from a dt250 or it250 or simular be used as struggling to sauce an over size piston
