Hi all, Its time to change the front tyre on my Beta Rev 3 I've already done the back one..which was OK...but I've never changed a front one before. I assume the bolt things are to grip the tyre on??..so presumably I have to undo those first??....but presumably they are pretty fiddly on replacing the tyre?...Then I guess I have to be pretty carefull not to pinch the inner-tube with the tyre levers. If any of you can give me some advice I'd really appreciate it. THANKS

the oil drain plug on my 02 beta is stuck in and the allen key hole is chewed up. The drain plug doesn't have the fibre washer on either. I have removed the bashplate but there isn't a lot of the side of the bolt to grab. I have thought of cutting a groove in it with a hacksaw blade and undoing with a screwdriver and if that dont work put a screwdriver against the groove and give it a hit to loosen it. any better ideas? would leaving ice on it help?

anyone know how to stop the exhaust rusting i can clean the worse of the rust off with wire wool but it will return. Pro-care can't cope with the heat and doesn't last long. I dont particularly want to spend a lot of money like chroming the exhaust.

This could be an anomaly, but I don't think so... Recently, while trying to remove an AJP master cylinder for the first time in several years, the bolts that clamp it to the bars were seized in. This could either be from moisture, or from corrosion caused by the two different metals. Either way, they'll all get anti-seize from now on.

I've just attempted to install new front brake pads for the first time on this bike (GasGas 270TXT) and I think the pistons are siezed. After removing the old pads, I can't push the pistons far enough back into the calipers to install the new pads, let alone get the caliper back onto the disk. Am I missing a trick here? On my previous bikes I could just push the pistons back into the calipers with a screwdriver, install the pads and off we go. The curious thing is, if I reinstall the old pads, the brake works fine. I'm befuddled.

Hi all... Our next competition here in Hong Kong, will be next weekend. We are thinking of making it a team trial (2 or 3 riders in each team). BUT we've never done this before in HK. If anyone has any advice...we would really like to hear it. THANKS in advance for any comments!!

Been trying to buy a Dave Cooper bike rack for past two days. The only contact numbers on their web site are a Tel/Fax number which is usually engaged, but otherwise goes straight to fax, and a mobile number which doesn't connect. I have text'd it but no reply yet. I'm stuck in the Isle of Man at the moment working (with no TMX to hand), does anybody know him, or have better contact numbers for him? Was looking to get hold of it for the weekend, but thats probably too late now. Not the end of the world, but would like to get it ordered as soon as I can. Cheers, Gaz

I just bought one of these before I entered the Sandown trial outside belfast on 20th of March. It was a horrendous day, really windy and wet, but the jacket kept me dry and relatively draught free ( I say relatively cos it was windy enough to blow the visor clean off my helmet, I was bound to get a draught from somewhere. These jackets are made of a medium weight cordura so they are not too heavy, and look like they will take a lot of punishment. They have a mesh lining for comfort and two poppered pockets ( not very secure though...) and I found it had more than enough freedom of movement for riding the sections. Has Anyone got any experience with trying to re-register an older tirials bike?.I'm trying to sort out this problem with my 85 Fantic that has been registered in the past but the documents have gone missing.The DVLA stance on the job is to get the bike MOT'ed on the frame no.,get insurance cover then approach the local office fill in the necessary paperwork,pay for the tax disc,and they then issue a Q plate. The problem I'm having is trying to get insurance cover; A because the bike does'nt yet have a registeration mark B because when it does it'll be a Q C because "We don't insure Trials bikes" All this hassle even though the MOT itself was almost a formality!. …

As a recent fan returned to the sport I have been out every weekend, battling with the new bike, either pratising or competing in local events. I would like to thank Richmond DMC for their efforts so far this year on three exciting trials, Marske, Wensley and Reeth all of which proved formidable for a Clubman B rider trying to improve his standards. The organistaion and sections were formidable and everyone provided info on line, gear, etc all of which was invaluable to me. Any riders wanting to have a great day out and battle the great outdors, check out the next Richmond trial, you won't regret it!!!!
