Can anyone tell me the correct ohms reading on my '67 T20M ignition coil? I read 1.8 ohms from ground to input lead on the secondary. (all wires disconnected). Also I would like the reading from the 5 alternator wires. I have a black/white, black/yellow, brown, brown/blue and red. I get now spark at the plug. My bike has side points and no battery. I have a repair book but it is no help. Being a positive ground system, will any other single coil work? I want to keep the stock ignition system because my bike is street legal. Thanks,

To finish my rebuild i need the 2 thrust washers that sit behind the clutch basket. I have contacted BVM in Stroud but the parts have come up as NLA. I do not have the originals so can some one tell me the dimensions of these 2 washers? Cheers John

Hi there, I've just bought a 1978 ty175 "project" to restore and eventually ride here in NZ. It's had a hard life, with many parts flogged out (swingarm bushes, wobbly gear selector shaft, stuffed chain & sprockets, wobbly steering head bearings to name a few) but a sound engine. Anyway, there's a rear sprocket for sale on here (http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=148004261) that has 54 teeth, while the sprocket on the bike now has 47 teeth. Would a 54 tooth sprocket be suitable? Presumably it will simply lower all the gearing. The sprocket suits a 428 size chain. Thanks in advance of many more questions .... Ade.

Hello... I have just bought a cota 348... first trials bike in 20 plus years.. How is the suspention on a trials bike set up ? Sag height %.. unloaded & loaded "with rider weight" The rear shocks are stuffed , So they will be replaced I'm only going to use it in the clubmans class so am looking at a set of Betor shocks , prise is not to over the top.. As I live in NZ I have to take into account exchange rate & shiping cost.. when those are added on cheaps not cheap any more.. Thanks Pete

Need information on 38 mm dia forks. The diagramatic assembly of the damper. Have stripped mine and want to check everything is ok. Need to remove old fork seals without damaging the legs. Can anyone help with copies out of manual etc.

  14. Look i've got to tell somebody. Got bored in the shed to day waiting for bits to be machined to finish the B40 off. Cant bring myself to start stripping the Ossa Gripper (see other post) so finally got round to trying to start the Cota 349 i rebuilt last year. Dont know why but been putting off trying to get it to start after i rebuilt the engine. I suppose till you start it "done a great job, star mechanic!" then you try and either 1. it wont start or 2. starts makes a really nasty noise and stops abruptly. Well no excuses found some petrol in a can, smells alright (funny feel a lot happier now?) add a bit extra oil just in case. Thats good no petrol leaks. Kick, Kick,…

I am trying to find a al tank that was used on montesa 348's,I have the USA version that was fiberglass and would like to replace with al tank then use tank cover that Sammy Miller sells. If anyone might know where I can get one let me know.I have found a 349 version ,but will not work with tank cover.

The manual says to torque the cylinder nuts on a Cota 348 from 14.5 to 18 ft lbs. My torque wrench starts at 20 ft lbs. Don't really want to have to buy another torque wrench [ another $50 ] ......... what do you guys do? Calculated *guess* when tightening? The cylinder head will be torqued 22 to 25 ft lbs, so I'm OK there.......
