  1. Conditions are not great at present (if it’s not under snow, it’s under water). With the weather forecasts predicting snow every day bar one for the remainder of the week, it’s looking grim. A final inspection of the course will be made on Friday, and a decision made on whether to run or not after this. The parking field is a swamp and completely unusable, arrangements have been made to use other parking areas but space is limited. IF the trial goes ahead the club would be grateful if competitors could try travel together in one vehicle where possible and park sensibly. Please check the club website, Trials central and Facebook before you travel. or contact Paul Wright…

  4. Well the year is already two months old and with the arrival of February it must be time for the Peak Classic Trials Clubs 2013 Club Championship to commence with round 1 at Dudwood Farm, near Elton, Derbyshire. Start time as usual will be 11.00 am and also as usual we will be having classes for British Bikes, Pre85 Twinshocks and Pre95 air Cooled Monoshocks. One new award for this year will be an over 60's championship so along with effectively 5 routes namely Expert, Classic Expert, Intermediate, Classic Intermediate and Clubman , the two Classic routes being 50/50 combinations, there is something for everybody. Unfortunately due to circumstances beyond our control the…

  5. just come back from the venue after a bit of flag planting this morning. It has been steadily drizzling for the last couple of days whilst we have been setting out and very very light snow is falling but as its drizzling at the same time nothing is remotely looking like settling. it is cold but again with little or no breeze its not remotely close to freezing,on the moor( local temp in my van on the way home was 6.5c) please though bring appropriate clothing especially if observing.. it is winter and it is a moor in Yarkshire, .

The Colmore Cup on the 3rd March is almost fully subscribed, so anyone still thinking of entering this event should get their entries in quick. For riders who have entered, this is a 28 mile road trial. Please note the following: As part of the MSA approval process, the club has been requried to contact both the Gloucestershire Police and the West Mercia Police. The Police have asked us to confirm that all machines are fully road legal and properly insured! Please check your insurance to ensure that it does not exclude you from riding in trials... many policies do! If so, you can purchase basic road insurance on the day when you sign on. (certain restrictions apply.)…

  8. We would like to thank the great turnout of riders who attended and supported the club it made all the work laying out and behind the scenes worthwhile. Another person I would like to mention and thank is Jim Wickstead whose firm S & J Autos of Ilkeston, which is jointly owned and run by Jim and Sean who both ride at our events, helped the club immensely by agreeing to sponsor the event which left us totally gobsmacked but extremely grateful. Jim who was observing on section 3 wasn’t riding this time as he recently had a very bad accident almost severing his finger with a circular saw. Thankfully the hospital was able to reattach the finger and Jim is recovering well …

  10. Unfortunately I have had to cancel the trial scheduled for this Sunday at Clifton as I have just spent over an hour and a half to get my van back up the access road which is like a skating rink with the road covered in ice and snow. This single track road will NOT be gritted by the council so will only get worse so that is why the trial has had to be cancelled. I really hate having to do this but it is beyond my control. I know you may look out your window and think it's not that bad and to be honest the main roads are clear but the single track road down to the venue is treacherous. The stream which is supposed to run under the road is blocked and is now running across t…

  12. The winter weather in Britain nowadays is very changeable and unpredictable and on the Friday while Paul Beswick, the Clerk of the Course, and his two helpers Jim Wickstead and Tony Shaw endured freezing torrential rain and temperatures in minus figures whilst setting the course for Sundays trial who would have thought the sun would shine on Sunday for this the penultimate round of the Peak Classic Trials Clubs 2012/13 Championship. Sundays sunshine was almost eclipsed by the smiles on the riders faces as they attempted 4 laps of 10 sections laid out over the rocky outcrops and trees that abound at this classic venue which has featured in so many Trials videos and magazi…

  13. Just a reminder that this Sunday Peak Classic Trials Club hold round 11 of their Club Championship at Burycliffe Quarry near Elton Derbyshire. 4 laps of 10 sections laid out with Classic bikes in mind. Classes for British Bikes, Pre85 Twinshocks and Pre95 Air Cooled Monos Routes for Expert, Classic Expert, Intermediate, Classic Intermediate and Clubman. Start time is 11.00 entries close at start. Please do not park on the road as there are milk tankers and farm traffic that must have access and apart from the chance of damage to your vehicles parking on the road may result in the loss of this venue SO DONT DO IT ! there is plenty of parking within the venue so please …

Just like to say well done to the Sidcup Trials club for a great trial on sunday. The weather was terrible, with heavy rain before and during the trial, but we (me and my mate) still had a great day, finished covered in mud and worn out. Results and pics on the webb site Sunday evening. A big thanks to the Observers, they must have been frozen. TLTEL

  17. With the country suffering from some of the wettest weather this year an ark might have been more appropriate than a trials bike last Sunday when the Peak Classic Trials club held round 10 of its 2012 Club Championship at Bracken Rocks near Holloway in the heart of the beautiful Derbyshire Peak District. The clerk of the course Paul Beswick had spent Thursday and Friday setting out along with the help of fellow club member Jim Wickstead and did their best to take the downpours of late into account when doing so however one thing they didn’t take into account was a last minute training day organised by James Dabill on the Saturday which left the venue looking more like a m…

Last year Bedlington Motor Club ran the first Alwinton two day trial. Dates have recently been agreed by the North East Centre and this year the trial will take place on the 8th and 9th September. Last years event was enjoyed by many and consisted of three laps of 15 sections on the saturday and two laps of twenty sections on the sunday, all entirely off road. Members of the club have recently been back to the venue and found another 5 brand new sections, there are probabaly more. Discussions have also commenced with the Forestry Commission who have expressed interest in allowing the trial to use part of the neighbouring forest. The club are yet to get into the forest…
